I'm 10-11DPO and just had BFP on a digital. I know it's incredibly early but looking at a due date March 3rd 2019!

@Hurradieweltgehtunter that's amazing congratulations! I'm 5+5 with no.2 took 5 years had HSG in May think it helped give me a good clear out 😂 Wishing you a healthy pregnancy!

TheWanderlust · 27/07/2018 17:27

@Angelmiracle I miss Brie 😅

ballanj · 27/07/2018 18:19

@TheWanderlust

I miss everything and have only known I'm pregnant for a fortnight 🤣

I have a dinner party which has been months in the making with friends. We don't want to tell anyone until we have our scan so I'm allowing myself a glass of red wine with my meal so as not to raise eyebrows. Controversial yes, but I'd stress more having to make up some bullshit reason for not drinking. What are everyone else's thoughts on this? I'm of the mindset that I'm in tip top condition and a sane relaxed pregnant person is better than someone worrying about having a small pleasure on the odd occasion. I also have no sickness and I've not gone off wine (was kind of hoping I would haha) just want to get past the first trimester over with, it's the secrecy bit I struggle with at the moment.

Angelmiracle · 27/07/2018 18:46

@TheWanderlust it was a pretty bland panini without the brie 🤣

I was very lazy and went to the chippy tonight....apparently I've gone off that too 🙈 prob a good thing!

VillageFete · 27/07/2018 19:19

ballanj Enjoy your wine. Just sip is slowly. I’m reading a book called “Expecting better” By Emily Oster. No evidence at all that up to 2 drinks a week in first trimester, or up to one a day in second and third, cause any issues at all - physically or developmentally. My personal way of going about it is to completely abstain in first trimester, but i’ll then have the odd small beer/red wine on special occasions in trimester 2&3. I’m just overly cautious due to a really complicated fertility history.

VillageFete · 27/07/2018 19:20

@Angelmiracle I’ve gone off everything too. Everything tastes so bland? Even my beloved chocolate?!! Plus I have sobbed 3 times in the last 24 hours. My emotions are everywhere!

Hurradieweltgehtunter · 27/07/2018 19:23

Thank you @angelmiracle Fingers crossed for both of us! Still all seems a bit surreal.
The goal was to get pregnant, but I now seem to have swapped the worry of whether I CAN get pregnant for the worry of whether I can STAY pregnant. Typical! Trying to stay zen and not Google too much.

AtHe5292 · 27/07/2018 19:34

It is really hard to come up with reasons not to drink. Told people last night I was on a health kick but we went to tapas and they ordered a huge sharing plate of cured ham. So had to subtly avoid it!! I’m sure a glass is absolutely fine

Angelmiracle · 27/07/2018 19:57

@VillageFete yes even my beloved chocolate although oddly After Eights are nice and Jaffa Cakes lol. I was very weepy this morning but had to pull myself together before I worried my nail technician 🤣

@Hurradieweltgehtunter yeah I deeply feel I'll get to March so need to let silly worries go. I was Google crazy ttc it was not healthy so have stopped that now and just vent my concerns on MN! LOL

Kate2930 · 27/07/2018 19:58

I’ve so gone off chocolate and bananas, they make me want to heave.

TheWanderlust · 27/07/2018 20:09

@ballanj I think realistically 1 glass isn't going to do any harm. A close friend of mine had 1 glass a week throughout her pregnancy without any issues.

Had some sorento ham this week in Spain without even thinking about it... until afterwards.

@Angelmiracle I can only imagine 🙊 how very dull!

March19Baby · 27/07/2018 20:35

Congratulations!

I found out last week, due March 29th so I am only 5 weeks today!

I know the feeling about finding reasons not drink! I have my work Summer Party in a couple of weeks time, I am well known to have a drink or 12 at every work event AND to top it off, it's a BBQ and they've hired a rodeo bull ... I have banged on for months about how I am amazing at them and I dare anyone to challenge me!

