I'm 10-11DPO and just had BFP on a digital. I know it's incredibly early but looking at a due date March 3rd 2019!

@littleredlady I was just reading about floatation tanks being good in pregnancy and they're essentially salt water. Double check that one as I've never heard it before.

@Baby160P it could be what @Jodie1122334 said - it's called the hook effect.

@MrsLCW that's amazing!

@AtHe5292 I'm trying to wait too. Feels like forever

Baby160P · 17/07/2018 15:08

@AtHe5292 I went private for a scan at 7 weeks and we have our next one 12+2 but wanting another already (1 week on) just to check everything is ok! 🙈

astewart13 · 17/07/2018 15:11

Congratulations!!!
I'm due March 15th! How you feeling?

littleredlady · 17/07/2018 15:20

@MrsLCW that's incredible news! Massive congratulations and enjoy the relief 😊

@thewanderlust yeah the advice is mixed online - some sites say absolutely not and some say it's fine... Something about risk of infection. I just think I'll kick myself if I go in and something bad happens...

@hidcut hi! See above... It's so confusing and because I'm on holiday, I can't ask my doctor. It's so hot here, I'm dreaming of getting in the pool!!! 😥

AtHe5292 · 17/07/2018 15:34

@thewanderlust yes my GP said I shouldn’t be swimming in first trimester cos of infection. But I haven’t seen anything to back this up online!! She was very young I wonder if she got confused. It’s annoying as now it’s in my head and I can’t risk it!!

astewart13 · 17/07/2018 15:37

@Windmill1828 I'm the same, just keep checking! I've only know a week and am so anxious! Called the GP they won't give me an appointment I just have to self refer online to the midwife! So nobody to talk to until they get in touch and I think that's about 10 weeks! I'm only 5.5 😔so anxious one day I'm like ooh should have have a pain like that, next I can't feel anything and worry is they normal! And it too early to tell a soul apart from hubby but he has not answers apart from don't worry, you going to have odd feelings which is sweet but I want someone who knows to ask advice! Congratulation dolly!

AtHe5292 · 17/07/2018 16:04

@astewart13 this is exactly my situation! Only person I can tell is my hubby and he just doesn’t wanna hear about it! He just says oh well let’s see it’s early days. I’m like don’t you understand how nervous am - I really want to tell a friend but I am so worried I’m going to jinx it!!

Jodie1122334 · 17/07/2018 16:35

@MrsLCW congratulations!!!!!

Jodie1122334 · 17/07/2018 16:38

@AtHe5292 no swimming in first trimester?! Everything online says swimming is one of the best forms of exercise throughout pregnancy?!

I'm going to Bali in September (will be 3 months by then), does this mean I can't swim in our private pools? Have I been wasting our money on villas with private pools 😩😩😩

Jodie1122334 · 17/07/2018 16:43

General question I'm going to chuck out there as I'm sure others will be interested - those of us who have already had an early scan, when did you go, and were you able to see the heartbeat?

I think many of us are confused - do we have an early scan or wait for NHS? If we do have an early one, how early until we can see the flickering heartbeat of hope?

As a first timer, this is all new to me, and any advice on when to book my first scan and what to expect from it would be amazingly appreciated!

TheWanderlust · 17/07/2018 17:42

@Jodie1122334 I'm away at the moment in Spain staying in a small villa complex of privately owned places with a shared pool.

I've been swimming every day and plan to carry on for the remaining 10 days of our holiday. I've read lots on the benefits of swimming and won't be giving up my pool time.

Enjoy your trip to Bali and make the most of that pool!!

angel0071987 · 17/07/2018 18:34

I swam during my last healthy pregnancy. Just absolutely no hot hot pools ie jacuzzis and hot tubs. Anything else Drs and midwifes said were actually beneficial.

The same goes for what we can and can't eat. Things change on a year to year basis and what is bad one year is fine the next.

Jodie1122334 · 17/07/2018 18:46

@TheWanderlust @angel0071987 thank you both for reassuring me swimming is fine! I suddenly panicked that I'd wasted our money on villas that weren't suitable. I'm also a member of a gym and think my main way I'll get my moneys worth there will be the pool lol!

Baby160P · 17/07/2018 19:51

@Jodie1122334

I had a early scan as I didn't have a clue how far I was gone.

Conceived on the mini pill which means no periods.

I was 7 weeks exactly and we saw a little heart beat, admittedly it looked like a little turtle in the picture but was so lovely seeing the heart and it being in the right place that I cried!!!

