Hi @CowBrow and everyone, thought I would start a new thread since the old one has filled up and I can't find another! If there is one and I've missed it, let me know Smile how's everyone doing?

Thanks for the welcome, I did name change for this as my previous posts were quite identifying. I love marmite at the best of times but could eat it on toast all day at the moment! I've just ordered 4 jars on amazon because I'm not in the UK and don't have anyone visiting soon. Couldn't risk running out Grin

@flowersaremyfave so so sorry. I had been thinking of you. Take care of yourself.

klanger19 · 13/03/2019 17:42

Hi all! I took a bit of a break for a bit after the last thread ended as I felt I was getting too sucked in! Been trying to stay relaxed until I hit 12 weeks.

9w+3 today. Mainly just so so tired. And always snacking! Totally empathise with those worrying about weigh gain- I've been taking tonnes of fruit and veg to work to snack of but still end up with a cake or similar from the canteen. Must resist! Feel like I'm eating for 3 let alone 2 through the day! But then in the evening I'm not that interested. Feel bad for DH, he's cooked s few things that when I look at them I just can't face...
Midwife appointment on Friday. Anyone tell me what to expect?

Lisalou88 · 13/03/2019 18:06

@klanger19 I am 9+3 today too and also like you I am so so exhausted & also feel like I’m constantly snacking. Feel like I have already put on so much weight. I don’t have my midwife appt for another few weeks and just want to get my date for my 12 week scan now.

GinMama1 · 13/03/2019 18:18

I'm 8 weeks today and have a cold and feel miserable. I came home from work at lunch time and had a 2 hour nap. Ugh this pregnancy thing is hard work! Have my booking in appointment tomorrow.

@Emjm9 yes, I'm the same. Starving and then full so quickly. I have to eat my meals in stages sometimes.

@Saffy347 you can always change your mind and ask to have your baby somewhere else.

@Rememberallball I had EMCS last time so will be asking for ELCS this time. Interested to see how much of a battle I have or if it's all ok'd given my past experience.

CZFR · 13/03/2019 18:23

Urg @GinMama1 I feel for you! Have a really nasty cold and it has taken a massive toll on me! Not being able to take anything and with our immune system being slower with pregnancy it has just been horrible and it is dragging forever!!

Missbdhfc · 13/03/2019 18:23

Add me - 1st baby age 39

HarryHarry · 13/03/2019 19:09

@saffy347 - hi due date buddy! Though I think I might be having another C-section (planned this time!) so I might not make it to 40 weeks.

@klanger19 Is this your first? The first MW appointment is mainly filling in forms about your medical history, taking your blood pressure, etc. - it’s not very exciting!

Another one here who can’t stop eating in the mornings! Hunger and tiredness are my only symptoms so far - I’m 10+1 Smile

sal1987 · 13/03/2019 19:20

Hi everyone, thank you to all you ladies who gave me kind words last night after my (mini) meltdown! I ended up with a migraine which has just about shifted, not fun at all and have dreaded parents evening tomorrow so won't be home until about 8ish! DP is having to work tomorrow night now so already planning my McDonald's on the way home 😂😂😂
Listening to you all, on the whole my symptoms are pretty mild, just extreme tiredness and some nausea that comes and goes all day, either way it's bloody hard work and no wonder a woman goes through it and not a man!!

sal1987 · 13/03/2019 19:21

@flowersaremyfave I'm so sorry for your loss, I hope you're doing ok 💐💐💐

Mummsie1 · 13/03/2019 19:26

@sal1987

I totally get where your coming from I feel like that most days I have never felt so tired. I am also a Sen teacher, also living at home with partner who works long hours, step children and own daughter, I get to rest at around 8pm and by 8:20 I’ll be asleep!

I have told 2 of my tas as I work in a demanding behaviour class, and felt I couldn’t just step back without giving some reason behind it, but it also has been a life saver especially when running out class to be sick or when I look totally exhausted to have 5-10 minutes to recuperate.

I’m just praying for that 12 week lull to fade and energy and less sickness in the 2nd trimester. I’m 10 weeks 4 days today so hopefully not too long to wait

Best of luck with everything!

I'm currently munching on mini cheddar. They are dh's last pack so I feel bad. I did ask if he'd rather I ate his crisps or his crumpets though!
I'm still eating a lot but 2 people have now asked if I've lost weight. I'm wondering if I've lost it from my fave as it definitely going on my tummy. I dread Fridays as its dress down day, but I now only have 2 things I can wear which I purchased the other week at 2 sizes too big.

