Hi!!

This week I have taken 4 pregnancy tests, all positive. I’m afraid to get too excited because it is so early. I’ll be 5 weeks tomorrow. I have no other signs of pregnancy so it doesn’t feel real yet. Anyone else in the same boat?

First pregnancy, so many questions but I can’t ask friends or family yet.

I've had aches and cramps on and off for a couple of days, did some googling (obviously) and it seems pretty normal. Don't have any other symptoms so the aches are weirdly reassuring!

MidwifeFox · 08/04/2019 21:25

Hi Ladies, wow so many babies due in December. I'm a private independent midwife and happy to help with any questions you may have, before you announce to the world!
Feel free to have a look at my website: www.ourmidwife.com

smitch82 · 08/04/2019 21:32

What's everyone doing in regards to exercise. Carrying on as normal? I do yoga and play netball but on a break for half term/Easter on both. Do I go back to them?

lordofthefries · 08/04/2019 21:51

I’m getting cramps every now and again, but not as strong as period cramps. I’ve carried on like normal with exercise, but I don’t do much anyway, will bring it up at the doctors though to make sure I’m doing it right

Pip231018 · 08/04/2019 21:54

@stripes416 Yeah. I get them all the time. They have eased off a little then I think I should be worried. Then they come back and then I think I should be worried that they're back. Now, I'm trying not to worry. Easier said than done.

It's a new experience for me so I just don't know what is normal and what it isn't! But I'm sure what you are feeling is part and parcel of early pregnancy. X

lordofthefries · 09/04/2019 08:09

Morning ladies, woke up this morning with really bad nausea. Just eating plain toast now

ladybranstonpickle · 09/04/2019 08:20

@smitch82 re exercise

I am carrying on as normal! I am quite a serious gym goer - lift heavy 3x week, yoga 2x week, spin 1x week, and am also doing the couch to 5k program.

I'll probably dial down the intensity of my cardio but plan and hope to still be able to continue!

All my reading indicates that exercise during pregnancy is a positive thing and can help with general wellbeing as well as an easier labour and delivery.

What sort of exercise are you into?

ladybranstonpickle · 09/04/2019 08:21

I'm also getting cramps on and off. Trying not to worry and just visualize the embryo getting nice and cosy and settled in Grin

BirdIsland · 09/04/2019 08:54

I've woken up this morning with pretty much zero symptoms, which is stressing me out as I had aching on and off all day yesterday. From reading what others says this sound quite normal but it's so hard not to worry!

tri2mum · 09/04/2019 09:00

Hi everyone, congratulations to you all. We got our BFP last Wednesday, really early as I think I’m only 5 weeks this Friday. Had an early MC in December so although so happy about this latest positive also super paranoid every time I go to the loo. Symptoms so far have been sore boobs, back ache and a bit of cramping. DH said he thought my boobs are getting bigger, only an A cup so pretty easy to spot them getting bigger!!

@ladybranstonpickle I run 2-3 times a week, mostly trail and hoping I can keep this going for as long as possible.

Haven’t booked an appt with midwife just yet but will be buying some tests today so I can POAS a few more times.

SunStruck · 09/04/2019 09:11

@smitch82 @ladybranstonpickle

I'm in the same situation! I go to the gym 5-6 times a week (lifting with PT 2 times, cardio and lifting myself 2-3 times).

I am not that concerned about the weights as I can always decrease and do more reps, I'm worried about doing abs excercises... do you know if this is fine? I usually do abs 4-5 times a week minimum as a part of my sessions.

For cardio, I used to love spinning sessions (HIIT), but am now just doing cross trainer and trying to keep heartbeat under 160-170.

I don't want to tell my PT yet but might have to, I have my scan next Thursday so will ask the OBGYN then, but it would be good to know what you guys do?

I am 4 weeks today.

MrsS7 · 09/04/2019 09:52

@BirdIsland that's how I feel- always worried if I don't have symptoms. Constantly checking to see how sore my boobs are haha! But it seems like it's quite normal for symptoms to come and go.

I'm 6 weeks today and have been worried all morning that I haven't been feeling much sickness (everything seems to say that 6 weeks is when it really hits), but I am starting to feel quite queasy now...

smitch82 · 09/04/2019 10:04

@ladybranstonpickle I normally go to the gym 3 times a week and play netball and badminton as well. I have been playing in a local friendly league so netball has been 3x a week recently. I read that it is good to exercise too so plan to keep it up although feeling sick is not helping!

