@ChaosMoon From what I can tell a wellbeing scan is like a 20 week scan but at a later date - they check the baby's head size, placenta blood supply, amniotic fluid, movements etc.

MayaLH · 10/03/2019 16:20

God, I had an awful nights sleep last night. Baby was super active and due to the Polyhydramnios it was a bit difficult to breathe and my stomach felt so tight and uncomfortable.

Clare4567 · 10/03/2019 21:39

Sorry to hear that @MayaLH. Hope you have a better night tonight.

Blgb · 12/03/2019 17:16

Hey everyone just had my midwife appointment and found out I've put on 1.8st which shocked me as I've not been getting weighed 😂
Baby boy is still a chunky monkey measuring above his top line on the growth chart.
Anyone else mentally preparing for a beast child? Lol

Junebug55 · 13/03/2019 22:01

@Blgb Haha. I understand completely! I am constantly worried about having a 10lb+ baby and how I will get it out! 😂 My midwife assures me its very unlikely as I'm measuring within the 'normal' lines but still, your mind can't help but go there can it!

We bought our pram at the weekend! Finally! Still too nervous to open the box because of all that superstition stuff (though I'll probably cave by the weekend) but it all feels very real now! Less than 6 weeks to go and baby is throwing some serious shapes in there - anyone else got some weird bump shapes going on recently, I have a proper cone bump going on right now - not sure what that means position wise!

Springmummy19 · 13/03/2019 22:38

Hello ladies. I've been rather absent from here due to being on leave. Last week i did sweet FA all week. This week i got the hospital bags packed, I de cluttered the whole kitchen. Put all my spices, lentils ect in new jars and filled up about 3 bin liners worth of recycling stuff.

Past 2 days ive been like a homeless scavenger with no where to go. We have decorators come round to re do the living room and my bedroom. The front room is full of the stuff from the living room and my bedroon is all covered on sheets so I'm living from a bag and spending the day sat in BILs room and sleeping at hubbys aunts while the paint fumes calm down. Should all be done by Friday so we can re arrange the bedroom and get the cot all set up. I'm so excited!

Went to see the midwife today. Got my 35 weeks scan and then Friday i have to see the GD consultant. Everything seems to be going well but i did have a massive anxiety attack when the midwife said 'at your next appointment we'll discuss your birthing plan. Wwwttthhhh. Its coming round sooo quick.

Wel have a matter of weeks to go ladies!

ChaosMoon · 14/03/2019 09:28

Well I hope it all goes well @Clare4567. How lovely to get another preview of your baby! Do you have a date?

I hope you've had some better night's sleep @MayaLH. I've been finding the lack of sleep horrendous too.

@Junebug55 I'm with you on the crazy shapes. Mine's been distracting people in meetings because it's so active! 😂

I know people who were told their babies would be huge or tiny and all ended up in the normal range. I hope that happens for you @Blgb!

That sounds like a great couple of weeks @Springmummy19! If not the homeless scavenger bit. 😁 That's going to be so great to have everything done!

I discussed my birth plan with my midwife last week and today I start mat leave, so I couldn't agree more. Things are happening so quickly!

Today I know I should rest but I'm looking round the house and seeing 101 things I want to clean / tidy /sort. I think this may be the first pangs of nesting kicking in! Or I've just let the house get really messy this week...

MayaLH · 14/03/2019 15:47

Thank you, yeah some nights are better than others but when you’ve had a lack of sleep several nights in a row it’s awful!
@Blgb I’m expecting a big baby too, at my last couple of appointments I’ve been told she’s above the average size for how far along I am which wasn’t overly surprising as big babies run in the family 😩😂
@Junebug55 my baby has gotten into some weird positions before causing my bump to go all lop sided so I know what you mean!

MayaLH · 14/03/2019 16:05

Also I had a scan the over day and my polyhydramnios is classed as severe as my fluid levels are so much higher than average which is scary to hear but they assured me that baby is looking healthy. I’m 33 weeks today but measuring at 41 weeks as well, I literally look like I swallowed a watermelon!

Blgb · 14/03/2019 17:14

@MayaLH haha me too! A customer at work said "oooh didn't know you were pregnant"
I said "I'm not I just put a basketball up my top when i get up for the attention" 😂
Ahh well we'll all find out soon enough!

MayaLH · 14/03/2019 18:00

It’s crazy to see your body change so much! I’ve always been pretty slim and now not only have I got this huge bump, I’ve gained wait everywhere else, not complaining though as it’s all worth it in the end.

Clare4567 · 14/03/2019 19:03

@ChaosMoon Thanks! It is exciting, always get nervous about scans though. It's Friday, the day baby turns 34 weeks.

