I'm 10-11DPO and just had BFP on a digital. I know it's incredibly early but looking at a due date March 3rd 2019!

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever congrats on the bump and the wedding!

CatalinaCatarina · 24/07/2018 14:07

@cardboard33 where are you planning on going that's further away, if you don't mind me asking? We have two resorts booked, both 5 star, costing us an arm and a leg, 5 nights in both. Quick overnight either end in Singapore. I'm just in two minds about it. No idea whether I should cancel it or just go and enjoy myself. Wouldn't forgive myself if something was to happen, but also the whole Zika thing seems blown out of proportion? I really don't have a clue!

TheWanderlust · 24/07/2018 14:10

Currently in Spain @CatalinaCatarina but looking at going to Asia or America somewhere if we can squeeze it in. Will see how we go though.

You'll be absolutely fine in Singapore. It's one of the cleanest countries in the world. Would maybe invest in some good mosquito bands but other than that not an issue. All residential areas are "fogged" weekly to kill off any nasty bugs/mosquitos

TurquoiseWeekend · 24/07/2018 14:18

@CatalinaCatarina I'm going to Mexico at the start of September when I'll be 13/14 weeks.
Discussed it with the midwife and she had no worries. She just told me to wear flight stockings and make sure I go for a walk on the plane. I'm seeing her again 4 days before we fly.
The only thing I'm worried about is still feeling so sick, what if I'm one of those people that is sick their whole pregnancy and it ruins the holiday?!

cardboard33 · 24/07/2018 14:21

@catalinacatharina probs somewhere like Hong Kong, Singapore etc. I've been to both before but it wasn't recently. Or back to Japan. We went to the Seychelles (highly highly recommend) in March and picked that on the basis of it being pregnant lady friendly and then I wasn't even pregnant at that point!! Zika seems to be absolutely everywhere... Would you be able to change your plans at this stage? Some of our friends managed to change their honeymoon destination (were originally going to FIji) due to it. You could also consider Mauritius as that was one of our options when we were looking for baby safe locations.

Hi All
I'm 6+4 but am not seeing MW until 14th August. We were trying for a couple of months and I took a test having had really heavy, tender boobs for a week. I was not e pecting to see a BFP but the two line were clear and digital test came back at 3+! My cycles have been long and irregular this year (32-54 days) so I was doing daily or twice daily OT's. However my conception date doesn't match with when I had a POT so...Doctor said they aren't reliable.
Boobs are still tender and heavy although not as bad. Nausea, diarrhea, cramping, tiredness, aversion to smells and foods with much flavour. Wanting to eat bland, carby stuff.
Every twinge and cramp fills me with dread Blush
I feel like hibernating until scan time!

Lucyjane66 · 24/07/2018 15:49

@hans123 I think I'm due within a couple of days of you. First pregnancy, very much wanted but very anxious!

Lucyjane66 · 24/07/2018 15:53

@Jodie1122334 yes! Bowel movements all a bit loose here too Blush

HarlennJerome · 24/07/2018 17:00

I'm now 6+5 so very close to you @lucyjane66 my first appointment isn't until the 10th seems ages away lol. That was only because I bypassed my GP entirely. It would have been even later...

Agree about the heat, I work in a kitchen and keep going light-headed. Biscuits and mugs of water are helping some.
Anyone else feel like the tiredness comes in waves, like feeling ok a sit down wouldn't hurt to full on head drooping eyes closing standing exhaustion then it fades out again?

Hans123 · 24/07/2018 17:00

@lucyjane66
Congratulations :-) this is my second pregnancy my little boy is 2year 3 months. We've been trying since he turned one and finally happened. Just can't wait for my first scan. Fingers crossed for next month. Just can't get over this tender nipples stage I never had any symptoms with my little boy but getting near enough everything with this one.

TheOneWithTheBaby · 24/07/2018 17:07

I called my GP today and now have a midwife appointment for 23.8., which is week 9. Just for the booking in.

Could have gone the week before but we will be on holiday.

After reading about missed miscarriages I am now super paranoid. Seriously considering an early scan. We will go away when I'm 8+2. Can I do a scan before that? Maybe around 7+6? Or would that be too early to see anything?

cardboard33 · 24/07/2018 17:12

@theonewiththebaby when the ANU called me today about doing an early scan they said they normally do it between 6 and 8 weeks. I'll be 6 weeks tomorrow and they were talking about mid next week, so just before I get to 7 weeks. However we are on holiday so will be having it the following week when I'm closer to 8 so pretty much the exact same as you're talking about doing.

I'm going to be so gutted if I've got my dates wrong and there isn't anything, or they're like but you're not even pregnant!!

