We got the limit ladies! Thought I'd start a second thread.

51Sunflower · 02/03/2019 09:39

@Springmummy19 glad all went well with the scan. I've got my 32 week scan on Friday. Fingers crossed the insulin has kept him to a good size!
I'm really enjoying the kicks and other wriggles that he is doing. It's one of the things that's keeping me smiling.
I'm in Berkshire. Looks like we are spread far and wide. Its interesting to see the differences of care across the country. My consultant wants to induce me at 38 weeks but I'm not keen. I'm well apart from this PEP condition and GD. I really wanted to try and labour in water..... We'll see I guess

Junebug55 · 02/03/2019 20:52

Nottinghamshire over here! 🙋‍♀️

@chaosmoon I'm finding the kicks/movements really painful at the moment too. I'm assuming its all normal but its definitely really uncomfortable. Feels like baby is running out of room already and theres technically still 7 weeks to go! Eeek.

blh23 · 02/03/2019 21:25

@Junebug55 another fellow Nottingham gal here! 8 weeks and counting to go!

Blgb · 04/03/2019 09:24

Morning! How is everyone feeling?
Going to pack the majority of my hospital bag today makes it seem a lot more real.
It's going to be the best and most painful holiday I've ever packed for 😂

Springmummy19 · 05/03/2019 12:53

@51Sunflower i work in slough... well used to. off work now until next year. its day 2 and I am so bored. My plan tomorrow is to get the paint for our bedroom and Thursday I'm cleaning and re arranging the kitchen. Today I've not done much and I'm worried if I do everything this week,I'll have 5-6 weeks of literallty nothing to do

baby is a lot more active now at night time and the other day I got a hard core punch and clearly felt baby's fist and it kinda freaked me out. The only thing bewtween my and my baby is my own skin which in its self is asurreal thought.

I have just been throwing things I need into my hospital bag but next week I plan on organisisng it and getting it fully ready

Did anyone attecnt the baby show at the Excel? I am so glad I hadnt already ordered my cot, found my cot, bouncer and baby carrier and in total it was £150 cheaper at the show.

Buttons28 · 05/03/2019 18:06

Hi guys! Glad to hear recent scans are well and the end is getting closer for us all!

I'm kinda jealous of the ones already on maternity leave as I'm so done with work now. I've still got to get to the end of March and it feels so far away.

Currently 33 weeks so I keep looking at it as hopefully baby will be here in less than 10 weeks (counting in a two week overdue scenario) it's just so hard not knowing when it's going to happen. Also Looking forward to being able to put my shoes on without a struggle after the birth haha!

I'm based in Cheshire.
Going to go to the Manchester baby show which is in the middle of March. Looking forward to having a good browse. Already have my pram (have stored it in baby's room and I have never heard of the superstition until now 🤭) and all of the bigger bits sorted already so hopefully I can resist buying things I don't actually need.

Had a tour of the labour ward the other night. Has made me feel better about going in as the rooms have more of a comfortable feel to them than I was expecting

I just can't believe April is next month !!!! 😁😬😮😁😂

ChaosMoon · 06/03/2019 06:01

Tell me about it @Junebug55! I read the other day that they'll put on 28g a day from now on. How will we fit that in???

Ha ha, you're so right @Blgb! Did you get everything in one bag? I just don't see how we'll manage that!

That's such a good deal @Springmummy19! Thought about going but we don't have much more to get. I know where you're coming from with mat leave. I start next week but I'm not good at doing nothing. I'm getting a 1 month gym membership so I can go for a swim most days, just to get me out of the house.

@Buttons28 I spent 10 minutes yesterday telling DH how exciting it was going to be to reach my feet again. 😂

I've got an active birth class next week, which will hopefully include a tour of the birth suit, of its not too busy. Have started to be drawn towards the idea of a home birth though. Can't decide if it's just some sort of prenatal madness...

ChaosMoon · 08/03/2019 06:48

I promised myself I wouldn't think too much about my due date but oh my god it's now 1 month away! Rein it in Chaos, rein it in...

OP posts:
Hopeislost · 08/03/2019 16:40

@ChaosMoon I'm taking a suitcase! There's no way that I'll be able to fit everything in one bag, especially with a pack of nappies and some giant maternity pads!

ChaosMoon · 08/03/2019 17:00

@Hopeislost I'm not even sure i can even keep it all to one suitcase! 🤦

OP posts:
Junebug55 · 08/03/2019 20:07

@chaosmoon @hopeislost I'm so glad I'm not the only one unable to pack light!! 😂🙈

Got my iron tablets today, ferrous sulphate. Looked online and it seems like all they do is give you a dodgy stomach! Not looking forward to that!

