Hi!!

This week I have taken 4 pregnancy tests, all positive. I’m afraid to get too excited because it is so early. I’ll be 5 weeks tomorrow. I have no other signs of pregnancy so it doesn’t feel real yet. Anyone else in the same boat?

First pregnancy, so many questions but I can’t ask friends or family yet.

@stripes416 not until 11/13th dec (neither app matches up!) so got ages to go! I need to just try not to think about it until we have had our scan and know everything is ok!

lordofthefries · 08/04/2019 11:44

@stripes416 I get noght nausea more than morning nausea, I get bad acid reflux too

BirdIsland · 08/04/2019 12:04

I'm also due 14 December, going to call the doctors at the end of this week I think. It feels early but it's my first so want to make sure I'm doing all the things I'm meant to be doing.

1990carey · 08/04/2019 12:11

@BirdIsland I did the same, when I was about 4+4 I phoned, i have no idea what I'm doing plus I like to be organised so phoned quite early. Have my first appointment next Tuesday =)

MrsS7 · 08/04/2019 13:49

Are anyone's symptoms coming and going quite a lot? Is that normal? (I'm 5+6 today).
Last week I was nauseous a lot and could feel stretching/cramps going on in my lower belly a lot of the time. From Friday onwards I was barely feeling nauseous at all and the cramps weren't as frequent, so I freaked out a bit yesterday that it was all over, got really upset and did a pregnancy test to calm myself down- it was a very strong positive!
This did reassure me but I'm still a bit worried today as I have no nausea and only a few little cramps. I thought things would get gradually worse so I'm a bit worried that my symptoms seem to have died down!

fonxey · 08/04/2019 13:55

Hi! Waves

I found out yesterday. According to the calculator I'm sure 16th Dec although i had to guestimate my average cycle length but anyway, December. It's my first so i guess it will a bit later than that.

I've taken 3 tests. And bought several more to continue testing through the week.

I feel so much. I don't want to get attached but i can't help it. Last time i got excited about something (when we were selling our house and head found one we really liked and i was planning all what i wanted to do... ) It all feel through and i was so depressed. 2 days betcha or holiday.

I also have a much awaited holiday to Switzerland coming up so I'm hoping the same thing doesn't happen.

I'm also a little bummed I'll probably be feeling dreadful during my holiday going by what other people say.

Bummed, but not too bummed.

How are you guys coping with the waiting? I just kinda feel that nothing is happening. And I'm not sure if this sick feeling is that I'm expecting, or because I'm excited.

ladybranstonpickle · 08/04/2019 14:00

I called my GP and just as well! The earliest I can be seen is 26 April which will be Week 7. Just stopped myself from buying a ClearBlue digital in Boots. Have lots of cheapies at home so really don't need to buy that! Funny how you worry though.

I'm going to Bilbao for a (boozy) girl's weekend with my two best friends, so that'll be fun, not! No cava for me, haha.

ladybranstonpickle · 08/04/2019 14:00

Bilbao is this weekend, hit enter too soon!

smitch82 · 08/04/2019 14:01

I think we are all the same (1st timers at least). I am sure that it is all fine, I am sure it comes and goes in the first few weeks but everyone is different. Seeing the doctor to confirm on Wednesday but don't think they will do much until a couple of months!

stripes416 · 08/04/2019 14:07

@MrsS7 I think it's quite common for symptoms to come and go, you might start feeling them again in a couple of days or maybe start experiencing some different symptoms

MindyMoonstone · 08/04/2019 14:39

@stripes416 my nausea seems worse later on in the day like 8,9,10pm onwards. Threw up for the first time at 6+4 in a pub at half 10 on the night on Friday!!! Haven’t actually been sick since thankfully but the nausea hasn’t really gone. It’s worse on working days for some reason too, I feel great if I can stay in bed haha!

@mrsS7 I think normal for them to come and go too, I was very nauseous on Friday, and not at all on Saturday, and one of the days last week my boobs started to feel normal which worries me but then the swelling tingling and pain came back! 😂

lordofthefries · 08/04/2019 15:59

My symptoms are coming and going on too, but that was the case for me throughout all my pregnancy with DS.

MIL has asked if I’m pregnant today, she said I look tired but have a glow. And I haven’t been eating like normal. I’ve told her I’m not, just in case, but I’m so excited for everyone to finally know.

