Hi @CowBrow and everyone, thought I would start a new thread since the old one has filled up and I can't find another! If there is one and I've missed it, let me know Smile how's everyone doing?

@Random2468 😘😘

@flowersaremyfave until I read your last message I was going to ask if you were the lady on number 6. Then I reckon flutters would be totally possible (I reckon anyway!). Wow just amazing.

HarryPottersSecretSister · 01/03/2019 13:32

@katemurrayf yay! I have a due date buddy. I was looking through the list earlier and (ridiculously) thinking "boo. I'm the last one due and I'm on my own" (which I know is completely stupid)

Welcome!

flowersaremyfave · 01/03/2019 13:36

@HarryPottersSecretSister yeah I'm not really sure how or why you feel things earlier it's quite bizarre! Made me feel reassured though so that's good. Just can't wait until the 19th now 😁

@katemurrayf sorry I missed your post! Congratulations and welcome aboard.

katemurrayf · 01/03/2019 13:56

Yay - hello due date buddy :)

HarryPottersSecretSister · 01/03/2019 14:43

@flowersaremyfave isn't it because everything's a little 'looser' inside and the stomach muscles are em (I'm trying to find a really tactful and complimentary way to put this 🤔😂) fecked? So we're more sensitive and feel things more quickly.
I also reckon it helps that you're likely to be a pro at this stage and can identify what the flutters are (rather than wonder).

I know mine are and that I definitely felt baby number 3 way sooner than number 1 😊

Ps in awe of 6 children. I absolutely adore big families and think you're amazing ❤️

HarryPottersSecretSister · 01/03/2019 14:44

@katemurrayf happy 6 week anniversary day! 😍

@random2468 I hope your doing ok. I understand your anxiety as I also had 2 miscarriages last year, one being a missed miscarriage where I found out at 12 weeks baby hadn’t made it past 7+5. Im currently 8 weeks and since week 5 I have had brown discharge & worried myself sick. It seems to have gone now & I have had scans at 6 weeks and 8 weeks and all looks ok but I’m still terrified something will go wrong again. I know how hard it is but brown discharge can be totally normal xx

flowersaremyfave · 01/03/2019 14:55

@HarryPottersSecretSister 🤣 yep that's my guessing too. You definitely recognise things earlier when you've been there and done it a few times 😂 it also kind of relaxes you and you don't get so panicked over things. I can kind of know what's going on instead of guessing now 🙈

Aww thank you! Number 6 was definitely not on the cards 😬 but at least I will have an even number now! And have loads of options of where to live when I'm old 😂

HarryPottersSecretSister · 01/03/2019 15:00

Lol @flowersaremyfave ! Love your thinking 😂😂🙌

Secretlifeofme · 01/03/2019 15:49

Hi everyone, hope you're all well and not feeling too sick!
I had an early scan today at 6+1. They saw the sac with the embryo inside but I was told that it was measuring 3 days smaller sad also they couldn't see a heartbeat yet. The sonographer told me not to worry and that it was normal to have a bit of variation, but obviously I am still worrying! I have to go back for another scan on 11th when I'll be 7 + 4.

Does anyone have any advice on this? Is it really normal? I'm really worried because I have lost three previous pregnancies at around this time :(

kdd1980 · 01/03/2019 17:57

@Secretlifeofme I also had a scan today and was put back 1 week from 7 to to 6 weeks there was only just a heartbeat there. I think it's prob just a bit early for them to see the heart beat if you are less than 6 weeks by measurements. Try not to worry too much, I'm sure it will be a different story for your next one

Frizzy1986 · 01/03/2019 17:58

I have no experience myself @secretlifeofme but from what I have read it is really quite common to not have a heartbeat at 6 weeks. Especially right at the start. I think a lot of scan places advise to hold of until towards the end of 6 weeks or 7 weeks so you don't worry about a heartbeat as it can be really hard to see at that stage.
We had an early scan at 7+5 and they had to search a lot and I had to be very still to see a heartbeat as its so small in there.

