I'm 10-11DPO and just had BFP on a digital. I know it's incredibly early but looking at a due date March 3rd 2019!

@VillageFete I will have to her my friend soon as I saw her cousin today whilst waiting for the midwife to call me so I don't want her to tell her first. She will be happy for me like she was for my other children but I still feel guilty. The fact she stays 70 miles away from me now is a bit difficult too as I'll have to tell her over the phone 😐. Hi to all the newbies. I'm very jealous about everyone's trips abroad.
@TheOneWithTheBaby bumpy rides won't do any harm to bump. They are very well protected in there

Angelmiracle · 24/07/2018 23:44

@villagefete yes to both! The wind comes and goes but the bloat is full on. I appear 9 months on already- especially at night 🤣

Willowtree31 · 25/07/2018 07:15

With DD1, my DH was very very cautious about getting our hopes up too early. I'm very much a heart on my sleeve kind of person and could think of nothing but the baby so it was a bit disappointing that he wasn't as excited as me. I convinced him to have a scan just before we were 8 weeks (£79 one) and his face when he saw our baby was totally worth it. I think the physical proof was just what he needed to turn Baby from an idea into an actual living thing.
Of course, every scan is nerve wracking and it's very hard to relax completely throughout the rest of pregnancy (and labour and motherhood... 😂) but I would definitely recommend having an early scan to get through the first 12 weeks as it DRAAAAGS!!!!
I'm booking ours next week for when we're about 7/8 weeks. Then we will finally tell our parents!

TheOneWithTheBaby · 25/07/2018 07:32

@TopsyTurvyK29 thank you for the advice. I'd really like to do the trip as it looks very good and this will be our last adult holiday for a long time.

So this morning my belly looks as if I am 8 months pregnant. I am fat anyway and know I've never looked not fat, but today my belly is bigger than my boobs. Considering I'm only 5+2 I am assuming it's bloating?

VillageFete · 25/07/2018 07:40

Morning all, i’m still so bloated! My test line is darker than my control line today, so i’m hopeful my Hcg will have risen at tomorrow’s appt, and then i’ll have a scan in 2 weeks. Starting to feel quietly confident, and so bloody happy!!

TheOneWithTheBaby When I was having IVF I had to have progesterone pessaries to support the possible pregnancy. They made me so bloated. I assume our bodies are naturally producing a lot of it at this point? I’m only 4 weeks 3 days (I think) and have been bloated for days.

TheOneWithTheBaby · 25/07/2018 08:48

@VillageFete, I hope your tests all go well. That's such a good, dark line!

I never really feel bloated otherwise, good to know it could be the hormones. I get IBS and often have some digestive issues. But today I just look super fat! I don't want to tell work until after the scan, I hope the bloating goes back down!

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 25/07/2018 09:32

When is everyone telling their parents/ family? I want to wait til the 12w scan but OH wants to tell people beforehand as we're getting married in October and he thinks it'll be a bit of a shock for everyone.

VillageFete · 25/07/2018 09:39

Assume We’ve already told my mum, sister and cousin and my inlaws. With it being such a shock, and because of my history, we couldn’t wait. I am desperate to fast forward time and get to the 12 weeks scan so I can shout it from the roof tops!

PurpleFlower1983 · 25/07/2018 09:41

We told our parents when we were only 6 weeks, my in laws live away and they were staying with us so it made sense to tell them altogether. Obviously they knew it was early days so potential for things to go wrong but I think it was the right thing for us. It all became much more real after the early scan which was amazing and only £55.

Angelmiracle · 25/07/2018 09:46

I told my parents immediately as I can't hold my water and had to let someone other than DH know! They are the best. Only downside is that my mum keeps asking if I'm worried when I mentioned symptoms and keeps saying "hopefully all will be ok". She seems more cautious than me but prob coz she knows we've been trying for 5years for our 2nd.

Also my sis is coming to visit she will be 7 months pregnant. I haven't told her yet but before she heads back to Oz I will be 11 weeks so thought I'll tell her then. Midwife indicated booking in appointment will be at 10 weeks and I'll be scanned then also. So if I have a scan at 10 weeks I'll tell remaining siblings and DH family and our best friends.

