I'm 10-11DPO and just had BFP on a digital. I know it's incredibly early but looking at a due date March 3rd 2019!

I hear you @PurpleFlower1983 - constant feeling sick. Thankfully the bloated pressure in my tummy has finally relented and I managed to poo yesterday. Although 5mins after waking up and the sickness is creeping back... those 5mins were bliss.

pushit · 19/07/2018 08:15

Hi guys, so I just read up on ectopic pregnancy and apparently bloating and a pressurised tummy is a symptom. Which is exactly what I have, thought it might be normal early pregnancy symptom. (But didn't have it last time).
I mentioned it to the midwife but as it's discomfort not pain she wasn't worried. But having read that - now I am!!! Anyone else bloated and feeling a bit like they've eaten a huge roast dinner?

Anxiousannie18 · 19/07/2018 08:44

Hi @pushit, I am super bloated too! I had a risotto with peas in and thought it was because of that as peas can cause gas and bloating but I’m still feeling bloated a couple of days later. I keep worrying about ectopic but I do think I’d be having unignorable pain I’d that was happening so I’m trying not to panic. Easier said than done!

I haven’t posted anything yet - just been reading! I’m 7 weeks 3 days today and due 4th March. First pregnancy. We’re going for a private early scan on Saturday so fingers double crossed...!

PurpleFlower1983 · 19/07/2018 12:54

I am bloated yet always hungry and am also worried about ectopic but will just have to wait and see.

angel0071987 · 19/07/2018 14:21

Just got back from taking my DS to his swimming lesson. Utterly exhausted now Confused
Really want a nice big cuppa and a biscuit but out of tea bags 😩
Hoping some quiet play and maybe a nap may be in order now.

I'm hugely bloated. Was with my first pregnancy also. Up until 10weeks then it went away and proper bump didn't show till just gone 12.

Hi everyone

We found out we were expecting about a week ago. I'm about 5 weeks so due in mid March. Husband didn't believe me as the test lines weren't strong enough so did a digital test that we'd been saving the next day and it said pregnant which satisfied him. He's a scientist and likes everything to be factual meaning he doesn't want to tempt fate by talking about it much until we have our 12 week scan.... I know he's right but feels weird keeping something this huge to myself!! Also been looking into NCT and it looks like people book it really really early... When are you planning on booking if you do it? We were thinking 12-16 weeks would give us loads of time but I've been looking online and it seems that where we are (SW London) people literally start booking as soon as they find out and by 12 weeks people are having to go to inconvenient locations. Seems crazy!!

(First post but been lurking a lot for the last few months)

leighdinglady · 19/07/2018 14:52

cardboard congratulations! My tests were really faint too. Book the NCT but delay paying for it and pay in instalments 'just in case'. I know that's negative of me though.
That's how I did it last year. The actual classes aren't very informative, but I've made amazing local friends. I'm even going on holiday with one of the couples in September! Totally worth it

Hello mummies to be. I'm now 6+1 and really tired and constipated haha. My nipples are always sore. Can't wait for my first appointment on booked on the 2nd of August. Just panicking myself if it could be twins. The dads side has two sets of twins in his family hope everyone is okay x

TheWanderlust · 19/07/2018 15:09

Congratulations @Hans123
I've got the twins worry too. Hoping my midwife will speed up my scan booking when I see her on the 3rd to find out for sure.

Hans123 · 19/07/2018 15:12

I'm waiting patiently on my scan hopefully if everything goes well I should have it end of August fingers crossed haha

AtHe5292 · 19/07/2018 15:13

I have my first midwife appointment next week when I will be seven weeks. Has anyone had one yet? What sort of thing happens? Is that where you book in your first scan? I’m excited to have someone to talk to about it even if it’s just a random mendial professional!

myotherbagisgucci · 19/07/2018 15:25

Hey @AtHe5292

They will probably take a urine test, possibly a blood test as well, ask you details about yours and your partners family medical history. They may ask you where you'd like to have the baby and she will also book your 12 week scan.

Baby160P · 19/07/2018 15:29

@AtHe5292 I had mine yesterday and it was lots of paper work and family background questions on both sides.

I got our scan date through the post a couple of days before

Jodie1122334 · 19/07/2018 16:23

Hi guys. How soon did you hear back about your 1st appointment? My self referral was done on Monday and not heard from them yet. Is it too soon for me to chase up? I'm concerned as I know some screening tests have to be done before 8 weeks ?

myotherbagisgucci · 19/07/2018 16:35

Hi @Jodie1122334 Do you mean the first appointment with your midwife? As for both my first pregnancy and this one, I just rang the doctors who gave me a number for our local midwife service. I rang them and booked the appointment.

As for the screening tests, these were done at the hospital just after I had my 12 week scan.

NikxLx · 19/07/2018 16:53

Got my due date yesterday when I went for an early scan 04.03.2019 🤩🤩 Super excited

cardboard33 · 19/07/2018 17:37

@leighdinglady

Thank you!!! All of our friends/colleagues have done NCT and say the same as you in terms of the main benefits... which is probs why SW London does a roaring trade as it's clearly a good way to buy pregnant friends!! I just can't believe you have to book so early.. when people said book early, we thought they meant around 12 weeks!

Miami81 · 19/07/2018 17:49

Hi. Just on the Nct front, they are generally very understanding if you have to cancel. We got a full refund on ours last year. Ours wasn't as busy though so we didn't have to book til much later than you guys seem to have to.

Jodie1122334 · 19/07/2018 18:00

Oh that's interesting @myotherbagisgucci . My GP told me I had to fill out a self referral form direct with my local hospital's antenatal department which I have done. Maybe I will just call them up directly then! I guess all hospitals work differently.

leighdinglady · 19/07/2018 18:11

@cardboard33 it's ridiculous isn't it. I had to book DD in to nursery when we was only two weeks old, she doesn't get a place until October. Apparently I was lucky as some places you have to apply whilst pregnant!

myotherbagisgucci · 19/07/2018 18:51

@Jodie1122334 maybe it's different in each area/hospital. I'm in the north west and I just rang, explained I was pregnant and asked what I needed to do and the doctors receptionist just gave me another number to call.

TheWanderlust · 19/07/2018 19:01

@leighdinglady where is that??? That seems crazy early for a nursery place!!

leighdinglady · 19/07/2018 19:10

I'm in Brighton. I know it's similar in a lot of areas in London too

Anxiousannie18 · 19/07/2018 19:13

@cardboard33 I’m in SW London too! Sent an enquiry about one NCT class a couple of weeks ago and was given a reserved place on it but then couldn’t bring myself to book as it felt so early (currently 7 weeks 3 days). We have an early scan on Saturday morning so I think if all goes well, I’ll try to book over the weekend. Where abouts in SW London are you? I did my first post here today, too - have been lurking! I’m due 4th March and it’s my first pregnancy. Really want to get to the scan on Sat so I know it’s at least in the right place. Two of my friends have very sadly had ectopic pregnancies this year and it’s so hard not to worry about that sort of thing when you don’t really know what’s going on! X

TopsyTurvyK29 · 19/07/2018 21:06

Sorry I may sound silly here but what is NCT?
