Hi @CowBrow and everyone, thought I would start a new thread since the old one has filled up and I can't find another! If there is one and I've missed it, let me know Smile how's everyone doing?

@angel0071987 it's not until June so I'll be well on the way at that stage (I think about 26 weeks)

Rememberallball · 14/03/2019 09:53

@HarryHarry, I don think it helped that the midwife’s room at the clinic is carpeted so scales more likely to be inaccurate in the first place. Definitely weighed me 1/2 stone heavier as I could see the dial (one of those old clinic scales not a decent set) and she even said “oh, ignore it” when I said how much heavier it put me and that it took my bmi over 30 meaning I’ll have to have the GTT - I may just refuse to do it especially as I know her data is so flawed!!

GinMama1 · 14/03/2019 10:44

@Frizzy1986 pregnancy treatments should be fine at that stage. Definitely get a pregnancy massage if you can. They are amazing. I only had one last time, right at the end, but this time I intend to have them more regularly. If there's a pool you'll be able to use that, and there may be other bits you can do. Hopefully you can at least use it for chill out time!

Sorry to read of the losses in the thread Sad lots of love to everyone and best of luck to everyone else here xx

Has anyone started showing yet? I'm 9+6 and I've always had a little (read: big) podge on my tummy... so much so people have asked if I'm pregnant and offered me seats on the tube way before ever getting pregnant :( - is there anyway to tell if I've got a little bump or if it's just my flab getting flabbier? :(

NeverHadANickname · 14/03/2019 13:26

Hi everyone. I'm 11 weeks today and it is my scan day 😊 I'm so nervous. I'm so scared they'll tell me I have had a MMC or there is something else is wrong.

@saffy347 yes symptoms are definitely still there 🤢😂 also started getting an ache in the pubic bone region on a night. Scan is at 6pm UK time so still a while to wait. I'll probably get there really early and wait in the car park for DH.

@saffy347 I'm worried about that too. I had blood taken on Saturday so they'll go over those today after my scan. I'm 32 and DH is in his forties so not young by any means. Suppose this is just the start of a lot of years worrying about them!

Dyra · 14/03/2019 18:11

Hope your scan went well NeverHadANickname. Smile

@flowersaremyfave I am so, so incredibly sorry.
Please take care of yourself x

@flowersaremyfave
So sorry to hear that. Big hugs.

HarryPottersSecretSister · 15/03/2019 09:13

Just 8 weeks today and I have a private reassurance scan booked for 12.30.
I was absolutely fine all week and was looking forward to it but, since last night, have become a ball of nerves and am so worried and anxious.
Was everyone else like this?

Ignorance is bliss, isn't it? With my first daughter I was young (19) and once I did a pregnancy test and it was positive that was it as far as I was concerned - I was having a baby. A MC or an ectopic pregnancy never even occurred to me.
I suppose my internet searching and relationship wasn't as advanced (AT ALL) back then and I'd never experienced a pregnancy before. I'd never heard of anyone miscarrying because women just didn't talk about it.

Fast forward a few years and a MC and a chemical and more conversations and more information under my belt and I'm terrified.

Please cross your fingers for me (or send calming vibes) x

Woolly17 · 15/03/2019 09:14

I had a day (yesterday) of only minimal sickness and thought - YAY! the end is in sight. I will soon feel like a normal human person again.

Today the universe cackled maliciously and I haven't even made it to the front door. I am sick. I am dizzy (I have low blood pressure anyway and pregnancy makes it lower). I have a headache. I am creeping around the house whinging and trying not to puke everywhere. I've had to book a taxi to go collect my laptop from work so that I can at least keep up with my emails.

HarryPottersSecretSister · 15/03/2019 09:16

Oh @Woolly17 I can't begin to tell you how much I sympathise. You poor love x

Emjm9 · 15/03/2019 09:21

@HarryPottersSecretSister wishing you all the luck for today, let us know how it goes ASAP!