Needless to say, my big mouth has got me in to trouble as I can't do either and aside from food poisoning I cant think of an excuse to attend but not drink or hop on the bull!

Thinking I might have to retract my confirmation to go! Hmm

VillageFete · 27/07/2018 20:39

This is such a worrying time isn’t it? We are so early on and March seems so far away. I’ve just gotten really angry at something, my heart was beating so fast and my adrenaline was sky high. Could I have caused some damage?!

March19Baby · 27/07/2018 20:46

@VillageFete Go and take a nice relaxing bath Smile

Is it your first baby?

VillageFete · 27/07/2018 20:51

No March I have an almost 9 year old DD, but have been trying for this baby for 4 years. Lots of investigations, 6 months of clomid, 3 operations, 2 rounds of failed IVF later and here I am with a naturally conceived miracle! So worried I may do something to damage it and stop it growing?

HidCat · 27/07/2018 21:15

@March19Baby pulled stomach muscle! Painkillers and rest from physical activity. Should cover it.

TheWanderlust · 27/07/2018 21:31

@March19Baby I love your rodeo confidence 😂 you're really going to have to find a good excuse for this one!

ballanj · 27/07/2018 22:02

@VillageFete
That sounds like an interesting read, I'll take a look on amazon!

@TheWanderlust
I feel your pain, at a work lunch last week, huge platter of cured meats and cheese came out......didn't know whether to be more upset that I couldn't have it, or that I physically couldn't have eaten it anyway!

And the lady who went to the chip shop tonight, same here, but it's the first thing I've actually wanted to eat all week. I've gone right off meat at the moment but fish I can't get enough of!

ballanj · 27/07/2018 22:07

@March19Baby
It's such a pain right?! I have a lunch with a work associate and a colleague next Thursday and already thinking of what I can say to excuse the drink or duck out of it all together! Thinking I might have to let the boss in on it soon, as she wants me to arrange a social with an insurer we work with. I'm the one who always organises such events. Ideas that have been thrown in include gin tasting 😭😭😭😩😩😩 so might have to let her in on the secret 😂 as I know she'll help me stay incognito! The first trimester is hard!!!

March19Baby · 27/07/2018 22:41

@TheWanderlust I know right, too many party holidays abroad... several years ago now though I must say! 😂

@ballanj I had a meal with several girls from work last weekend but had the fortune of being designated driver so I managed that one nicely! Yeah it might be worth letting her in on it ... I confided in one of the girls from work whose reaction was gold because she’s pregnant too!! About 3 weeks ahead of me, so we’re covering each other well at the moment but you’re right it’s so hard! My boss will probably have a breakdown when she tells him and then I confess my secret too! 😂

melissa112 · 28/07/2018 08:26

Hi all, and congratulations to everyone!

I'm 6+6 today and due 17th March. I had some really bad one sided pains in my lower abdomen at the start of my 5th week and got referred for a scan where they saw that baby was in the right place. I have another follow up scan on Wednesday. I'll be 7+3 then so hoping to see a heartbeat?

I've been lurking for a few days and finally built up the courage to post. To be honest I'm feeling rather upset a lot. For the past week, whenever I am awake, I feel really nauseous. I've only actually been sick once but it's put me off pretty much all food.

I've been forcing myself to eat something that allows me to take my Pregnacare vitamin but I'm really struggling to eat much more. I've been eating oranges and occasionally managing either some toast or something light. I feel like I'm letting down my baby already because I can't stomach the food and I'm worried that they aren't getting the nutrients they need from me. Hence tears commence!

Have you ladies any ideas on how to get in the nutrients I need while keeping it down, or any tips on how to alleviate the feeling of needing to be sick constantly. I started off eating so healthy and it's really worrying me now Sad

AtHe5292 · 02/08/2018 13:40

Hi ladies
Feeling quite down as my morning sickness continues this week. I haven’t vomited yet but I spend all day on the verge of it and most foods make me feel so sick. It’s exhausting!
I find ginger beer/biscuits help. Any other tips? Xx