Jodie1122334 · 17/07/2018 20:20

That's so beautiful @Baby160P and don't worry I'll probably cry too!! Little turtle lol. That's a cute nickname!

I'm thinking of booking one for about 7 weeks. I'd love to go sooner because I'm impatient but I need there to be a heartbeat else my anxiety will skyrocket !

Hadders1979 · 17/07/2018 20:26

@Jodie1122334 I have booked one for when I'm 6 + 3... would have waited longer but we're going on holiday the next day! The lady I spoke to when I booked seemed confident that we should be able to see something... fingers crossed!! X

Baby160P · 17/07/2018 20:33

@Jodie1122334 I'd definitely recommend it.

I want another but only a few weeks now until our 12 weeks scan! 🤞🏼

babyready · 17/07/2018 20:37

I'm due March 15th - but I'm having some weird pains and am really panicking it's ectopic. I'm in France at the moment, and don't want to cut my trip short unnecessarily, and have an appointment with GP for 3rd Aug... and I figure what will happen will happen, at this stage a GP wouldn't do much but wait and see until an early scan was worth doing (a couple of weeks from now, I imagine?). But I had a cyst on my ovary when I was 18 and they aspirated it laparoscopically. Since then, I sometimes have twinges on that side, if I stand up quickly, or period pains can be a bit more twingy that side. So it's that same twinge, but it's only occasional, not always there or anything. And, of course, the more I think and worry about it, the more I notice it. Is the womb already changing size? Is anyone else having period-type pains? Or twinges?! Otherwise I'm pretty lucky on the symptoms so far - sore boobs, a bit tired, a bit dizzy, but no nausea as yet! It's my first ever pregnancy, and although it was theoretically planned, it was very quick and still caught me by surprise!!!

myotherbagisgucci · 17/07/2018 20:49

Hi @babyready I understand it's easy to just wait and see how things go, but Ectopic's are extremely dangerous. If you've got the following symptoms, you should seek medical attention immediately.

  1. sharp waves of pain in the abdomen, pelvis, shoulder, or neck.
  2. severe pain that occurs on one side of the abdomen.
  3. light to heavy vaginal spotting or bleeding.
  4. dizziness or fainting.
  5. rectal pressure.

You probably think I'm overreacting, but two of my close friends nearly died from not getting checked early!

babyready · 17/07/2018 20:54

@myotherbagisgucci Ooof. OK. As in, I should go to a hospital in France as an emergency, or get on the next plane home and go to Dr asap? I had a tiny bit of spotting about a week ago, but nothing since. None of the other symptoms, and I wouldn't describe the pain as severe... but I guess always to err on the side of safety?! Thanks for your speedy advice x

Eva30 · 18/07/2018 05:21

@athe5292 that's how i feel about telling people, its ridiculous isn't it! I think its because i told people before my last mmc and i thought i jinxed it so im not telling anyone apart from dh this time, the methodology is madness really haha

@jodie1122334 yeah great questio about scans. Completely agree, if i don't see a heartbeat i am going to worry like hell. I've booked one for 6+5 and really hope to be able to see one then.

Anyone else feel exhausted? A woman at work said to me yesterday "you look really tired" which i translated as you look like sh*t Hmm

LuckyKitty13 · 18/07/2018 06:56

@Eva30 I'm absolutely exhausted at 5+6. I came home from work at lunchtime and had an hours nap for my lunch break! I hope it doesn't continue as I've a very taxing job - on my feet 10 hours per day.

Jodie1122334 · 18/07/2018 08:08

@Eva30 oooh fingers crossed for you that you hear the heartbeat! I've done so much research online and there are so many people that have heard a heartbeat early but also so many people that don't and end up paying for another scan a week later. So I'm a bit stuck when to book mine for!

I'm also exhausted and I'm only 4+4. I mean, I'm always tired anyway lol but this is on another level. I think it's probably also a side effect of the fact I'm weaning off caffeine, my body is desperate for a cup of coffee 4 times a day 😂 glad to know it's not just me though

babybrainusedtobesmart · 18/07/2018 08:23

Hi ladies. I'm just sneaking in. I'm due on 31st. Found out yesterday. We're absolutely thrilled, but also a bit terrified as we have a 7 month old!!! She was a December baby and took us 2 years to conceive. Surprised to get pregnant so quickly especially whilst breast feeding!!!

Is Niamh here? From December 2018 Facebook group?

myotherbagisgucci · 18/07/2018 08:26

@babybrainusedtobesmart same here!! DD is 7 months old tomorrow and I'm due on 14th March! 😬