Anyone under a consultant and know how it works?
I'm not sure if I am or not. Will it say somewhere? I can't read half the comments in my green notes
The midwife mentioned at my booking today about when I talk to the consultant they might try and get me to have a cs.
I have had to self refer to physio via email as I had a 3rd degree tear last time, but I'm a bit confused if a consultant will contact me or what.
I assumed I'd just be midwife, but they also said that I'll see the community midwife at my gps.

kdd1980 · 01/03/2019 17:58

@Secretlifeofme ps I have also had 5 mc's so I completely understand your worry xx

SarahLouise88 · 01/03/2019 17:59

Hi everyone. Hope it's ok to join! First time expectant mum here, due 3rd October and it's an IVF pregnancy. So very anxious but trying to enjoy it and worry less! Lovely to meet everyone Smile Sarah x

Jodie6 · 01/03/2019 18:00

Just wanted to pop in a say I'm now 7w 5d. I had an early scan at just over 6 weeks and had a strong heartbeat and was measuring 2 days bigger so really positive. My 12 week scan is booked in on 1 April however was thinking of booking a private scan in a week before so that we can tell the family on Mother's Day however I was told that I shouldn't have a scan within 7 days of another due to the waves potentially harming the baby. So I've booked in on 22 March with 12 week scan on 1 April. Is anyone else having scans before and this close together?

Dreamer2019 · 01/03/2019 20:20

@Frizzy1986 I was put under a consultant from about 25 weeks last time and had complications so I'd be surprised if I'm not again. I did a birth reflections session and the midwife said I would be again (sigh). They wrote consultant or something similar or the consultant name right on the front of my notes before. Gotta love trying to decipher medical notes though! If you are, you'll be booked in for your scan along with a consultant appointment after. I'm not sure if they do this for the first scan though. I had a lot more scans. I also still saw a midwife at my GP as usual too. You could always call your midwife and query it, maybe say you've been thinking about what she said since you saw her?

Topsy15 · 01/03/2019 21:50

Welcome to the newbies and congrats! Hope everyone is doing well. I'm 9+3 today, the nausea and can't be bothered to do anything-ness continues... worst issue though is breathlessness it's so bad! Just can't get enough air! Anyone else getting this??

Nextchapter19 · 01/03/2019 22:19

@Topsy15 I’ve had some breathlessness too. For me at the moment its now smells making me sick....I feel like I can smell everything. Had a full on cry earlier as finding it hard feeling so awful but good to know I’m not alone.

Frizzy1986 · 01/03/2019 22:41

I have to do 2 flights of stairs for work and feel a bit breathless at the top. Think part of it is that I'm not eating well at the moment so my body isn't getting the energy it needs. Looking forward to being able to eat properly and not worrying that I won't want to eat my planned evening meal.
@dreamer2019 yeah I might call. Might see if I get anything from the physio or at the 12 week scan as not sure it's worth bothering if it all goes tits up at that point.
To be honest I don't want a consultant either as just planning on natural all the way. I just pushed too hard and too fast and I know people don't necessarily tear the next time.
I think I've healed well too, just need to get those pelvic floor exercises going again.

flowersaremyfave · 02/03/2019 00:06

@SarahLouise88 congratulations 🎉

Secretlifeofme · 02/03/2019 02:26

Thank you @kdd1980 and @Frizzy1986 Flowers I am trying to relax. As DH says, there's nothing we can do to change the outcome either way, so I just need to try to relax until the next scan.

neuroticnumpty · 02/03/2019 09:22

@Topsy15 🙋🏽‍♀️ I'm with you on the breathlessness. It's actually embarrassing. I woke up in the night feeling breathless too. Don't know what that's all about....

Topsy15 · 02/03/2019 15:42

@Nextchapter19 it's so a mix of emotions isn't it it's horrible feeling so awful all the time but also reassuring! I nearly cry multiple times a day at the moment...

@neuroticnumpty I'm glad it's not just me! People must think we are so unfit, I agree it's embarrassing 🙈.

I have done the food shop today and managed a light session at the gym, now cosy in my PJs and think that's me done for the day, weekends are write offs compared to normal. Enjoying treating myself to food I wouldn't even allow myself to consider usually though 😋 so many more snacks! I've actually had the eating habits of a child now 🙃
