Hi @CowBrow and everyone, thought I would start a new thread since the old one has filled up and I can't find another! If there is one and I've missed it, let me know Smile how's everyone doing?

Thanks @Emjm9!! I am so pleased, obviously we're not out of the woods yet but it feels so much more positive now we have a heartbeat!

Ahhh so fab @Secretlifeofme I'm loving these updates from people who have had scans! Congratulations!

HarryPottersSecretSister · 11/03/2019 10:55

@saffy347 I don't know, I've always chalked it down to the fact the UK seem to do things very differently to here:

I've never been told the heart rate in any of my pregnancies,
I've never been told what my HCG levels are in any of my pregnancies,
I've never been offered any routine abnormality testing.
Etc

Maybe it depends where in the UK you are?

@secretlifeofme huge congrats! That's great news.
@saffy347 I've only had a private scan and they didn't measure the heartbeat, only noted that there was one. It was the same in my last pregnancy as well.
I expect it is dependant on the policies that different trusts abide by and the private scan companies too. They'll all work differently. I'm wishing the next 2 weeks away as scan is next Friday. I'm terrified and half want a private scan at the weekend but dh has vetoed it which I do understand.

Secretlifeofme · 11/03/2019 11:14

@princesstinnedpeach thank you! Flowers

@saffy347 I live in China, plus I've had three miscarriages before. They are very cautious here and keen to monitor as much as possible I think - I've never been pregnant in the UK but I think it's pretty different. I hope you're not too anxious - I know it can be tough when you're not sure what's going on Flowers

I am 4 days late for AF and have read online that sometimes ovulation test strip can also be indicator of pregnancy. I did one today and the test line was darker than the control line, would anyone say this is a good indication?

@saffy347 have you checked out groupon for baby scan deals. I found one near me for £19 on there and another for £29 so we managed to go cheap. And you are right, it's not going to give me any different news, it's just being anxious as in desperate to tell dd and work and friends now. Fed up hiding!

Edhardy3127 · 11/03/2019 11:39

@HarryPottersSecretSister haha thank you so much. Thing is I’ve been late and irregular for nearly 12 months so it never occurred to me to do a test until I went to the doctors with heart burn (like super super burny like could melt steal) .... they looked me a blood test to check for an infection but some of the questions he asked made me wonder .... so left it a few mores days and did a test. My heart beat went from 0-100 in a millisecond; never felt I’d be lucky enough to have children. Husband and I have planned and planned but it just never happened.

We stopped actively trying in January and we’ve booked our Vegas wedding for November 2019! We began being protection again mid January but turns out we were too late!

It really is true what they say .... the moment you stop trying; it will happen.

I miss Bacon .... no idea what’s going to happen to our holiday yet .... but I miss bacon more :(

@saffy347 oh no I didn't think it was unkind at all. Sorry if my post came across that way. Trying to secretly type at work lol.

womaninkent · 11/03/2019 12:00

@secretlifeofme so pleased for you!
@edhardy3127 welcome, i’m also due on the 14th!

HarryPottersSecretSister · 11/03/2019 12:03

Aw @Edhardy3127 I'm absolutely over the moon for you! 😍 such a lovely surprise to get.
Really sympathizing re heartburn. Haven't experienced it this time round (yet) but I was an absolute gaviscon junkie on my last pregnancy (not sure if it's an old wives tale but she did happen to come out with the biggest head of black hair I've ever seen in my life- so much so that the midwives were popping into my room to 'see the baby with loads of hair that was born last night')

HarryPottersSecretSister · 11/03/2019 12:05

@saffy347 totally with you on the continuity. I used to worry that I didn't seem to be told as much as others on here (with my previous pregnancies) and sometimes would have loved to know these things but then on the other hand (given my personality) figured it was probably for the best as if gave me one less thing to obsess about.

coconutlatte44 · 11/03/2019 12:06

Hi all,
Thanks so much for all your well wishes and support this past week. Unfortunately did not get good news this morning, no sign of a baby in the sac.

A lot of tears. Just trying to tell myself that it wasn't meant to be this time and that it's only a matter of time before it works out for us.

Best of luck to all of you on the remainder of your journeys ❤️❤️❤️

Secretlifeofme · 11/03/2019 12:27

I'm so very sorry, @coconutlatte44. That's such sad news. Be kind to yourself xx
