At work night outs I just had a glass of fizz which I sipped then it was switched with an empty one and I moved on to G&T with extra T and no G. No one noticed. Christmas Day and Boxing Day are going to be more of an issue. I don't want to tell the family yet as 1. They are such gossips and everyone would know before we told them. 2. I would get messages every day asking "how are you today?" I had it at the end of my pregnancy and I HATED it. Stop making me relive my crappy feelings.

JenMumma · 16/12/2018 11:08

@KMic & @ScotsBaby2 oh my goodness you two are drinking ninjas ! Totally stealing all of your stealthy tips.

Hope everyone's feeling ok today. I'm constipated yet could eat a scabby horse between two mattresses.

Need to move my bedroom around because I had a dream that midget pidgeons (about 1000 of them) chewed through the ceiling to hide their wheelbarrow and so light fitting fell on and crushed us. Great x x

KMic · 16/12/2018 11:28

@JenMumma 🤣🤣🤣🤣 too funny!

I'm spending my day trying to get on top of the Christmas wrapping! Still no major symptoms for me.

7yearslater · 16/12/2018 11:56

Hello! Can I join? Got a BFP on Wednesday after 3 years of trying. Thought I'd be thrilled but I'm terrified we've made a big mistake - I've got a 7 year old and I don't know if I can cope with the sleepless nights again!

KMic · 16/12/2018 12:22

Hi @7yearslater ....aww it's always daunting but if you already have a 7 year old you know that it's worth it in the end! Welcome to the group! There are some lovely supportive mums to be here to help you along your journey x

Chocolate89 · 16/12/2018 12:27

Hi @7yearslater congratulations and welcome! I know it can be v daunting, i have a 10 year too, just just keep thinking what a help they will be! I know my dd would be so happy to finally have a sibling! Stay positive, babies are always a little bit terrifying but they bring so much love and joy xxxx

Congratulations @7yearslater ! I know what you mean. This is a surprise pregnancy for me and I have a 7 year old and a soon to be 5 year old. Life just got so much simpler with the girls, they are independent, sleepless nights are finally over and DH and I were excited about doing more long haul traveling etc. I'm still super excited about what's In store for us though. My girls are going to be like little mummies if this bean sticks. It's their dream come true. DD2 even asked Santa for a baby in mummies tummy (ironically before the BFP).

7yearslater · 16/12/2018 13:02

Thanks ladies - I've had massive panic attacks this morning about it as I loathed pregnancy so much last time and my anxiety is bringing back all the negativity. I spoke to a friend who had an 8 year gap and she was saying how much easier it was second time round and her youngest was so chilled out. I've always thought my son was a wonderful baby but actually looking back he wouldn't nap unless on my lap or in the car, took hours to go to sleep and was up 3 times a night until I did controlled crying at a year. He also screamed blue murder everytime i put him in the car. So maybe he wasn't so easy after all! And I coped just fine with him. Trying to stay positive! Keep telling myself if it sticks then I get to add more love and fun to our family, and if it doesn't then I already have a beautiful family. I love hearing all your journeys - makes me feel much less alone!

Belle2008 · 16/12/2018 13:10

My daughter was 9 when I had my second DD she's so great with her and at that age they do alot for themselves so it's not bad at all. Going to have my hands full this time my baby will be 16 months when this one arrives 😁 xx

7yearslater · 16/12/2018 13:23

Congratulations! I just love my sleep so much the thought of not having it fills me with dread! But my mum is round the corner and my MIL is round twice a week to look after my DS so I'll just have to abuse their kind nature's and have a nap when they are round! Was there any jealousy between your 9yo and your 16month old?

JenMumma · 16/12/2018 13:28

@7yearslater 👋 hi and congratulations ! I know exactly what you mean. I'm shitting myself thinking that the last time I was pregnant was 12 YEARS AGO !!!!! None of my friends have this age gap 😫. I'm thinking though that we have a ready made babysitter hee hee 😉🙂 x x

7yearslater · 16/12/2018 13:33

Wow 12 years! You definitely will have an extra helper once baby arrives! I'm also going to be 41 when baby comes so I'm bricking it about that too Shock

avacadooo · 16/12/2018 13:41

@7yearslater I thought it was just me freaking out! It's my first and I can't stop thinking why have we done this cause I was about to apply for an nhs job and now I'm worried about money and that I need my mat leave but probably won't be able to work.

On the age gap front I'm the youngest, brother is 10 years older sister is 8years older and there's loads of photos of them bathing me and changing me and as I got older it was so cool to have siblings that much older than me cause I would get taken on cool adventures without my parents and they didn't mind babysitting me. And I always had them to stick up for me and drive me to school 😂
I've also seen how my niece who's 8 years older than my 3 yr old nephew acts around him, she's fiercely protective of him, holds his hand when she walks him to nursery and her and my 10 yr old nephew absolutely adore their little brother (mainly because he is the funniest kid ever) and now the boys are like a double act, but my sister had them help out with feeding him and changing him and they constantly wanted to cuddle him when he was born! So you guys with the big age gap you'll be fine, you've got an army of mini nannies!!

7yearslater · 16/12/2018 13:45

@avacadooo you aren't alone with the worrying! I've done it before and am still terrified after such a long gap. I know though that I wouldn't have coped with a small gap between children so I'm glad we have a gap. You'll be just fine - these things have a way of sorting themselves out. Do you have family around to help?

avacadooo · 16/12/2018 13:51

@7yearslater yeah I know that we won't have to buy much cause our parents but we live in a city so going down to one wage will cripple us a bit and dh admitted he was really worried about me last night and said If I can't continue he'll just get a second job but the thought of him working so much and leaving me with the baby is awful! My mum lives an hour and a half away and his family are a three hour drive.
I'm just emotional today 😫

EverythingNow · 16/12/2018 14:00

@belle2008 that's the same as my first 3! 9yrs between dd1 and 2 and 17m between dd2 and dd3. They are now 18, 9 and 7 (will be 8 by the time number 4 is here)

7yearslater · 16/12/2018 14:35

How was the first 9 year age gap?!

EverythingNow · 16/12/2018 14:42

@7yearslater. Fine. She was pretty helpful and never got jealous as she could understand her sibling needed lots of attention. I did have the school run to contend with but it made not very organised me get into a pretty organised routine, meant I had 1-1 time with dd2 and could go to baby groups.

There'll be 8 years this time so expecting it to be much the same except with 3 olders!

Notanotherpawpatrol · 16/12/2018 15:16

@jenmumma my parents had a similar gap. My sister is 5 months older than my daughter.... Me and my mum were pregnant at the same time!
There is a 32yo, 31yo, 28yo, 27yo, 11yo and an 8 year old. We were fine with the babies, no jealousy at all 😂 and this baby will grow up able to do fun stuff with the older sibling. When this baby is 12 your oldest will be 24! Able to go and have all sorts of sibling adventures!

ScotsBaby2 · 16/12/2018 15:22

Sooooo tired.

KMic · 16/12/2018 15:37

Me too @ScotsBaby2 ... I find I tend to me fine all morning / early after and then 3pm hits and I'm in need of a nap!! Fortunately I've had a productive day with the Christmas wrapping (which is now complete) so I'm able to just chill in the evenings after work this week.

Getting super excited for my first doctors apt tomorrow morning!!

Whoopsies · 16/12/2018 15:42
