@sexnotgender I can't wear any of my trousers they feel so tight. Living in dresses / maxi skirts.

I am struggling in the heat too. I usually LOVE hot weather but I just feel constantly faint and dizzy, and so so tired. I've been doing a lot of laying on my bed in a vest top and pants with the fan on me. Grin

Had my 16wk check up yesterday and all's fine.

I've bought a next to me crib already, its was a "like new" preloved bargain and is still all carefully packed in it's box like it's never been used. I couldn't pass it up! MIL has been giving the task of buying a cot/cotbed, she's been nattering what can she buy us and itching to spend too so I've given her one quality item to purchase, hoping it stops her buying us 88 smaller items.

I'm itching to buy more but trying to wait if I can!

YourHandInMyHand · 27/07/2018 10:12

I'm keeping an eye out for a bargain travel system. So if anyone sees one let me know. I want it to have car seat, carry cot, and pushchair seat, and it not to cost more than my car did. Wink Can't believe how much some of them cost!! Shock

cryptonaut · 27/07/2018 10:50

@YourHandInMyHand theres a buggy refurb/rescue business near me www.facebook.com/groups/1515186525171786/ there's often full travel systems available for a fraction of the retail price. I don't know where you are but maybe theres something similar nearby? Or maybe try Amazon?

sexnotgender · 27/07/2018 11:28

Yourhandinmyhand this is my bargain www.cosatto.com/shop/last-chance-to-buy/travel-systems/modhero/saigon
Interestingly I bought it for £247 so they’ve increased the price slightly! It gets good reviews though. If you know what you’re having they have a pink version too.

purplesmiler · 27/07/2018 18:47

I actually ended up trying out a couple of prams at the shops today and really enjoyed it.

Have had sick feeling a few times today but think its due to the heat. Hopefully its cooling down now.

purplesmiler · 30/07/2018 08:52

Bumping the thread so it doesn't go too far down.

Hope you had a good weekend. I'm struggling with my back usually on a morning so off to buy a v pillow today for extra support.

Buttercup53 · 30/07/2018 09:06

@purplesmiler I’d be really interested to hear if you recommend the pillow after you’ve tried it out for a while. I’ve got back ache every morning after sleeping, and during the day at work - if I can resolve the issue at night I think daytime would be a lot better.

Hope everyone enjoyed the break in the heat this weekend. I’ve loved being in slightly thicker clothes and not going dizzy every time I do anything in the kitchen! I’m also trying to get back on my healthy eating routine, bought a tonne of green leafy veg at the weekend to boost my iron levels.

On a vaguely related note, I also wanted to ask you guys how much weight you’ve gained? I’m 17 and a half weeks now, got on the scales and I’ve gained nothing - not a pound. I dropped over half a stone in a week when I was around 8 weeks, and gained nothing back since then. I can’t hnderstand it because I’m physically larger, I have a small bump and I’d have thought even my boobs being 2 sizes bigger would’ve made it go up. Should I be worried? Midwife didn’t weigh me at my 16 week app, and my BMI is in the healthy range.

Kate123cl · 30/07/2018 09:11

@Buttercup53 Pretty much same situation as you re weight gain. Since I found out, I've lost 10kgs due to sickness and loss of appetite I guess and haven't put anything on at all since! I'm 14 weeks tomorrow but midwife doesn't seem to be concerned so I wouldn't worry too much Smile

eilidh1986 · 30/07/2018 09:49

Hi ladies,

Hope you don't mind me posting for first time, I'm just getting used to the world of mumsnet.

I'm due my first baby on 17th January (15 weeks + 4 days today) and we had a scan on a Friday as baby wasn't behaving in our first 12 week scan. Anyway excited as we managed to find out we are having a baby boy! Still in total shock even tho I knew it was 50:50! I've always been sure I wanted to know and don't regret it at all as feel I already know him that wee bit more!

Anyway hope your all well ladies & looking forward to sharing our pregnancy journeys with each other!

Eilidh xx

Ps anyone still being sick at this stage?? I've just got my head out the loo! Who said boys didn't make u sick!! 😩😩😩

Kate123cl · 30/07/2018 10:06

Welcome @eilidh1986 ! That's lovely, congrats on your baby boySmileI was also wondering the same think about sickness! Mine also seems to be getting worseSadx

purplesmiler · 30/07/2018 10:47

@Buttercup53 I'm having to put the duvet under my belly for extra support but still waking up with back ache mainly to one side.

