Hi @CowBrow and everyone, thought I would start a new thread since the old one has filled up and I can't find another! If there is one and I've missed it, let me know Smile how's everyone doing?

I’m kind of jealous of all of your pregnancy symptoms! I don’t feel anything at all this time so I’m really starting to worry that there’s something wrong. I’ve got an appointment with my GP (who is also a gynaecologist/obstetrician) tomorrow so HOPEFULLY we might be able to hear something on the doppler. Otherwise I just have to keep waiting for my 12 week scan (which actually isn’t until week 13, still two weeks away!)

@womaninkent Last pregnancy I found petite maternity clothes from ASOS and also from Gap. I’m only 5’1”Smile

womaninkent · 21/03/2019 06:35

Thanks @harryharry!

fluffyunicorns86 · 21/03/2019 07:03

@harryharry my symptoms have been very little this time round with my last 2 pregnancies symptoms were strong. if I hadn't had 2 early scans I would also been worrying and the fact I am showing is helping.

good luck today and hope you can hear on doppler. my scan is also at 13 weeks and seems to be dragging. mine is on 2nd april

princesstinnedpeach · 21/03/2019 07:04

@Frizzy1986 my boss is pregnant too in a team of four of us including me and her. Because I've been so poorly they all know and no one has minded in the slightest. Really don't waste any of your precious time or energy feeling bad! Lots and lots of people have babies at any one time, it stands to reason some of them will work together.

womaninkent · 21/03/2019 08:22

@frizzy1986 I understand because i’ve been feeling very guilty about leaving a project I am working on in the lurch in October. As everyone says-really there is nothing to feel guilty about. Most people have a family at some point and there is never an ideal moment work-wise!

Frizzy1986 · 21/03/2019 19:11

Thanks for the supportive words everyone. I think I'm just stressing myself out as I do actually care how I am perceived and I just feel like my news will be the last straw, when before the bombshell, it wouldn't have been.
We will find out tomorrow as its scan day. I'm cacking my pants if I'm honest. Something in my total pessimist personality is telling me to expect bad news.
Hopefully it will all be OK and then on Saturday we will get to break the news to dd, who has recently revealed that she doesn't want us to ever have a baby as it will eat her toys. This is after over 6 months of her asking when she can have a sibling.

Jodie6 · 21/03/2019 19:51

@Frizzy1986 good luck with your scan tomorrow.

I have a scan tomorrow but an early one at 10+5 as haven't had one since 6+4 so am nervous too.

I'm trying to think positively about it all and whilst nervous I am excited to see the progress.

Best of luck for tomorrow Smile

fluffyunicorns86 · 21/03/2019 19:53

best of lucky to you both tomorrow for your scans my 12 week scan is 2nd of april and feels forever away and so anxious about it

Jodie6 · 21/03/2019 20:30

@fluffyunicorns86 my 12 week scan is on 1 April and your right it does feel a way away. I'm using the 12 week scan as a goal at the moment and feel like if I can get there I can get through the rest.

fluffyunicorns86 · 21/03/2019 20:36

@Jodie6 yeah I am doing the same my goal this time is 20 week scan after my loss at 18 weeks last year but so anxious something is going to go wrong. hope all goes well for you on the 1st. I am actually 12 weeks tomorrow so actually be 13 weeks

Rememberallball · 21/03/2019 21:12

Evening all. Got my scan appointment letter through this morning and, despite someone telling me yesterday that I was not on the hospital system and therefore no appointments would have been made for me, the letter was printed off on Tuesday - so there obviously WAS information about me on the system!!

Anyway, I’m glad to have received my appointment through - just wish the hospital worked on joined up thinking!!

HarryHarry · 21/03/2019 21:50

Good news - heard the baby’s HB on the Doppler, 163 beats per minute. Still anxious about the scan though!

Hi @Saffy347, yep I’m having twins!! Scan is for next Tuesday (I’ll be 12+5) and so far I have little confidence in the hospital and their abilities to do ‘joined up thinking’!!

They rang me Tuesday to tell me all this information I MUST take with me to the appointment but didn’t tell me appointment details - apparently all this important information is for the combined test which we’ve declined as it’s notoriously unreliable with twins, even more so with donor egg ivf and a big age gap between donor and recipient; plus, we would be unlikely to act on it anyway!!

Heaven knows what they would make of the fact the donor is of Greek heritage (so, despite very low risk factor for DH and I carrying Sickle Cell or Thalassemia, we have to be tested as Greek heritage is a higher risk factor) thankfully our midwife has arranged for the test to be carried out by another hospital in the next county - but DH has to have a blood test which he’s not happy about!!

fluffyunicorns86 · 22/03/2019 06:46

@harryharry glad everything was ok and you heard heart beat so reassuring to hear that. now the waiting around for the scan.

Trinnidad · 22/03/2019 07:56

Hi all - my 12wk scan's coming up on Monday morning, so I'm starting to feel a bit excited, bit nervous. I'm not very good at drinking water so not looking forward to that bit either!

It's so strange - the wait for the scan has felt so long but suddenly it seems to be coming up so fast! Keep your fingers crossed for us 🤞🏻

Doop · 22/03/2019 09:07

Dveryone having dates and scans just highlights why i may be anxious. Having high anxiety anyway, any milestones or appointments do scare me... but even going against my fears, i have phone the gp twice (being told id definitely been referred), the next week i phoned the hub and referred myself, a week later still nothing so rang again and still nothing. What do i need to do to get a booking appointment?! Starting to feel like ive made it all up. Im 10 weeks today.

Doop · 22/03/2019 09:08

And i am thoroughly miserable with sciatica. Had it two weeks now.

HarryPottersSecretSister · 22/03/2019 09:38

@Doop if it's any consolation (it probably isn't) I registered my pregnancy with my GP at 6 weeks pregnant (slightly different system here) and she sent my referral letter to my maternity hospital so I'd be called for my midwife booking in appointment/ scan date.

10 weeks tomorrow and haven't heard a peep.

Woolly17 · 22/03/2019 10:06

@Doop have you got an email confirming your self referral? It should have a reference number on it. Give your hospitals maternity unit a call and quote it - they might be able to help more with that. You should have an appointment letter/email within two weeks of a self referral.

Dyra · 22/03/2019 10:18

I'd check with the hospital now Doop. It can never hurt to ask. At the very least they can confirm they got your referral, and at best, tell you the appointment date and time for good measure.

However, it's not unusual for appointment letters to arrive very close to your appointment date. Might be a case of you're unfortunately getting your scan + booking on the later side of things (12-13 weeks).

fluffyunicorns86 · 22/03/2019 10:47

@doop definitely phone up and find out what is going on even if it is hospital maternity unit as you need to know what is happening. For me I went to the doctors and then made a booking in appointment with midwife through the doctors (I know some places work differently and you have to self refer to hospital). Hope you get it sorted soon hun and am totally with you with being anxious.

Secretlifeofme · 22/03/2019 11:29

Hi all, just checking in to say that although I'm only 8 + 3, I seem to be developing a little bump. Don't know if it's just the extraordinary amount of carbs I seem to be eating (only food group that doesn't make me feel sick it seems) but I am starting to find it hard to hide, which seems a bit early! Anyone else?
