Got my scan date 12th July. Can’t wait!

purplesmiler · 25/06/2018 08:41

@FuckMyUterus I had some pink discharge and found it was linked to the blood vessels being irritated following a bowel movement. The midwife reassured me so maybe give them a ring?

@sexnotgender thats not too long to wait mine is the 24th July.

This cold has really wiped me out for the past few days but I managed to sleep last night. My boobs have felt really swollen and sore the past few days.

sexnotgender · 25/06/2018 08:54

Not too long at all, and I’m on holiday 2-9th July so time should fly!

InDreamland · 25/06/2018 09:16

@FuckMyUterus sorry i haven't bit5maybe call your midwife to get some reassurance.

@sexnotgender that's fab. Day before mine.

@purplesmiler hope that cold goes soon. At least you managed to get some sleep.

I'm fed up of having to get up every to pee amd breaking my already light sleep. Hating this tiredness and the heat is not helping.

@FuckMyUterus

I have my scan on the same day! And I'll only be 10 weeks then too!

m4rdybum · 25/06/2018 09:56

Anyone else started with bleeding gums? I've read it's common in pregnancy.

Wowthisisreal · 25/06/2018 17:49

@sexnotgender we also just got our scan date through - 13th July! Super pleased as I wanted to announce that weekend for various reasons! It will be 12 weeks exactly then. DH can make the appointment too 😊

InDreamland · 25/06/2018 17:56

@Wowthisisreal are you me lol Wink

12 week scan on Friday 13th July exactly on 12 weeks? Due 25th January unless scan dates differently?

sexnotgender · 25/06/2018 18:01

It’s so nice we’ve all got our scans around the same time.

It will literally be the busiest week ever for me though! I am:
Monday-getting back from holiday at midnight
Tuesday-moving house
Wednesday-Paul Simon concert
Thursday- scan and husbands parents fly in from Johannesburg
Friday- more of husbands family fly in from Hong Kong
Saturday- we are having a big party to celebrate various things
Plus I work full time and all 7/8 of the family members are staying with us.

I actually want to cry at the thought of it all!!

cryptonaut · 25/06/2018 18:19

My scans 9th July, 2 weeks to wait.... time is dragging. Will be exactly 13 weeks. Next week I'm going abroad to give training to customers so hopefully that week will fly by.

Wowthisisreal · 25/06/2018 19:00

@InDreamland I am you apparently!! Haha - how funny to think that potentially there is someone out there with the same details (I mean I know there are thousands probably but still!!)

Jigglyjugs · 25/06/2018 19:02

Ooh you are all lucky to have your scan dates! Been waiting all week for mine, still not come in :(

purplesmiler · 25/06/2018 20:47

Really struggled with the heat today, I really enjoy the warm and sunny weather usually but am finding this heatwave too much. Keep laying down with the fan close by. Had a real dizzy spell in the supermarket earlier which is probably a combination of the heat and pregnancy.

Hope you have all had a good day.

WhirlingTurkey · 25/06/2018 21:58

I got my scan date today too. Also Friday 13th of July. Only a couple of weeks to wait!

InDreamland · 25/06/2018 22:44

@Wowthisisreal it's so nice to have others to go through this at the same time. Looks like @WhirlingTurkey is joining us with the scan date! And with @sexnotgender and @cryptonaut also in the same week we'll all be getting anxious and excited together.

I stayed in and kept to the back of the house where its cooler today. Not looking forward to my commute tomorrow. Got full day of meetings so I'll be on the stifling tube in the peak of rush hour on way in and going home. So worried about passing out. Already get lightheaded and dizzy without the heatwave, it's going to be awful.

FuckMyUterus · 26/06/2018 06:45

Am I the first one to have the dating scan ladies? I'm so, so, so nervous :( looks like I'll be going alone too, as my partner can't get the day off, my moms cats just died so she probably won't wanna come and my partners mom can't get the day off either!

InDreamland · 26/06/2018 08:14

Oh no. I hope your mum will decide to come and hold your hand. Have you asked her? Don't know what your relationship with her is like but I know my mum would if I asked her.