When we found out last week I thought frig it we'll just tell everyone I'm too excited after all this time and it's 2nd baby most people won't be surprised any way. But then I chickened out of this! Plus bumped into a neighbour coming out from midwife pretty sure she'll have to problem telling random other neighbours even though she asked me not to tell anyone about her as she hasn't got ideal circumstances atm 😏

Angelmiracle · 25/07/2018 09:51

Amazing line @Villagefete Grin This is my 1st morning not doing hpt and it feels weird 😂

SunshineAndRainbows6 · 25/07/2018 11:16

Hey ladies,

Sorry I haven't been active for a while.... been feeling like death! Dreaded sickness hit me last week but today is by far the worst.... I'm coming up to 7 weeks! 😭 Has anyone got any tips to help keep anything down? I literally can't even keep water down which is worrying, genuinely feel like I'm dying 🤢 Spoke to the midwife and might have to go to A+E to get some fluids in me tomorrow if I can't stomach water by then 😭

Want to be happy and excited and positive but it's been so difficult and I don't have many people to talk to about it... my family say it happens to everyone and to try and get on with it... but I haven't gotten out of bed in 3 days! Hell I couldn't even face the thought of work, let alone going in.... 😭 Sorry to rant, just don't know what to do with myself 🤧 X

VillageFete · 25/07/2018 12:23

Sunshine Oh that sounds awful. It doesn’t happen to everyone and you can’t just get on with it. I was sick with my daughter (9 years ago) I had zero energy and would bring bile up every day. It started around 6.5 weeks and lasted until about week 13, so I count myself lucky. I found ginger biscuits helped and I absolutely had to eat breakfast or i’d shake. I really feel for you, hope it’s resolved sooner than later.

angel0071987 · 25/07/2018 12:24

@SunshineAndRainbows6 I had that with my first. What got me through and avoiding hospital was teeny tiny sips (more like wetting mouth) of lucozade sport and sucking ice poles. It peaked at 7.5weeks then was normal levels of nausea and occasional sickness till nearly 19weeks.
Lots of sleep helped too and don't bother thinking of work you and unborn baby come first!

CobaltRose · 25/07/2018 12:32

After suffering a devastating missed miscarriage in April, I decided to book an early reassurance scan this time around.

I was so nervous I almost had a panic attack in the waiting room! But....

Scan revealed a healthy peanut with a strong heartbeat ❤ Measuring right on time for dates (thought I was 7w1d and I am Grin). Also, does the second pic look like a flying saucer to anyone else? Grin

EDD: 11th March 2019 ❤

Angelmiracle · 25/07/2018 12:36

They are lovely scan pics @colbaltrose 😊 Congratulations 🎉 Your flying saucer is looking great 😉 how reassuring!!

Angelmiracle · 25/07/2018 12:38

Ladies you'll never believe my booking in appointment letter came in today (I'm 5+3) for 5th October!!!! I'll be 16 weeks along. What is wrong with these people Angry

HidCat · 25/07/2018 12:43

@Angelmiracle what?! That's crazy! I hope there's a phone number on the letter you can call to get in sooner.

VillageFete · 25/07/2018 12:43

Beautiful @CobaltRose Flowers I had an early miscarriage (IVF) in February. It’s beyond devastating. So thrilled for you! I’m pregnant naturally (shock of the century) But only conceived on 7th July, so that’s putting me as 4+4. I am getting an early reassurance scan due to my history, but not sure when is best? I don’t want it too early and we don’t see a heartbeat.

CobaltRose · 25/07/2018 12:44

@Angelmiracle, WTF? That's ridiculous! Mine is next week. Hmm I'd definitely be questioning that.

CatalinaCatarina · 25/07/2018 12:46

Hi @SunshineAndRainbows6 I'm sorry to hear you're struggling.

I'm afraid I don't have any advice as my sickness is just nausea at the moment not actual vomiting. But my fatigue is awful and I called in sick mon and tues because I couldn't get out of bed let alone go in. So please don't feel alone. We are all with you and experiencing similar things, you are not on your own xxx

CobaltRose · 25/07/2018 12:48

@VillageFete, congratulations! I had a missed miscarriage and didn't realise anything was wrong until my first scan. I was supposed to be 12 weeks but a scan revealed an empty sac Sad So seeing a little bean with a beating heart this time round was fantastic ❤

I don't think they can see much before five/six weeks, so I'd recommend waiting until you're 7 weeks, though I know the wait is agonising! You can see a heartbeat from six weeks, but sometimes that's a little too early. Good luck and congratulations again Cake

CatalinaCatarina · 25/07/2018 12:49

@Angelmiracle I would call them up and ask to be seen sooner. Quote the NHS website if needs be about recommended times for different scans/tests. They must be extremely busy - Is there not another hospital near you that you could try if not? I know I have a choice of a few hospitals near me xx

VillageFete · 25/07/2018 12:49

@AngelMiracle - Oh that is ridiculous!!!!! Get on th phone to them.