Went for a short walk with dh, dd and the dog tonight. It's ruined me. My lower tummy feels heavy and achy and I've got some heartburn. I can't wait for the next trimester as last time I definitely remember it felt better.

HarryHarry · 13/03/2019 19:59

@Frizzy1986 Ah Mini Cheddars! I live abroad and miss them so much!

Rememberallball · 13/03/2019 21:08

Thank you @GinMama1; met the midwife today and she said it’s highly likely they will agree with my request for c. section purely based on it being twins.

Was a good appointment today and took well over an hour with all the things she discussed. The only negative was that she weighed me at over 1/2 stone more than I was this morning at SW and also knocked 4cm off my height which has put my BMI over 30 (it’s 28.6 on my digital scales at home) and means I’m going to have to have a GTT at 28 weeks - which can’t be the standard one because I had weight loss surgery 8 years ago so can’t drink sugary lucozade!! She said they may give me a blood glucose monitor for a week and get me to do readings first thing in the morning and at various points during the day.

Blood tests done and, after discussion and in agreement, I’m not going to have the combined test because of the fact it will come up as high risk based on my age and they will make no adjustments for the fact my egg donor is only 25. I don’t want to spend my pregnancy worrying about risks based on inaccurate information!!

I am seeing her again in a month’s time so I will be just under 16 weeks and will also hopefully have been seen by the consultant I’m allocated to. I will then be seen every 2 weeks either by her or the twins team at the hospital. Now I just have to wait for my scan appointment to be sent to me but she said, if I’ve not heard from them by next Thursday, I’m to call her and she will chase them for me!!

Frizzy1986 · 13/03/2019 22:24

Anyone any experiences of spas when pregnant. I've got 2 friends who i've been looking at spa days with. I've tried putting it off for as long as I can but it's on for being booked for June.
The package is an aquathermal journey with steam rooms, saunas, hydrotherapy pools, aromatherapy rooms, and foot massages. I know there are some things I can't do (and it does say on the website that it's not recommended for pregnant women) but I'll be OK just to pick and choose what I do. Instead of doing the full "journey" I can just do the foot massages, the aromatherapy room etc. I'm assuming sauna would be a no, is the hydrotherapy pool a no as well.
I'm not ready to say to them until after the scan and they aren't prepared to put off booking any more (excuses are out which is why we are booking for June)

Baba11 · 13/03/2019 22:38

@Rememberallball did you have any symptoms to indicate twins?

Rememberallball · 13/03/2019 23:11

Hi @Baba11; mine is an IVF pregnancy and I had 2 embryos transferred so it was always a possibility I’d have twins. The post transfer beta hCG levels also indicated it could be the case. It was confirmed at my viability scan at 6+6.

HarryHarry · 14/03/2019 00:43

@Rememberallball - At my first appointment the nurse told me I was 16kg more than my usual weight, thankfully it was a mistake on her part! Perhaps your midwife was wrong too?

givememarmite · 14/03/2019 06:35

@Frizzy1986 I'm going to a spa in 2 weeks with 2 friends, I already had to postpone once so really don't want to do that again but I'll only 9 weeks so also don't want to tell my friends...I'm not a huge fan of saunas so easy to avoid them and the massages are done in private so figured I can get away with just telling the therapist. I will report back on how it all goes!

Baba11 · 14/03/2019 07:31

@Rememberallball oh right. What a beautiful blessing. My doc seems to think I'm measuring big. She says I'm either further along than I think or I'm carrying more than 1. I just don't think I'm lucky enough to have twins so I'm guessing dates may be wrong. But still not had any midwife appointment through yet, so it's a waiting game!

GinMama1 · 14/03/2019 08:33

@Frizzy1986 I think you'll find there's not much you will be able to do. They generally won't let you go in spas, saunas etc or anything that's very warm. Spas are also generally very cautious about risk if they know that you are pregnant. I looked into one last time but they basically told me I couldn't go.

angel0071987 · 14/03/2019 08:57

@Frizzy1986 it totally depends on the spa. Some won't even let you through the door when you're under 12weeks. Others will but you won't be able to use sauna, hot tub, steam room or have many of the massages as the oils they use are not advised during pregnancy. You will have to declare it to them on the form as they don't want to be liable if you subsequently misscary. I'd call them first before booking to see what you can/can't do. But even the mum to be sessions won't be allowed likely before 12weeks.

Frizzy1986 · 14/03/2019 09:03

@givememarmite let me know how it goes.

@ginmama1 hmmm that doesn't fill me with hope. I think it's already being booked so without coming clean there's no way of me avoiding it. I'm just going to have to hope that there is one or 2 things that they let me do or have a pregnancy treatment instead (as they do do them)
