Hi @CowBrow and everyone, thought I would start a new thread since the old one has filled up and I can't find another! If there is one and I've missed it, let me know Smile how's everyone doing?

@saffy347 yeah same but don't think it will be long before I go back to panic mode lol. I haven't been to bad get off bit of Nausea here and there but other than that I am fine boobs still quite sore get frequent headaches but I suffer migraines also. And still so very tired but running around after a 3 year old probably does that to you lol.

fluffyunicorns86 · 02/04/2019 17:32

@rememberallball thank you am so glad all was well can stop panicking for now.

Claireb2203 · 02/04/2019 18:19

@saffy347 the results came in the post after blood test

givememarmite · 02/04/2019 18:31

Great news about your scan @fluffyunicorns86 and your test results @Claireb2203
I'm going in to have blood taken for the harmony/NIPT tomorrow and the results should be back in time to coincide with the nuchal scan on 16th April. Counting down the days!

Frizzy1986 · 02/04/2019 20:49

I swear that my downs result last time was 1 in 750 and this time its 1 in 25000 and Edwards is 1 in 100000. Considering I am older this time I assumed I'd at least be around the same mark as last time.
Congrats on the good scans. I've embraced the maternity clothes and am feeling much more comfortable (although look about 5+ months along)
I'm also getting weird crampy twinges which I do not like and freak me out even though I expect its just generally expanding pains.

So Im 12 weeks pregnant on Sunday and have my scan next Tuesday. The weekend after the scan, Im meeting up with my 2 best friends for a girly day and lunch. We are very close and have been friends for over 20 years. One doesn’t want children and one is in year 6 of trying and ivf.

I know my friend having ivf will be so happy for me, but I feel like I need to tell her before we meet for lunch as I dont want it to be a total shock/ruin the day/her to be really upset in a restaurant in front of everyone. I feel she needs at least a few days to digest it. Six years is a long time to try for a baby. Whats makes it worse is I only told her we were trying in January which was true, and we got pregnant that first month.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? I love my friend dearly but am so anxious about telling her as know it will hurt, even though she will be happy?

womaninkent · 02/04/2019 21:53

@nextchapter19 definitely tell her quietly before.

Frizzy1986 · 03/04/2019 08:03

@nextchapter19 I agree. Definitely tell her beforehand. Maybe a text or something so she doesn't have to "react" You can just say that you understand that it might be difficult and you wanted to let her know in advance as she means so much to you and didn't want it to be thrust upon her.
Say that you totally understand whatever she is feeling and that you love her.
I think it's really nice that you are thinking of her.

princesstinnedpeach · 03/04/2019 08:20

@Nextchapter19 I think the fact you're anxious not to hurt her feelings will go a really long way in itself. Definitely think telling her quietly before is the way to go. You sound like a lovely friend.

Twelve weeks yesterday and still vomiting and feeling awful...please god let it let up soon. I don't know whether to be optimistic or worried about the fact that other people are starting to feel better!

Everyone is different symptoms wise. with all my pregnancies by 10-11 weeks I have felt ok but still getting headaches and tired and boobs so sore after being in a bra all day. I am 13 weeks +2

faelavie · 03/04/2019 09:37

Had my scan yesterday! Was relieved to see that little heart beating so strongly! Seeing my little bub wiggling about has made this so much more real. I measured at 12+3 which is a few days more than I'd calculated, so my new due date is 12th October.

We announced it afterwards and I admit I'm feeling a little overwhelmed by messages and phone calls.... I know people are just showing they care but its been a bit much for me! Couldn't wait to tell people before, now wondering if I should've left it a bit longer.

fluffyunicorns86 · 03/04/2019 09:41

@faelavie I also had my scan yesterday I am 13+2 due 7th October. I have only told a couple people who I need to tell won't be telling many more just yet. It definitely makes you feel so much better seeing them wriggling and that heart beating

Doop · 03/04/2019 10:48

I always worry that sickness is said to be a sign of a strong pregnancy, and i dont feel sick. I didnt last time and found out at the 12 week scan that the baby had died at 11+3. So a little worried about my scan on friday.

Claireb2203 · 03/04/2019 11:12

Has anyone brought anything yet? I don't feel like u want to until 20 week scan. With dd we started buying bitsand pieces after 12 week scan but this time I'm not as eager too, not sure why

@claireb2203 I haven't started buying anything yet tbh too scared too I think after what happened to me last year but I will soon.

@doop I have never really suffered bad nausea or sickness with any of mine and only time I was nausea when I smelt certain smells. I know it is hard but try not to worry I was exactly the same and yesterday saw a healthy baby with a heartbeat x

2018isanewyear · 03/04/2019 12:09

I see this is nearly full now but can I joint please

12+3 today and had my scan Monday, after a previous miscarriage I'm so pleased to be here! Due date is the 13th October, after going back and forward over finding out the sex we have now decided not to. It's our first so all very exciting!

faelavie · 03/04/2019 12:28

@fluffyunicorn86 Yeah I kinda wish we'd kept it more quiet at least until I get the screening blood results back, but too late now! Glad your scan went OK :)

@Doop Don't worry too much, I haven't vomited at all throughout this pregnancy. Good luck at the scan.

@saffy347 thanks so much!

fluffyunicorns86 · 03/04/2019 12:28

welcome @2018isanewyear congratulations on your pregnancy. I am due 7th October I have also suffered a few losses and have 3 healthy children afterwards. I have extra appointments this time due to my long history. Hope everything is going well for you

NMCB · 03/04/2019 14:46

Hi All!

Welcome to newcomers?

I’m currently 10+1, due on 29th October. Had a miscarriage last year and am a super nervous pregnant person....obviously! I also have very few symptoms (I know most women would love this) a few sneezes throughout the day and a bit of gagging but no sickness.

Had a private scan at 7+3 and now the wait to my 12 weeks scan (17th April) feels like forever away!

It’s great to read all your stories Smile

X

HarryHarry · 03/04/2019 14:55

@Doop I know exactly how you feel. With my last pregnancy I was so sick but this time, nothing! (I threw up once but otherwise I look and feel completely normal and haven’t gained any weight). My scan is this evening and I’m really, really anxious about it. Have you had no symptoms at all?
