Hi!!

This week I have taken 4 pregnancy tests, all positive. I’m afraid to get too excited because it is so early. I’ll be 5 weeks tomorrow. I have no other signs of pregnancy so it doesn’t feel real yet. Anyone else in the same boat?

First pregnancy, so many questions but I can’t ask friends or family yet.

@duebaby2 it is worked out on the length of your cycles as well. Mine are messed up so I don't really know but I am saying around 5 weeks.

lordofthefries · 10/04/2019 11:35

I’m absolutely shattered today, can barely keep my eyes open. I feel like such a bad mummy to my little boy, I can’t do the things we normally do because I’m so sick and tired. I can’t wait to get past this stage now

smitch82 · 10/04/2019 11:36

@fonxey I feel the same I just feel a bit nauseous and DH thinks that is all in my head!
The nurse laughed at me and said you have had a positive test, your pregnant just go with it 😂 she was really lovely and they get why I am nervous about it all x

duebaby2 · 10/04/2019 11:38

@smitch82 I assume it'll be from the first day of my last period which would put me at 4+1 when I counted the dates (no idea how they got 5+2)

fonxey · 10/04/2019 11:41

@fonxey I've taken so many tests, and i keep them all. They are littered around the house. They help me feel better about it. I got a really strong one today. As I'm only just 4 weeks, the previous ones have been fainter.

I'm going to have to get some more. I guess i might be crazy! My OH is fed up of pee sticks being waved in his face, lol. Even if they have caps over the but with pee on it.

lordofthefries · 10/04/2019 11:44

Do any of you feel like it itsnt real? I just can’t beliehe that I’m having another baby. It doesn’t feel real at all

smitch82 · 10/04/2019 11:46

@lordofthefries I am with you. It feels like I am making it all up! 😂

lordofthefries · 10/04/2019 11:49

@smitch82 I feel exactly the same, I almost feel bad for complaining because I feel like I’m lying, even though I know I’m not. I can’t wait until I’m a bit further on and everyone knows and it feels more real.

MrsS7 · 10/04/2019 12:12

@lordofthefries @smitch82 I feel exactly the same! People think I'm a bit weird when I say I feel like I'm imagining it, so I'm glad you feel the same haha. I guess that feeling will lessen as we get more symptoms/grow bigger/tell more people.

fonxey · 10/04/2019 12:22

Glad I'm not alone in thinking this isn't real. I don't know what to expect either.

That trip to the doctor's was stupid. All they did is give me a bit of paper telling me to phone some other clinic. That could have just put that online. But anyway. Now to phone these people. Sigh... This makes it seem more real. Although still silly.

Sorry for all these weird typos. I'm on my phone and can never type correctly on this thing.

Hi everyone. I went for a scan yesterday and they dated me under 6 weeks as baby was only 1.9mm. I thought i was 6w4d so 1.9mm is way too small for this. I’ve googled 5 week scans and mine looks the same. We had a heartbeat. Does this sound and look positive? I’m so sick with worry I could cry.

smitch82 · 10/04/2019 14:38

@bobble53 if there had been an issue they would have told you at the scan. Also you just ovulated later so your dates are a bit out x

MrsS7 · 10/04/2019 14:38

@bobble53 I'm sorry I know nothing about this so I can't really help, but try not to worry yourself sick. I would imagine that the fact they found a heartbeat is positive. Did they give a reason why the baby might be smaller, or say that it was a reason for concern? Maybe you just had your dates wrong? Sending hugs!

lordofthefries · 10/04/2019 14:41

@bobble53 Could you have just got your dates wrong?, I think if they didn’t bring anything up at the scan and said that there was a heartbeat then that’s a good thing

mypethip · 10/04/2019 17:04

Hi all. Feeling pretty dispirited today. My symptoms have completely disappeared. I was feeling sore boobed, vaguely nauseous, and extremely, extremely tired. Today I don't feel pregnant at all. I'm not bleeding but it's difficult not to assume the worst.

1990carey · 10/04/2019 17:16

@bobble53 dont forget it's still early days, your dates may be fine it just might be because it's so small and so early. I read about this in another thread earlier and lots of people were saying the baby caught up a couple of months later so try not to panic. @mypethip dont panic symptoms can come and go. Mine have been too, and it's not unheard of for people to have none at all!

BirdIsland · 10/04/2019 17:17

Hi @mypethip, I feel exactly the same, I was having cramps earlier this week but now I have nothing. It's really hard to stay positive when I just don't feel any different to normal.

mypethip · 10/04/2019 17:20

It's lovely to read about other people's experiences here. I really can't stand all this uncertainty!

Josie5555 · 10/04/2019 17:51

Hi all. I've been reading everyone's posts and it certainly is of comfort. I'm getting a bit of nausea but today I've been really irritable, my DP has been off today and done loads of stuff but I just feel irritated. Has anyone else has this?

Pip231018 · 10/04/2019 18:05

@mypethip @1990carey I feel absolutely fine. No issues what so ever. Not sick, not bloated, not angry, my boobs ache a bit. Took a test this morn, still pregnant. Occasionally I get a heavy feeling in my uterus but I can't tell if it's just cos I really need a wee.

I think it's normal for symptoms to come and go. I'm trying not to worry too much about it and be grateful I'm not throwing up, which could be yet to come. X

Bumpingalong84 · 10/04/2019 20:10

@bobble53 I also had an early scan today. By lmp I should be 6+2 however due to using ovulation sticks I know I am more like 5+5. Anyhoo at the scan they saw a gestational sac and a yolk sac but not heartbeat yet. I’m obviously anxious but the lady said it’s simply just too early, I think the fact that you have a heartbeat is really reassuring and I think as a pp said, you will catch up with your date. Seems like a regular occurrence from threads I’ve read. I’m holding on to it that we will see a heartbeat in 2 weeks.

As for symptoms I’m still having sore boobs, the nausea is there but very mild and it’s hit and miss. Slight cramping and maybe more tired, but have a toddler so that’s hard to judge 😂

lordofthefries · 10/04/2019 20:11

I keep having really mild nosebleeds which is apparently a symptom, and I have a horrible metallic taste in my mouth.

bobble53 · 10/04/2019 20:50

Thanks everybody. I hope I’m panicking over nothing but as she said my dates were wrong, I don’t get my 12 week scan until the w/c last week of May and that seems like an eternity.

@Bumpingalong84 good luck for 2 weeks time, it is so nerve wracking isn’t it. I presume they didn’t ask me back as I had a heartbeat but I would love the reassurance. Xx

smitch82 · 10/04/2019 21:11

Saw my dr today and she gave me my care pack, it says my scan is the 14th week? Maybe it is just what they do here?