1990carey · 08/04/2019 17:55

Yah my symptoms have been coming and going for the last week or so, I'm not getting major symptoms as it is anyways just sore boobs and needing to pee lots more, oh and heightened sense of smell, but my mum said she got hardly any as well when she had me. So from what I can tell it's normal, and we should all count yourself lucky we dont have morning sickness atm!
@lordofthefries Haha that's funny that she guessed! The weekend I told my mum, everyone else that I didn't tell mentioned something about me getting having a baby soon, my dad and step mum made a joke about it and I sat there thinking well actually I am! And my brother asked my mum if me and my partner had any plans to have a baby yet! It's really funny and kinda freaky!

Also anyone else getting sudden panic waves of 'ohmygod what am I doing and can I even do this and I have no idea what I'm actually doing and no idea how to so anything ahhh ahhh ahhhhhhh' ? I keep going up and down like.one minute I'm thinking aww a baby, the next I'm panicking, the next I'm crying and the next I'm just stuffing my face full of crap lol

MrsS7 · 08/04/2019 18:39

@1990carey haha yes I’ve felt exactly like that the past 2 days! Have been trying for 5 months and felt ‘ready’ but there are so many mixed emotions now it’s setting in that our lives are in for a big change!
Just trying to take it one day at a time, we still have a while to get our heads around it all Smile

bobble53 · 08/04/2019 18:41

I can’t stop eating!! I’m usually so good with my diet and food but all I want is bread and stodgy food. I need to curb it or else I’ll be huge come December!

Pip231018 · 08/04/2019 18:45

@1990carey On the way to work I was worrying who would look after the child during the summer holidays. I'm 5 weeks, think I'm jumping the gun...🙈

Pip231018 · 08/04/2019 18:46

@bobble53 I have eaten two salads today. I'm really trying to stick to slimming world but I'd rather eat a pie, a McDonald's, a KFC, cheese on toast. Basically anything I'm not supposed to eat. 😩

lordofthefries · 08/04/2019 19:00

@Pip231018 You’re much better than me! I had McDonald’s pancakes when dropping DH off to work this morning, then had afternoon tea with MIL and ate all the cakes I could, then a chippy for dinner.

Pip231018 · 08/04/2019 19:06

@lordofthefries I am so jealous. I just ate a 90kcal alpen light bar for a chocolate fix. I know how to live.
I was trying to loose weight cos I thought it'd help me when TTC, turns out it happened pretty much straight away. Now I'm worried about being ginormous and pregnant. And I'll only get more ginormous so...

I might just stand outside McDonald's and sniff.

lordofthefries · 08/04/2019 19:09

@Pip231018 I really need to stop, I’ve always been able to eat whatever I want and not gain any weight, barely gained anything with DS and lost it again. But I feel this time will be very different, last time I had all the time in the world for the gym, but now I have DS to look after. Will do a meal plan soon and stick to it, got to make sure I’m giving this LO all the good stuff...and a few burgers here and there

Pip231018 · 08/04/2019 19:14

@lordofthefries I am so jealous. I literally look at a cake and put 1/2 stone on. I lost weight a while ago and slowly over 5 years it all crept back on. Soooo, now I need to try and just have a good diet cos google has already told me I'm a bad parent because of my BMI!

I am sure pregnancy will be kind to you, running around after your LO will keep you active, probs better than the gym!! X

lordofthefries · 08/04/2019 19:37

@Pip231018 Remember to be kind to yourself, just do your best. I think sometimes pregnancy is great if you want to lose weight because you have an incentive to do it, but remember you have another person inside of you and sometimes they really want to eat a cakeWink

You’re right about running around after DS, he’s a nightmare now that he’s able to run around. I don’t know how I’m going to cope with 2 of them

Pip231018 · 08/04/2019 19:46

@lordofthefries I'd say you were mental but I really have no idea what I'm letting myself in for! Haha. Ahhh, eat a cake whilst chasing him, that is balance.

I know, I want to be healthy for the baby (that sounds so weird) also my sister who is tiny had GD so I feel like if I start as I mean to go on I will be in a better position come the GT testing. Even though her and I both having it would be coincidental, I still want to do what I can. This will probs last about 3 weeks...

stripes416 · 08/04/2019 21:04

Is anybody else experiencing stomach cramps? Like light period pains? I've been having them on and off for a few days now

Sianii · 08/04/2019 21:12

stripes416 I had and still have from time to time cramping which before the test I was convinced that was it my period was coming so tried not to get my hopes up. Turns out you can have similar pains whilst your body stretches and adapts.