@chaosmoon @buttons28 I didn't even know the hospitals offered tours so that is very useful to know! I've just had a Google and it looks like my hospital offers an active birth workshop and a water birth workshop which might be worth booking on to, hopefully they'll be spaces left! I've not really considered a water birth yet but it might be good to understand more about them. Is anyone else planning a water birth?

ChaosMoon · 08/03/2019 20:34

Yes! It's the one thing I know I really want. I just love being in hot water and I've always found it provides huge amounts of relief for back pain etc.

I hope you don't have side effects from the tablets. If they've got the dose right, you should be ok. Xxx

OP posts:
Blgb · 09/03/2019 07:54

@Junebug55 I was but have already been told no so that's out.
@ChaosMoon I've got a suitcase about the size of one you'd take abroad and it's full, probably gonna look stupid when I turn up with it and other experienced mums are there with an overnight bag 😂

Clare4567 · 09/03/2019 12:14

Yep I'm also going to have a massive suitcase plus other bags! Unless I vacuum pack everything... My OH wants an overnight bag too!

We've been advised to get a 'wellbeing' scan so got that booked for next week, when I'll be 34 weeks. Will be intersting to see what the LO actually looks like because from the kicks all over the place I'm imagining a baby octopus in there.

MayaLH · 09/03/2019 12:24

Hi everyone, not due in April but due at the very start of May (2nd) with my 1st! Very nervous as I’m quite young and this wasn’t a planned pregnancy but I’m also excited to meet this little one.

MayaLH · 09/03/2019 12:40

I will be delivering in April however as I’ll be induced early due to having what’s known as Polyhydramnios pregnancy which means I have too much amniotic fluid.

Clare4567 · 09/03/2019 14:23

Hi @MayaLH Welcome. I'm due right at the end of April, but might actually give birth in May. Getting close. How's it going for you?

sofasandcoffeetables · 09/03/2019 14:53

@MayaLH how early have they said they will induce you? I also have Polyhydramnios but not got a plan for the end yet seeing consultant next week.

MayaLH · 09/03/2019 15:57

It’s been okay so far, had a rough start as I suffered from a lot of morning sickness but now that’s over it’s much better although the Polyhydramnios does make it difficult to breath at times among other symptoms. I haven’t actually got a specific date yet but they are thinking about inducing me at around 36-38 weeks based on how I’m doing.

Unicorn234 · 09/03/2019 18:22

Does anyone know if you have to have a birth plan? Went for a tour around the hospital this morning and the midwife was talking about a birth plan however when I last saw my midwife, it was a stand in midwife and she's booked my next appointment for 4th April. However I'm 39 weeks on the 9th April and I've been told I'll be induced around that time so not sure what's going to happen in terms of a birth plan

Blgb · 10/03/2019 08:10

@Unicorn234 I think they're supposed to talk birth plans at 35-36 weeks arnt they? I have mine Tuesday and assume that's what we will discuss. I'd ring the one you normally see and see what she says? 🤷‍♀️

Blgb · 10/03/2019 08:15

Also just wanted to share my annoyance that twice yesterday I was rejected from buying canestan cream just because I was pregnant! Ended up sending the other half in the end. Why do people think its upto them to decide what you do to your body when your pregnant. If I had to wait to see a doctor I'd be suffering for days and it was only external! 😡

Unicorn234 · 10/03/2019 08:31

@Blgb okay thanks I think I'll ring her tomorrow 😊
I've been rejected from buying some cream also, so annoying. Luckily I could get it off the shelf

ChaosMoon · 10/03/2019 08:45

Ooh, @Clare4567 vacuum packing is genius! Although I'm not sure how we'll get it all home again! 😂 What's a wellbeing scan?

Welcome to club April @MayaLH. I hope the polyhydramnios doesn't cause too many complications.

@Unicorn234 @Blgb we discussed basic birth plans at my 36wk appointment (at 35weeks...) Things like wanting a water birth, whether I wanted bit K as an injection, stuff like that. At my antenatal class, they said it was a good idea to add a bullet point list of what I wanted (in an ideal world) to my notes. They were very firm about it being birth prep, not a plan though.

That's so rude about the cream. I hate the assumption that we women are too stupid to make educated decisions about our bodies.

Unicorn234 · 10/03/2019 08:55

@ChaosMoon that's great, I'll deffo ring tomorrow and see what she says as at my last appointment it was a stand in midwife and she might not of been aware that we haven't spoke about it.
However I'm meant to have midwife appointments every 2 weeks now according to Google anyway and not leave it that long