So lovely to hear about everyone's nesting, whether it's planned or hormone driven! I'm hoping to get at least a bit obsessive about cleaning and tidying at some point, as right now I really can't be bothered!

MayaLH · 14/03/2019 22:18

Whenever I have braxton hicks I swear my baby goes nuts right after and I’m just wondering if anyone else gets that or if it’s just me?

Buttons28 · 15/03/2019 11:23

@MayaLH I've been getting regular Braxton Hicks but haven't actually noticed if it's making baby more more. I'm getting them more in the evenings so will pay more attention to baby's reaction tonight

I really have underestimated how tired I would become in these later stages of pregnancy. Really feeling like the first trimester tiredness has come back in full force! Only two more weeks of work to get through then I can nap whenever I want 🙂

ChaosMoon · 15/03/2019 11:50

Good luck today @Clare4567. I know what's mean about scans but I'm sure it'll all be fine. Have a wonderful time seeing your bubba.

I'm not sure if mine is actually more active when I have Braxton Hicks but I certainly feel it more kick acutely then!

I hope your last two weeks go well @Buttons28. I know what you mean about the tiredness. I've found the last few weeks exhausting.

I finished work yesterday! It's both terrifying and awesome in equal measure! Just putting round the house today, trying to remember how to take it easy!

Unicorn234 · 15/03/2019 20:20

I finished work today... So glad about it cus I'm knackered 😂
Turning 36 weeks on Tuesday, they want me to be induced around 39 weeks so just over 3 weeks to go 😊 so exciting and terrifying lol

ChaosMoon · 15/03/2019 20:36

That's great news @Unicorn234! I've been so emotional this afternoon I cried because I couldn't decide what to eat. DH was working from home, thank goodness. As he said, it's such a big adjustment, finishing work. I think it all just hit me. I hope you hold it together better than I did!

How lovely to have a more concrete date. That's so exciting!

OP posts:
Unicorn234 · 15/03/2019 20:38

@ChaosMoon the girls at work were really emotional bless them but I just feel like I'm going off on holiday 😂 it's not registering in my head that my whole life is about to change and I'm going to have this little person to look after 24/7

Helga55 · 15/03/2019 21:12

Was due April 9th, but after another scan cos I was measuring 2 weeks ahead, it turns out I've got polyhydramnios, so now being induced Wednesday when I'll be 37 weeks. Luckily the fluid isn't hugely over the average, but still a bit of a worry that there's an underlying reason for it Sad Baby wasn't measuring huge, 6.15 a few days ago, so should be around 7 1/2 when born, just hoping everything will turn out ok

Im worried about having to stay in hospital cos they want me there when my waters go to keep an eye on the cord to make sure it doesn't prolapse, and upset my 'planned in my head' birth, staying at home as long as poss', water birth, more relaxed non hospital environment isn't going to happen now, also that my OH won't be able to stay with me all the time, will be glad when it's over now tbh

Unicorn234 · 17/03/2019 12:43

Hey ladies hope your all well.

Just wanted to let you all know that my gorgeous baby boy arrived yesterday at 35+4. Very spontaneous birth. I wish you all the luck in the world, it really is an amazing feeling xx

Blgb · 17/03/2019 12:54

@Unicorn234 arghhhhhh so exciting you get to be the first! Congratulations! Let us see him! How was the birth? 😍

ChaosMoon · 17/03/2019 12:58

Oh my god,@Unicorn234 that's amazing, congratulations!

How was the birth and how are you doing now? Does he have a name? Are we allowed to see a picture? Sorry, trying not to bombard you with questions, just so excited for you!

@Helga55b I'm so sorry things aren't going according to plan. I really hope it goes smoothly on Wednesday and there's nothing alarming causing this. I know a few women who had that and everything was fine though - I'm sure your little one will be ok too. (And sorry I didn't see this before now!) Just think, this time next week, you'll be holding your baby too.

Anyat212 · 17/03/2019 13:10

Omg congrats unicorn how lovely! How’s he doing? Hope you’re okay?

Sorry I’ve been really quiet the last few weeks I’m struggling badly with the dreaded constipation lately Sad 36 + 1 weeks and I’ve definitely got the famous ‘waddle’ when trying to walk! Hope you ladies are okay!

Unicorn234 · 17/03/2019 15:29

The Labour and birth went very well 😊 still in hospital as he's considered premature. He's in an incubator with light as he's got abit of jaundice but hopefully that goes soon. I had gestational diabetes and he's passed all his blood sugars which I'm so happy about 😊
I was in the bath Friday night (last day at work before maternity) stood up to dry myself and my mucus plug was in the bath. Rang triage and told me to come in. As I got to triage my waters started to go. Started contractions at 1.35am and he was here by 12.54pm yesterday. He weighs 5lb4oz 😊😊 such an amazing feeling ladies.
