👍🏼 sex

I had a private scan last weekend at 16 weeks & found out it’s a boy - my DS is very happy about having a little brother.

It showed some of the scan in 3D which I always thought looked a bit weird but now I think we’ll be having one 🙈

Curlypop · 10/08/2018 16:10

I had a private scan at 16 weeks and found out it's a girl!
I've seen the prom I want on a half price offer. Isn't too early to buy?

FuckMyUterus · 10/08/2018 16:31

purplesmiler I have an NHS scan on Thursday, then one on the 12th September (I think) then one on the 28th October.

sexnotgender · 10/08/2018 16:43

Definitely not too early to buy curlypop!!

sexnotgender · 10/08/2018 17:28

Excuse my language but I really fucking hate people sometimes! Honestly who thinks it’s ok to shove a pregnant lady so they can squeeze on to a train Angry

Firsttimemum1829 · 11/08/2018 06:34

Hi everyone, I am now 19 weeks, has anyone else started getting swollen ankles/feet. Since about Tuesday by the end of they day they look huge. Seems a bit earlier to be getting this? But it’s my first time, so don’t really know? x

Curlypop · 11/08/2018 07:45

Really @sexnotgender I'm only 18 weeks. But I'd save £450! That's a lot of money.
After a miscarriage earlier this year I'm terrified something is wrong with baby and I'll go to my next scan and be told. But I guess lost money on a prom would be least of my worries then.

sexnotgender · 11/08/2018 07:55

Curlypop I bought when I was 6 weeks Smile mine was less than half price!

You’re not tempting fate, whatever will be will happen either way.

You’ll kick yourself in a few weeks time when you need to spend an extra £450 to get the same thing.

I had an early miscarriage this year and it’s horrible but I try not to associate it with this pregnancy as it’s not related.

Think of what else you could treat yourself or your little bean to with that £450 you’re saving!

Curlypop · 11/08/2018 08:17

That's very true @sexnotgender it's a huge saving. Think hubby and I will go back to store today and hope it's still there.
Buying a pram isn't going to make anything bad happen. Like you say it means I can buy baby more! Hope your doing ok after a rough start to year x

sexnotgender · 11/08/2018 08:25

Hope it’s still there for you!

I’m doing ok, I literally got pregnant again on my next cycle Confused and I’ve had a CRAZY busy few months.

How are you doing? It’s hard not to be pessimistic I know x

Curlypop · 11/08/2018 09:01

Snap! I got pregnant on next cycle too so its been crazy emotions! X

cryptonaut · 11/08/2018 09:01

@Firsttimemum1829 I've had some swelling earlier this week (at 16+4) and this is the advice I got: "Definitely elevate your feet above heart level, drink plenty of water with electrolytes and makes sure that when you press the skin it rebounds back to Normal. If it does not, then call the midwife". After 2 days of being off my feet as much as possible and elevating my feet the swelling went down.

GinGeum · 11/08/2018 09:21

I have had some swelling to ankles since about 14 weeks onwards every now and again (and horrendously when we drove back from France). My ankles swell at the slightest thing though when I’m not pregnant, I’m slim (well, was Grin) so I’m not sure why. I always get given the nickname Cankles on holiday!

Firsttimemum1829 · 11/08/2018 09:28

Thanks ladies, that makes me feel a little better, they had gone down again this morning, so will see how it goes again later today and tomorrow. I’m drinking lots of water too x

FirstTimeBumps · 11/08/2018 13:30

Haven't been back here for a while. I've got my 20 week scan on Wednesday (managed to move it from 20+6 with NHS to 20 exactly with OnetoOne) and am nervous and excited at the same time. Has anyone else not had "flutters". Almost every evening between 10 & midnight I have what feels like a few "pops" or pokes. I wish they were a bit harder as I think it would make me feel a bit better and more certain that they were the baby but that fact its happening at around the same time and its low down it making me pretty sure. My midwife listened for the heartbeat at 16 weeks and said that baby was quite low also. Just can't wait to get Wednesday over and done with! x

Curlypop · 11/08/2018 15:51

Eeek! I bought my pram today! Got the cybex Priam for £350 for everything brand new in the colour I wanted from a store closing down! So happy

Kate123cl · 11/08/2018 16:29

@Curlypop We we're looking at Cybex! Where did you purchase if you don't mind me asking? Smile

sexnotgender · 11/08/2018 17:39

Good job curlypop, glad you got it!

Curlypop · 11/08/2018 19:30

@Kate123cl it was a little independent shop near me that was closing

GinGeum · 11/08/2018 21:18

We had a browse in John Lewis today, was just pointing out things like car seats etc that I’ve been on about to DH and he’s given me blank looks about. He was not keen on the Sleepyhead but then spent ages wheeling around the most expensive prams Grin he has since come home and said he’s not completely against the Sleepyhead so I reckon I’ll win him round eventually.

In other news, I feel like my bump is growing by the second. I’ve been getting uncomfortable already, that doesn’t bode well for the later months does it?! How is everyone else doing?

eilidh1986 · 11/08/2018 22:56

Sorry Ladies tmi here but I've literally gave myself the worst sickness & diarrhoea after stupidly eating last nights Chinese that I reheated in the microwave!

I'm so annoyed at myself for being so stupid, but I was being far too greedy!! Husband is fine & we ate the same food but honestly it's been so bad, the cramps so bad too! Really gave myself a fright!!

Learn from my mistakes ladies & don't do what I did!! Confused xx

Newmumtobejan2019 · 12/08/2018 08:48

Oh no that sounds trrrible! Hope you feel better soon.

eilidh1986 · 12/08/2018 09:58

Aw thank you! Thankfully feel fine this morning but was a bit scary last night especially with the stomach cramps! U jst think the worst! Just toast for me today & defo need to get a grip of my diet but when the cravings hit it's so hard to be good!! Xx

FuckMyUterus · 12/08/2018 18:44

Glad you're feeling better! Is anyone else STILL not making it through the day without a nap? All my other pregnancy symptoms have buggered off, apart from the heartburn, however the tiredness is still unbearable most days. Last night I fell to sleep at around 10pm, didn't wake up til almost half 10, and I've just woken up on the sofa from 3.45. Feel like a sloth haha.

GinGeum · 12/08/2018 19:11

Oh yes to the naps! I’ve been pushing myself to make it till 9pm for bed (but sometimes going up at 8pm thinking I’ll regret it and be up early but seem to manage a full 12 hours!). If I don’t nap I really start struggling at 4.30/5pm. It’s not the flu-like tiredness of the first trimester, but just the kind of tiredness you have if you’ve had a few late nights in a row, you know? Or a long day of travelling or something.