Mine seems to hit in the eve and tonight I am playing badminton and going out for dinner with a friend who is currently going through IVF. We always talk about TTC and so tonight is going to be really difficult!!

Josie5555 · 09/04/2019 10:19

Morning ladies, I've not had a lot of symptoms for the last few days apart from sore boobs. Today the period type cramping has returned but only for a few seconds and then goes again.

Lhmm · 09/04/2019 10:22

Hey I just found out I’m 5 weeks pregnant and due December 2019 I’m slightly concerned as I’ve had 4 pregnancy previous all absolutely identical the sickness was terrible from working till night also the tiredness was bad too !! I hardly ate and lost so much weight, so when I found out last week I was pregnant again I was waiting like a ticking bomb when this sickness will start and I have nothing !! I feel normal other than sore breasts and craving for junk food no sickness or feeling sick AT ALL I found out with my other at 4 weeks and the sickness was in full flow by then!! Anyone else have this ???

Litttlepinkegg · 09/04/2019 13:40

Hi all found out yesterday!
Sore boob and sickness made me do a test. Very much unplanned 3rd dc but a happy accident. Our house is up for sale and dd and ds moving school so not ideal time but timings never been my strong point!

bobble53 · 09/04/2019 13:45

I had a scare on Friday with shoulder pain and was referred to EPAU today and had a scan. I thought I was 6+4 days but turns out I’m less than 6 weeks but saw baby on the screen and a heartbeat. Was so nice and reassuring to see!

MrsS7 · 09/04/2019 14:13

I'm feeling a bit low today and just wondered if anyone else is feeling the same?

It probably stems from not wanting to get too excited just yet, and the fact that I'm still acting as if everything is normal as I haven't told people at work. I just feel like my excitement has been replaced by fear! Even though I wanted this so much, now it's happening I'm really scared of all the huge change that is imminent. I'm worried that I won't cope very well with it, that I won't feel like me anymore, and wish I could get some of my positivity and excitement back.
Sorry for the doom and gloom but just wondering if any of you have felt the same and managed to snap out of it?

bobble53 · 09/04/2019 14:20

Has anyone else had experience of measuring small early on? I’ve googled it and I’m worried now. It was 2mm and I thought I was 6 weeks but they said I’m earlier than that. :(

BirdIsland · 09/04/2019 14:45

I'm the same @MrsS7 I suppose I find it hard to believe I'll be lucky enough for this to all work out but, if it does, my life is then going to be so different. I was excited but now I'm almost waiting for something to go wrong.

I've got no tips on how to snap out of it, but I think it's ok to be nervous about such a monumental (but amazing) thing.

fonxey · 09/04/2019 14:49

@MrsS7 i am feeling the same. It is the first time for me, i have no reason yet to be scared but you read so much and the statistics are scary.

lordofthefries · 09/04/2019 14:53

Sent that too soon!

I think it’s because the first 12 weeks are so stressful because every little difference is so scary, and you want to be excited and tell people but you can’t. I think it all gets better after these weeks

MrsS7 · 09/04/2019 14:58

@BirdIsland @fonxey @lordofthefries thanks guys, glad I'm not the only one and I agree with what you say, everything is scary at this stage.

Thankfully my colleague has just been showing me what her adorable little boy is up to at nursery and I had that little flicker of excitement again, so I just need to try to stay positive I think :)

Jennamarie2019 · 09/04/2019 15:34

I found out last Tuesday when my period didn't arrive so waited till the Wednesday to do a test and got positive result. And I did a further 4 tests. Says I'm due in December too scary close to my.birthday and Xmas haha. So I'm 5 weeks today. And the nausea is unreal I wish I was actually sick the sore boobs are killing me few aches and pains in stomach every so often but not they constant went to a garden centre today and my god I could of thrown up. Must of been the smell of the fresh flowers weird eh.

Ells0204 · 09/04/2019 15:37

My nausea is getting really bad Sad I am 6 weeks today and now it hits me like a tonne of bricks as soon as I wake up, levels out throughout the day then gets really bad again around 3-4pm! No vomiting yet just a lot of wretching and generally feeling icky. I don’t think I can handle 6 or more weeks of this!

Has anyone had or having a reassurance scan early? I’m thinking of going next Friday (Good Friday so me and DP are off work anyway) I’ll be 7+3