TheOneWithTheBaby · 24/07/2018 17:20

Thank you for your advice, that sounds good then.

My DH thinks it's a waste-if something is wrong with the baby we can't do anything about it anyway. But i think I'd like to know as early as possible.

cardboard33 · 24/07/2018 18:12

@theonewiththebaby My husband thinks it's a waste of time too, although for slightly different reasons. I texted him today saying that we'd been offered an early scan and he was like "why? I don't see the point as it's not like you can see anything anyway" ... I def wouldn't be able to persuade him to go private for it even though it's only a couple of hundred quid max.... but then he didn't want to look at any furniture until we had actually completed on our first house in case it didn't happen, so I'm not surprised!

TheOneWithTheBaby · 24/07/2018 18:25

Your DH sounds very similar to mine. I found a place that only charges £79, which I don't think sounds too bad to be honest. I will speak to him again and see what he says. It would be nice to ave some reassurance before flying off.

In such a nervous flier, I normally just get through it with lots of booze and some pills. No idea what I will do this time. My anxiety will be through the roof

cardboard33 · 24/07/2018 18:44

@theonewiththebaby £79 is really reasonable for the reassurance - hope you can persuade him!! I suppose that's how they get you in though as you come for an early scan now and then they're like "what about this for X amount too?" ... or maybe I'm just cynical. Where are you going on holiday? Does he know how much you dislike flying? Maybe that would help persuade him?

My husband is naturally very cautious (he's a scientist so likes solid facts rather than chance) so that feeds into our lives with big events such as house moves, weddings, babies etc as he wants to wait until everything is exact and precise. He quite literally wouldn't tell anyone we were pregnant or buy anything for the baby until it came if he had his own way. He got annoyed at me for temping (only did it in the final 2 months, I came off the pill 6 months ago) and doing OPKs (which I had to do pretty much every day due to erratic cycles) as apparently that's getting too obsessed. I know he'd be annoyed if he knew I was on here already as that's also getting too into it.

trippingoverrainbows · 24/07/2018 20:22

@TurquoiseWeekend it might be worth checking the travel advice for Mexico, I'm pretty sure the NHS advise to cancel non-essential travel to Mexico while pregnant. I only know this as one of my close friends recently had to change her holiday plans due to this

TurquoiseWeekend · 24/07/2018 21:00

@trippingoverrainbows I'll double check, thanks. My midwife has absolutely no worries about me going though but better to be safe than sorry. I can't imagine I'll be going much further than the pool or the beach if I'm still feeling as rubbish as I am now!

trippingoverrainbows · 24/07/2018 21:12

@TurquoiseWeekend sorry I'm not trying to be a Debbie downer but I'd be worried that the midwife didn't have the correct info if she's said that to you. I've just checked the NHS website and it's quite clear xx

TurquoiseWeekend · 24/07/2018 21:15

Have you got the link @trippingoverrainbows? Because I've spoken to both the midwife and my GP about it and they both told me to go. Just worrying that medical professionals are saying that if there's other info out there.

Thanks @trippingoverrainbows Smile I'll have a read. Seeing the GP again tomorrow so I'll grill them again too! X

Rach93x · 24/07/2018 21:25

Hi @TurquoiseWeekend I'm also going to Mexico . Will be travelling at 14 weeks. However, I've also been told its fine for me to go!

Had my first midwife appointment today. I've lost 9lb through sickness since finding out i was pregnant but she said it wasn't a major concern and am fit and well. She said there's a chance that there it could be twins, they run in both of our families. I also have been given anti sickness tablets which are great but are knocking me out! Hope everyone is well x

VillageFete · 24/07/2018 21:38

Is anyone else suffering with wind and bad bloating? Blush I am only about 4 weeks along but I know it’s not all in my head. I’m absolutely bloated and feel disgusting

TheOneWithTheBaby · 24/07/2018 21:59

We went to Mexico at Easter and the travel advice was definitely not to go when pregnant back then, so please check it carefully. The Zika risk isn't extremely high there but there are quite a lot of mosquitos so there's a chance you'll be bitten.

Men are advised to use protection for 6 months after going to Mexico. DH got a blood test to check first before we TTC.

Cardboard, my DH has to hold my hand every time so he definitely knows how scared I am. I don't think the pregnancy will help with that! Maybe you're right though and it's an angle I can use to convince him to have a scan!
We're off to Cyprus. Meant to do a food tour there with all their wine and cured meats but now we obviously can't...

Do you all think it's safe for me to book a 4x4 tour going into mountains? Or would the shaking be bad?