I think every single one of us on here has felt anxiety pre-scan, so you're not alone and it's completely normal to feel that way! X

HarryPottersSecretSister · 15/03/2019 09:22

Oh! Also- I've decided to (attempt to) do slimming world during this pregnancy.
I have form for taking the complete piss out of the 'eating for two' thing during pregnancy and have gained about 5 stone during each.
To be fair, I do think my body is just prone to gaining quickly but I know I could be a bit more sensible.

When my last daughter was a year old, I knocked all weight off and was the slimmest and most comfortable I've ever been.
Maintained for 6 years.

But then gained a few stone back in the last 2 (medication, steroids, mirena, stress and being greedy)
So I started this pregnancy heavier than I had hoped.
The first few weeks had me eating ALL the carbs (baguettes filled with cheese is all I could stomach to kick the nausea away) so I suspect I've gained loads there too (haven't dared weigh myself).
Starting to feel a little better (hope that doesn't jinx it) so am attempting SW.
I did for a few weeks last year but I wasn't very good at it (because of wine 😂👍) but seeing as alcohol is off the table for the foreseeable, I reckon this should work for me.

Haven't went to a meeting - just using all the books at home. I think I'm allowed an extra HxA and Hxb? Does anyone know? Is anyone else doing SW this pregnancy ( @Rememberallball maybe?)

HarryPottersSecretSister · 15/03/2019 09:22

Thanks @Emjm9 xx
Will keep you posted

Woolly17 · 15/03/2019 09:27

@HarryPottersSecretSister - I'm looking forward to and dreading my scan in a couple of weeks too. Terrified it will be bad news - but I also did not book a private scan because I know that before 7 weeks you're unlikely to see anything at all and then it's just not that far till the 12 week scan.

Good luck at the scan and calming soothing vibes sent your way.

HarryPottersSecretSister · 15/03/2019 09:29

And final question- has anyone found anything magical that works for constipation and is safe during pregnancy?

Amazed at how clueless my consultant was on this last Monday.

I have chrons (with constipation) and because the pregnancy hormones are slowing down digestion it's a killer.

GP said to use Fybogel (which is absolutely rubbish)

Consultant and GP could not confirm or deny of Movicol was ok in pregnancy (but I've seen many on the pregnancy board here say their doc said it's fine)

Consultant said I can use lactolose (it isn't great)

I find milk of magnesia absolutely brilliant but don't know if I can use it now.

Did anyone else's doc or midwife recommend anything good?

HarryPottersSecretSister · 15/03/2019 09:32

@Woolly17 so impressed with your self control. I had hoped to hold out until the 12 week one too as it's definitely the most reassuring (I mean, I'll get one today at 8 weeks and hopefully it'll reassure me but I'm also conscious it's still very early days so I won't be reassured for long and won't tell anyone from this 8 week one)

I didn't go for one before 7 weeks as I didn't want an internal.

How far away is your scan?

Woolly17 · 15/03/2019 09:42

@HarryPottersSecretSister It's not self control so much as self preservation. I'm a worrier by nature (and I have issues with anxiety) and I'm working really hard at not feeding that particular monster. Bear in mind that I've taken 8 or 9 pregnancy tests - just in case the first 2 were wrong (it's not the healthiest impulse is it) and now can't take any more because I've run out and the husband made me promise not to buy any more. So I'm pretty sure I'd be the lunatic booking weekly scans, I would not stop at one.

My scan is now 11 days away! And all being well, finally we'll get a proper due date. The midwives think 6th Oct and I think 2nd Oct (last times the IVF clinic said 7th July, midwives said 2nd July and the scan said 30th June - and I gave birth on the 21st).

SunshineSophia · 15/03/2019 10:01

Thanks @saffy347! Yes, I'm trying not to think about the weight and enjoy eating a varied diet for the bubs... but I'm just so impatient to have a proper bump. I don't know, I kind of feel like I have imposter syndrome and without the bump I'm not really pregnant. Its stupid I know Confused damn these weird emotions!
