I'm 10-11DPO and just had BFP on a digital. I know it's incredibly early but looking at a due date March 3rd 2019!

myotherbag yay someone else is as crazy as me haha. I feel like I've literally just stopped being pregnant and now I am again. I'm so happy but also like "aaaaah!"

I've been up since 4.30am with DD! She is not a good sleeper

angel0071987 · 18/07/2018 10:02

Anyone got any tips for dealing with morning sickness and a very active toddler?
The motion bands don't work with me at all and I can't drink loads of peppermint tea like I did last time as don't want my milk supply drying up any earlier than it might already.
Ginger is making me puke so gingernuts are out for now too

babybrainusedtobesmart · 18/07/2018 11:09

angel does your milk supply dry up? I hadn't even thought about that and I'm BF my 7 month old

babybrainusedtobesmart · 18/07/2018 11:10

Ginger biscuits? Eating little and often? That helped me last time

angel0071987 · 18/07/2018 11:35

@babybrainusedtobesmart it can do yes. As early as 4months in apparently. You can also get nipple aversion which makes it too much pain to feed with. It's painful enough now as is but persevering for now with the couple of feeds we still have

Miami81 · 18/07/2018 11:42

Hi @babybrainusedtobesmart yep I'm here, been lurking. Still very early on for me, what with previous mc's and then losing dd. Just trying to take it easy on myself at the mo.
have you changed your name tag?
Anyway massive congratulations. That's lovely news, hopefully I get to stick around and we can get through.
I hope all the December ladies are doing well, I think of you all often. Xx

leighdinglady · 18/07/2018 12:47

Hi miami. I've changed my name back from babybrain to this. It's Jenna though! (Confusing much!)

Huge congratulations to you. So happy for you. I completely understand the anxiety. After losing our first in similar circumstances to you I find the thought of the 12 week scan terrifying. We'll all get through.

TurquoiseWeekend · 18/07/2018 13:16

@angel0071987 I know you said no ginger but I'm finding ginger ale is helping. Also ritz crackers and ready salted crisps. Nothing is really 100% stopping it for me though other than being asleep.

angel0071987 · 18/07/2018 14:02

Sleep ... trying to nap when toddler naps today. And bless him he's just had 2hr sleepGrin
Both having some cake for snack as a reward. Although I feel worse after waking up. Hoping sugar may kick in soon.

myotherbagisgucci · 18/07/2018 15:04

Haha @babybrainusedtobesmart we must me mad! Lol!! 😂

I had an early scan today due to previous fertility problems and baby measuring 5 weeks. Midwife could see the yoke sack and fetal pole with a faint heart beat, so all looking positive. Back for another scan on the 8th Aug! 🤞🏼

Jodie1122334 · 18/07/2018 16:09

@myotherbagisgucci heartbeat at 5 weeks? Congratulations!!!! That must be so amazing to experience. I'm so excited for my turn x

RachaelT · 18/07/2018 16:13

Just been for my pre-booking in appointment at my GPs and whilst waiting a good friend walks in (she's currently 40weeks +1) and has obviously got the appointment with the midwife after me! In our surgery the doctor/nurse/midwife comes and calls you (no screens or intercom technology!) Anyway now my very dear friend know I had an appointment with the midwife and I'm just waiting for a message... Confused

myotherbagisgucci · 18/07/2018 16:13

Midwife said it was very faint, but yeah she thinks she saw one!! I went for a scan with my DD last year and she was 6 weeks and you could clearly see her flickering! Hopefully we'll see a bit more in a few weeks time, but super excited so far!! ☺️

modgem · 18/07/2018 16:48

Is anyone else taking a dipstick test every few days out of paranoia? I'm normally so logical and calm with everything and really surprising myself. I'm 4+5 and just hoping things are all ok! We've decided to tell close people at about 8 weeks. What is everyone else doing?

Baby160P · 18/07/2018 16:50

@modgem what do the dip sticks show?

modgem · 18/07/2018 16:53

They are just the cheap pregnancy tests in the white packets. They show I'm still pregnant, I'm assuming if it doesn't take it will turn to a negative.

modgem · 18/07/2018 16:54

*negative?

leighdinglady · 18/07/2018 17:15

myotherbag that's great about your scan! I think you're pretty safe once you see the heartbeat.

trippingoverrainbows · 18/07/2018 17:29

@modgem I'm doing the exact same, I'm now 6 weeks and driving myself mad!

I've also booked a private scan at 8+3 for peace of mind. Had a MMC at 10 weeks in March and we had told our parents at 8 weeks and really wish we didn't so going to try and keep this pregnancy quiet for as long as possible (easier said than done!)

Baby160P · 18/07/2018 18:34

@modgem oh I see!

Although I have experienced the 'hook effect' recently so don't scare yourself like me!

Symptoms had pretty much faded so I took a test in worry and it was really faint so panicked. Apparently the tests can't take the levels your pregnancy are at so shows faint.

I mixed the urine with water though and had a strong line again!

Terrible worrier!!!

modgem · 18/07/2018 18:44

Thanks for the tip @BABY160P!

Does any know if you can take paracetamol in the first trimester. I've read conflicting advice.

myotherbagisgucci · 18/07/2018 19:06

@modgem Paracetamol is fine, ibuprofen is a no no.xx

babyready · 18/07/2018 22:18

@myotherbagisgucci I went to the hospital - luckily the little thing has attached well inside the womb!! They think the pain might be because my ovary is a bit behind my uterus, and the ligaments are getting stretched.

But that does mean I had an early scan, just about 6 weeks. No heartbeat mentioned (although we were mainly checking where it was, to be fair, also she was speaking French, and I don't know that I caught everything!!), and no image of the foetus, just the sac.

Given the situation, I'm really glad to be reassured, but all in all, it didn't show much, and might not be worth the hassle, if you don't need to be assessed early, and can bear to wait!!

I am definitely in the tired club - I don't know how those of you with little ones already are doing it! You are friggin superheros!!

myotherbagisgucci · 18/07/2018 23:03

I'm glad to hear you're ok @babyready and that baby is in the right place! ☺️ I had a scan today (measuring at 5 weeks) and they could only see the sac and fetal pole together through a vaginal ultrasound. They couldn't see much via the normal stomach ultrasound, is that what you had?

And OMG pregnancy tiredness with a 6 month old is certainly a challenge! Thankfully DH and I are doing shared parental leave, so I've got lots of help at home!

PurpleFlower1983 · 19/07/2018 06:41

My tiredness has eased a little but I’m feeling sick all day, except when eating and then I feel worse. I’m also constipated! Sorry for TMI!
