@avacadooo oh yes I remember! That's really good you've got time to relax and rest at home whilst feeling so rough. I'm hoping I will feel bit better ready for Monday. Oooo perfect that's good of him, my DP got me some ready salted Pringles and lemonade which seem to be taking the edge off slightly. I've got these anti sickness bands too to help with nausea but not sure how effective they are yet!!

canonlyhopexo · 15/12/2018 17:42

@mummagiles bless you i think that's one of the things that make it so tricky early one the unpredictability of it all hope you feel better soon xx

avacadooo · 15/12/2018 17:43

@canonlyhopexo how are you finding work?
I'm actually sat here with salt and vinegar Pringles munching through the tub 😂

canonlyhopexo · 15/12/2018 17:46

Ooo yeah salt and vinegar sound really good too! @avacadooo I wasn't feeling too bad so I was there Monday-Wednesday but I woke up Thursday just feeling so ill I didn't go in. I keep feeling faint and light headed so I said I'd go in once I had come round a bit but they said just stay at home as I was due to leave early anyway for midwife and Friday I stayed off too but know I can't really do that long term so going to go in Monday armed with all the snacks!

avacadooo · 15/12/2018 17:53

@canonlyhopexo ooh yeah! How did you get on at the midwife?? You still feeling faint?
Just buy tubs and tubs of Pringles! They have pig in blanket ones now!

KMic · 15/12/2018 17:57

Ok ... so I'm now starting to worry about my lack of symptoms the last couple of days ... I'm 5+5 ... should I be concerned?! Have a doctors apt booked Monday morning anyway - it's my first one so hopefully they will reassure me! Just have no idea how my body is meant to react as it's my first ever pregnancy! Blush

canonlyhopexo · 15/12/2018 17:57

@avacadooo yeah it was ok thank you she bombarded with a lot of info. I got a little bit emotional saying how we wasn't expecting things to happen so quickly due to endometriosis diagnosis and coupled with feeling rough I felt overwhelmed and she then started talking about the tests we can have done for downs Edwards syndrome etc and I said we would talk about that privately together and I felt a bit pushed into making a decision there and then. But I understand why. Still feeling faint off and on but she said just make sure I'm snacking and drinking as much as I can.
Yes Pringles and twiglets as well i find they're really good!

canonlyhopexo · 15/12/2018 17:59

@KMic I can understand why you'd be worried hun but just try to remind yourself that it's still so early most people don't even know they're pregnant at this stage. I know loads of people who have had absolutely no symptoms at all and been perfectly fine xx

Fae1989 · 15/12/2018 17:59

Evening ladies,

Hope everyone is okay this evening. Just catching up with the thread!

Congratulations to all of the new joiners :)

@canonlyhopexo - right there with you with symptoms! I get so tired at night that I have to lie down there and then or I feel like I'll pass out :/ nausea comes in delightful waves but boiled sweets seem to help; not sure the ensuing diabetes will be any good though! I'm 6+3 today.

DT1390 - Sorry you had to go through that. How amazing you got to see your little one though! :)

@avacadooo - sorry the nausea is constant for you. I'm finding lemon sherbert boiled sweets are working a treat for keeping mine at bay. No weird cravings or desires yet but there's time!

@MummaGiles - sorry to hear that. Hope they ease soon x

Does anyone know when it's 'safe' to have a bath or does it not matter? Been out in the icy wet weather today and can't seem to warm up?

Fae1989 · 15/12/2018 18:00

KMic - try not to worry. All our bodies are different. I didn't get any symptoms (apart from spots - thanks world!) in the first weeks and only started with nausea and sore boobs in week 6 - they just came out of nowhere!

canonlyhopexo · 15/12/2018 18:01

Thank you for the recommendation @Fae1989 will try some hard boiled sweets. I asked the same qu to my midwife re baths and she said warm bath is ok but not too hot as it "poaches" the baby!!! 🤦🏽‍♀️ i was horrified she said that

JenMumma · 15/12/2018 18:11

It's really sick but when you say poaches the baby, I just think of a man in a deer stalker with a shotgun just sneaking past nursery's Elma Fudd style🤷🏼‍♀️
Also a bear trap riddled with dummies 🙄🤷🏼‍♀️ x x x

KMic · 15/12/2018 18:18

Thanks ladies ... think I would have had to tell people by now if it wasn't for this group even if it's just for the reassurance! I'm going to try and remain none-anxious!

canonlyhopexo · 15/12/2018 18:18

@JenMumma I thought it was an absolutely ridiculous thing to say to an over emotional newly expectant mother! I just thought ok so don't do anything too hot or the baby won't like it and tried to push the poached thought to the back of my mind!

