Hi @CowBrow and everyone, thought I would start a new thread since the old one has filled up and I can't find another! If there is one and I've missed it, let me know Smile how's everyone doing?

Sending love @coconutlatte44

Tired after a busy weekend and trying not to wish away this first trimester. I work on Brexit-related stuff so work is crazy, and I'm in no hurry to get to the end of March. I am in a hurry to get to the 12 week scan though!

princesstinnedpeach · 11/03/2019 15:38

@Babydustforall19 I've just seen your question...I didn't have any tests in the house the day I decided to test (with my period 5 days late) so I used an opk after some googling and got a positive, that was what made me go out and get the FRER I got my BFP on!

Baba11 · 11/03/2019 18:06

@coconutlatte44 so sorry to hear your dad news. Everything does happen for a reason. Sending you lots of warm hugs xx

I’m really sorry to here this coconut :( we’re all here for you regardless xxx

I feel really bad asking this now :( just wanting to know if anyone can recommend any stretch mark preventions?

I have my first midwife appointment on Thursday and I’m really nervous - never thought I’d ever be in this position. My previous partner was infertile and although I really wanted children of my own I’d prepared myself to never have them and I accepted it wasn’t his fault. Sadly after 4 years together it was like a switch was flicked and he turned very vile. I have a very small circle of friends and having worked for my new company just 4 months my manager supported me and I took the leap on my own and left them.

14 months later my manager and I are so happy; we “were” due to get married this November but are now looking forwards to a change of plan ;)

Everything I feel feels unusual and there isn’t a second that goes by that I don’t fear this is too good to be true. Sorry for the long post; I’m just so afraid something may go wrong.

I have very mild breast tenderness (half thing it’s physiological) .... and although I feel a little icky I think again it’s physiological .... I feel like I crazy to feel symptoms. I get a few stabbing pains in my right side; nothing dramatic. Sleeping is poor and eating is poor at the moment.

Am I just being paranoid and assuming the worst?

Sorry for the long post ... I find it easier to speak out on here 🙈 I have suffered from depression and still battle anixety

Edhardy3127 · 11/03/2019 22:00

Apologies my typing is really bad lol - I think I crave to have systems. But the grinding pain / stabbing pains in my right side are bothering me .... are they normal?

HarryPottersSecretSister · 12/03/2019 08:57

@Edhardy3127 totally understandable that you feel that way. There's a lot of us here very anxious and worried that something could go wrong. Particularly after everything you've been through, it's not surprising you feel this way 💕

Not sure if it's helpful or not but I'm a bit obsessed with checking the MC stats per week.
It tells me that at 9 weeks, since becoming pregnant, your probability of miscarriage has decreased by 90% (from 30% to 3.5%)
The probability of not miscarrying at this point is 96.5%.
Your pregnancy is statistically far more likely to result in a baby than something going wrong at this point.

If you've not had any bleeding or spotting (and that doesn't always mean something has gone wrong, I know women who have experienced bleeding throughout their pregnancies and have had perfect babies) and you have the symptoms you've listed, I'd honestly try not to worry. Everything sounds really good.

I hope you're ok. This part is so so hard (physically and emotionally).
I'm glad you have your appointment on Thursday- might put your mind at ease.
Is this a booking in appointment or will you be having a scan do you know?

HarryPottersSecretSister · 12/03/2019 08:59

The stabbing pains - are they in your lower stomach?

Mine were quite bad with my first baby as everything was stretching/ making room/ lining was thickening etc

Had them earlier in this pregnancy but I reckon (baby number 4!) that everything is more than adequately stretched at this stage so I don't feel it as much.

HarryPottersSecretSister · 12/03/2019 09:01

Sorry - me again. On stretch marks @Edhardy3127 a lot of people swear by bio oil.
I used it in my first pregnancy (didn't bother with subsequent pregnancies to be honest) and I still have quite a few stretch marks. Still though, I reckon I wasn't consistent enough (they say you need to do it daily).
I've really heard so many say they have none because of it (I also gain way too much weight when pregnant which prob doesn't help things....)

I'm married now so I don't care 😂😂👍

Stretch marks - I think it's mostly genetic tbh. You either get them or you don't! But lots and lots of moisturising product is the best thing. Bio oil is good.

Saffy347 I can only control my morning sickness/nausea by eating constantly. So yes, totally with you.

womaninkent · 12/03/2019 12:48

@saffy347 totally with you. I can currently manage about an hour and a half between snacks. This is why half my clothes no longer fit. The only sensible advice I’ve seen is to try to snack on healthy things. I’m not sure that’s really helping other than ending up in the middle of the night googling whether it is possible to overdose on almonds (it is!).

I'm having all the cravings but very little appetite because I feel sick. Hoping that the nausea will start to get better soon.

I used bio oil religiously in my first pregnancy (am prone to stretch marks) and it seems to have made a difference so I'm using it again this time.

Frizzy1986 · 12/03/2019 13:38

@saffy347 Omg I'm total marmite crazy as well! That saltiness takes the edge off. My tummy rumbles within an hour of eating and then I start to feel shit. I've had to start an apple whilst cooking my lunch as otherwise I might not be able to stomach my lunch. People must suspect with all the random foods.

Although someone did say it looked like I'd lost weight 😂 😂 😂 which by this photo its totally a no go. I've got a bit of podge generally, but it's totally clustered, yet is not hard. I like it when it gets hard.
I'm trying to snack on healthy things but it's not happening. I am eating fruit and veg and try and head for an apple first but it doesn't always do the job, so then some crisps appear (salt and vinegar square or mini cheddars)

@saffy347 I'm only 10+4 😳 It is baby number 2 though so not sure if that's something to do with it. I was wearing tights, and leggings and a vest top pulled over. If I remove any of those items it's just a blob of flab!

womaninkent · 12/03/2019 15:14

@saffy347 and @frizzy1986 I have eaten so much marmite toast. I almost cried when we ran out of marmite yesterday. If this baby doesn’t like marmite when they’re older something has gone very wrong.