On way into work on the tube and it's already scorchio! I'm wearing my flimsiest dress and flip flops. I swear if anyone in the office comments about appropriate office attire i will give it to them! Noone apart from my boss knows and he's sworn to secrecy. Also, lovely of people at the station to barge me on the stairs! Thanks selfish ignorant animals! Not in a good mood. Barely slept from the heat and needing to get up to pee. I'm so hot on this train. How I'm gonna get home in one piece this evening in the peak rush hour .........aaaarrrggggghhhhhhh.

OP posts:
FuckMyUterus · 26/06/2018 08:48

I have, she said she will, I just feel awful if it's bad news :(
I still have the tiniest bit of spotting, but I don't know if it counts as spotting. There's never anything when I wipe but I'm driven so crazy by my previous losses that I'm shoving a finger up (sorry tmi) to check the colour of my discharge, and it's always stained somewhere between pink and brown. Does that count as spotting or no?

purplesmiler · 26/06/2018 09:12

@FuckMyUterus it's so difficult when you have had some spotting or bleeding, your always on the look out every time you go to the loo. It could well just be your cervix has been slightly irritated that's what I've been advised. Sending you a virtual hug.

@InDreamland I think comfort is the key today sod what anyone else thinks. Take it easy in the heat I know that's easier said than done at work but it's so easy to become dehydrated and exhausted in this heat.

As my due date at the moment is 2nd Feb my scan is later than most on here, although I've had the scans at the EPU so it doesn't feel too long a wait.

Buttercup53 · 26/06/2018 10:01

@fuckmyuterus when is your scan? Mine is on the 4th July, so a tiny bit earlier than most on here it seems. Have you spoken to your midwife about your worries and concerns? I felt completely alone for the last couple of weeks, mental health has been all over the place, so I contacted my midwife and said I needed to see her before the 16 week appointment, not expecting anything to come from it. She’s actually fit me in to see me today for a double appointment just so I have someone to talk to - I think people think midwives are just there for the physical stuff, but if you are extremely anxious, that is as much a health concern as anything physical. There’s no guarantees of an extra appointment, but at least consider getting in touch with her to talk about your worries.

purplesmiler · 26/06/2018 10:10

Agree with @Buttercup53 I was told to contact my midwife for any support and also I could drop in to a clinic if there was one happening near by. They have been really good.

FuckMyUterus · 26/06/2018 11:32

My scan is Thursday, so no one will see me any sooner. Fingers crossed I can report back on Thursday evening that all is well!

Buttercup53 · 26/06/2018 14:09

Anyone else feeling thankful that the third trimester is going to be in winter? This heat is unbearable for the first! My car doesn’t have any air con either, so no better than public transport if I have to drive any time after 7am.

I’ve just come back from my additional midwife appointment and it was so great. Going to have an additional mental health midwife all the way through from now, along with my community midwife and consultant appointments. My local area is extremely poor and underfunded so I’m shocked at the level of help I’m getting, but so relieved.

I think for anyone who is struggling with anxiety, you need to know that you don’t HAVE to go through it without support. Pregnancy doesn’t HAVE to be 9 months of anxiety. There is a major difference between caring about something and being anxious. I hope this comes across as me being helpful and not condescending or anything, but I’ve seen a lot of people on here who seem to be on the wrong side of anxious, but just thinking that’s normal and to be expected. It isn’t. As a person who has severe anxiety and OCD, I can say without any doubt that you don’t have to suffer, no therapist or midwife can make the anxiety go away, but they can give you the tools to make yourself feel better.

purplesmiler · 26/06/2018 14:24

@Buttercup53 pleased your appointment went well and you feel supported. It is so important to access help when needed, I myself have been on a low dose of medication due to anxiety and stress for 3/4 months now as well as accessed other support. This was triggered by my job at the time and a really unsupportive manager. I feel much better in myself now and everyone has noticed. Being pregnant has helped me however I acknowledge that due to my previous MC I have anxious moments.

The heat has been unbearable today, I was a sweaty mess after being out in it for an hour. So yes I am also thankful that the later stages will be in the colder months.

m4rdybum · 26/06/2018 14:43

Have my scan on the 3rd July - one week today.