Fae1989 · 15/12/2018 18:25

@canonlyhopexo - I tried drinking ice cold water (not the nicest thing in this rubbish weather) but that was so lovely and relieving as well! Poaches them?! What an awful phrase! Yikes. I love hot baths :/ but don't want any poaching occurring!

@KMic - You're in good company - it's an anxious time and we're all in this together!

Have a lot of people had their booking in appointments etc yet? My GP appointment isn't until Monday (I'll be nearly 7 weeks) so panicking I won't get my midwife appointment until much later!

What is the booking appointment like for those who have already had one? I'm really nervous about it!

JenMumma · 15/12/2018 19:01

@canonlyhopexo to be fair if she had said it to me, I would've either burst out laughing or burst out crying depending on the morning (and sickness) I'd had aswell. I think you're right, it's actually a really shitty term to use x x

Blii · 15/12/2018 19:11

Sounds like she was trying to be funny using that term. But agree, I’d either laugh or cry depending on my mood at the time.
Fae1989 - I havnt told any health professionals yet, I want to wait till I’m past 7 weeks. All my previous miscarriages have been around 6 and a half weeks. So once I’m past 7 weeks I feel like I might relax. I had no symptoms at all with those pregnancies and with this one I am having some mild nausea and boob ache so fingers crossed this time is different.
Once 7 weeks is out the way then I will get the ball rolling.
I’m thinking of having a private scan around 8 weeks anyway, just after Christmas and new year. Currently 5+2.

JenMumma · 15/12/2018 19:17

@Blii hope you're feeling ok, I don't want to be intrusive but can I ask if you had early private scans with your precious pregnancies and what was your experience like with them ? I'm so tempted x x

JenMumma · 15/12/2018 19:26

Previous not precious but obviously also precious and omg I'm gonna stop typing now 🤦‍♀️ x x

Blii · 15/12/2018 19:35

I’ve not had a private scan before, only in my first pregnancy in 2012 to find out the gender because at the time the nhs weren’t allowed to tell.
I had early bleeding with that pregnancy and had an nhs early scan, I can’t remember how far I was but I saw his heartbeat and cried my eyes out! It was done internally, with a probe type thing and wasn’t too bad really.
When we were ready to try for number two it was then that I had the miscarriages. I had two misscarriages in a row both at 6 and a half weeks. As a result I didn’t have an actual period for 3-4 months and so to date the following pregnancy (2nd child) they did an early scan at 8 weeks with the nhs. I think they tried a normal ultrasound scan first but then done it internally again to get a better picture. I had a very full bladder and had to empty it for the internal scan.

Blii · 15/12/2018 19:38

I feel like the miscarriages were girls and I just feel like I can’t carry girls for some reason. Like my body rejects them. I’ve always said I’m not very good at being pregnant haha.
So I am predicting another little boy in august... anyone else got any predictions of their own yet? Grin

Oftenconfused · 15/12/2018 19:46

@Fae1989 I have my booking in appt on Wednesday so I'll report back then! I've not had any contact with medical professionals so far except to make the appointment, as in my area you can self refer to the midwife service.

Thanks for all the welcomes. I'm feeling surprisingly ok actually (so far...) - nausea/overfullness quite a bit of the time but no actual sickness. All my sympathy to those who have it worse.

Notanotherpawpatrol · 15/12/2018 20:16

🙈 I've been so ill and habe lots to catch up on. I just wanted to say, avacadoo, she's not a friend. A real friend would be thrilled for you. Distance yourself now, she is not worth the effort xxq

Notanotherpawpatrol · 15/12/2018 20:25

@jenmumma, I'm in South Wales too :)