@eilidh1986 welcome and congratulations. I'm still getting nausea at some points during the day.

eilidh1986 · 30/07/2018 10:47

Thank you Kate!

It’s definitely not getting any better! Keep telling myself it’s a good sign but my god it gets wearing eh? X

eilidh1986 · 30/07/2018 10:50

Thank you purplesmiler x

Merrz · 30/07/2018 11:05

Hi, mind if i join?
Haven't posted since the early weeks then everyone seemed to disappear to the facebook page haha.

15 + 3 here, due 18th January, still being sick at some point most days and struggling to eat a lot of foods. Hoping the pregnancy glow will kick in soon!

FuckMyUterus · 30/07/2018 11:32

Hi all, here to very smugly inform that my sickness has gone :D I am extremely 'veiny' at the moment though there is not a square inch of my body that doesn't have weird bulgy blue veins showing.

jennac · 30/07/2018 13:55

Hey ladies

Everyone keeps asking me whether I've felt the baby move yet and it's really wearing me down! (I haven't and I wasn't really concerned by this before as know it's still early at 17+6) but my midwife asked me this week and then I told work that I was pregnant and four or five people have been like 'oh I felt it move about now, I'm supposed you haven't' or something similar. It's like leave me alone! Haha. I have to wait another 3 weeks til my 20 week scan so I'm gonna be totally panicking that something is wrong for 3 whole weeks! Irrational I know 🤷‍♀️

jennac · 30/07/2018 13:56

*surprised you haven't

cryptonaut · 30/07/2018 15:09

Wow a lot of activity today.

I have been using a v pillow for a couple of months, I got it because I usually sleep on my front so wanted something to put in front of me so I don't roll too much onto my front. It's worked wonders and it's very comfortable to sleep with it down my front then between my knees.

I haven't put on any weight either, I've been very lucky in that I haven't been sick at all only a little nauseous at times, and I've been stuffing my face with unhealthy foods and had to stop exercising for a bit due to the fatigue and heat wave so I expected to have put on more than weight than I should've but nothing at all. Have my 16 week midwife appointment tomorrow so going to ask her if I should be concerned.

I've read that it's normal in first pregnancies to not feel any movement until at least week 20, and some people feel it earlier because they have already experienced and know what it feels like so they notice it sooner. I'm nearly 16 weeks and haven't felt any movement yet, I'm trying to pay attention to any feelings in that area to try and feel baby but nothing yet :( eagerly awaiting it though!

chickita04 · 30/07/2018 21:15

Hi guys,

Does anyone know if at your 16 week midwife check they let you listen to the heartbeat? Haven't heard it yet and dying to!
Don't want to go in thinking she'll do it and be disappointed if she doesn't!
X

cryptonaut · 30/07/2018 22:48

@chickita04 my midwife told me at my booking appointment that we will listen to the heartbeat at 16 weeks. But I've seen a lot of people say that they generally don't do it anymore at 16 weeks and depends on your area. My appointments tomorrow morning so I can let you after what happened. I'm also dying to listen as I haven't heard it yet either.

Buttercup53 · 31/07/2018 07:50

Thanks to those who have replied about their weight, I’m gonna leave it another week or so, if I don’t gain anything by 19 weeks I’ll give my midwife a call.

RE heartbeat, I listened to mine at my 16 week scan, was a really special moment and the rest of the appointment was pretty short, so if you don’t get to listen to it I have to wonder what the 16 week appointment is for. We listened to it for the majority of the appointment, though she did tell me that it can be difficult to find when it’s still so small. Hope you guys get to hear it.

jennac · 31/07/2018 08:29

@chickita04 I had my 16 week appointment last week and we didn't listen for the heartbeat. She just checked bloods, urine and blood pressure and that was it really.

GinGeum · 31/07/2018 08:32

Hi all, can I join? I’m 17 weeks, due 8th Jan. I wish I’d found this thread earlier. I’ve had horrible sickness and the only ‘support’ I’ve had is MIL making comments like ‘oh morning sickness doesn’t exist, I wasn’t sick at all’ or ‘you’re 12 weeks now so you can stop all that silly being sick nonsense’

I’m still sick now but I think it’s definitely easing, and my energy levels have improved thank god. DH is so busy on the farm so our house has turned into a complete hole because I’ve been too tired to do anything.

I haven’t bought anything yet, I think I will after harvest has finished when I’ll be bored again!
