@FiftyShadesOfDuckEggBlue same here! Currently on an all inclusive holiday and haven't touched any hot food! Just want to eat cheese and onion slices cold! My DP finishes most, if not all, of my dishes!

sexnotgender · 24/07/2018 13:20

I’m just struggling generally with foodSad

FiftyShadesOfDuckEggBlue · 24/07/2018 13:59

Glad to hear I'm not the only one! Smile

FirstTimeBumps · 24/07/2018 16:08

@FiftyShadesOfDuckEggBlue I basically lived off carbs for the entire first trimester. At one point I just sat there with a pan full of home made mash. I'm a fussy eater at the best of times so it was a nightmare and I was starting to worry about the lack of protein in my diet however doctor said not to worry, I was exactly like she had been (mash & frosties) when pregnant and as long as I was eating something then bump would be fine.

I'm now 17 weeks (tomorrow) and although it has returned to some extent, I'm still not as ravenous I was before pregnancy. Hoping as the weeks go on, I'll get more hungry (never though I'd be wishing for that haha)

Here is my scan pic Smile

YourHandInMyHand · 25/07/2018 09:26

Hi ladies, wow this thread moves fast! Smile

I'm still plodding along. Forgot to take one lot of my hyperemesis meds the other day and within a few hours was back to vomiting like the girl in the exorcist. Managed to get more tablets into me and thankfully was back on track the next day.

I sorted out my wardrobe the other day. I now have 2 dresses, 2 pairs of shorts, and some vest tops / Tshirts. Hmm I'd put on weight before the BFP so most were tight to begin with. Want to hold off on maternity clothes for a bit though if I can!

SuperVeggie · 25/07/2018 16:11

Hi everyone, so lovely to see all the scan pics! So exciting. I got my screening tests back finally (after being away on holiday for a week so they were sat at home in a letter but I couldn't see them so was still a bit worried!) and everything looks ok. I've had some bad pains the past week or so however, very low down kind of stabbing pains, feels like my cervix? I went and got examined and they said everything looks fine, and I've had no bleeding, so I'm hoping it's just the pain of everything stretching etc.

Meanwhile... is anyone else really really struggling in this heat?! It's making me feel horrendous! Really doesn't help with the tiredness and nausea that is still kicking around, was hoping it would be gone now I'm nearly 14 weeks!

@YourHandInMyHand I bit the bullet at the weekend and went and got a few cheap maternity bits in H and M. So glad I did, I can now wear trousers again, hurrah! They will only fit for a couple of months before I need to size up but I'm justifying the spend by thinking I'll probably wear them next spring after baby is here but before I'm back in my normal skinny jeans :-D

purplesmiler · 25/07/2018 18:36

@YourHandInMyHand at the moment I am down to 4 dresses and 2 skirts. My vest tops are just about covering my belly lol.

@SuperVeggie pleased everything was ok with your screening results and hope the pain settles.

The heat is making sleeping difficult even with a fan on all night. It does also make me feel a little sick at times especially when I have been walking.

Rabbit15 · 25/07/2018 18:47

Is there a Facebook group for January 2019 babybus? If so who can I PM to add me? I am 14 +3, starting to feel a bit better than the first trimester, but still get the nausea especially in the afternoon and I sleep really bad at night, usually awake between 2-4 am and struggling to go back to sleep.

Buttercup53 · 25/07/2018 21:09

Cannot. Cope. With. This. Heat. I think people think I’m being over the top when I say how hot I am, then they actually feel me and i can only say this baby must actually be a radiator because even other people are shocked at how hot I feel. Keep nearly passing out every day over the last week, and since my blood pressure and iron levels are fine, it must be because of the heat and hormones. I can’t stand up, I can’t walk anywhere, my damn car doesn’t even have air con so there’s no relief. I was in the arctic circle at the start of the year, I would gladly go back to those -25 temperatures for the rest of my pregnancy. Sorry for the rant, it’s just bringing me down! Lovely to see everyone’s scan photos, I’ve got my 20 week scan in a few weeks and I’m excited to see it again. I did a maternity clothes shop in the sales and I’m fairly well stocked now but (another whinge) it’s all slightly too thick to wear right now, so I’m sticking with my basic H&M dresses for now.

cryptonaut · 25/07/2018 22:09

Hi ladies, I have to share this with you guys. Found this face mask in primark yesterday m.primark.com/en/product/full-face-gel-mask,n35397172002990 it's £2, you put it in the fridge for a bit to get it cold and then it has straps so it can stay on your face. I've used it twice today and it's made me feel soooo much better. For a couple of quid it's worth getting one.

purplesmiler · 26/07/2018 08:26

Well ladies today is going to be even hotter I'm staying out of it yesterday was tough. I did manage to sleep but did more loo trips think it's all the water I'm drinking.

@cryptonaut thank you for the tip may take a look at the weekend. I've had one of those hand held fans with me at all times.

Kate123cl · 26/07/2018 13:16

So I had my dating scan this morning and my due date is now 25th Jan! Scan pic attached, wish we knew the sex already!

jennac · 26/07/2018 13:36

Aw beautiful @Kate123cl congrats!!

I've just been for my 16 week midwife appointment (although I'm 17+2) and it was the quickest thing ever! In and out in 10 mins. Bloods all good, urine all good, blood pressure all good, see you in September! They didn't check for a heart beat unfortunately but it was nice to be told everything is okay at least

sexnotgender · 26/07/2018 17:39

Great news Kate, glad it went well.

Thamantha · 26/07/2018 21:03

@Buttercup53 I have found that taking freezer blocks (the kind you use in a cool/picnic bag) and putting them in a teatowel into the bed before i get into it has helped because the bed is cooler then.

Any other tips?

Wowthisisreal · 26/07/2018 21:13

@Thamantha @Buttercup53 I've been doing the same thing - although not bothering with the tea towel!

Wowthisisreal · 26/07/2018 21:20

All - I'm having a teeny tiny (ok maybe full blown) freak out. DH and I have just bought nursery furniture at 14 Weeks 😱

It's madness and I would never have thought I would have done it but M&P had a sale and it was a good deal and we could pay deposit of 25% and get it delivered in November and it's fully refundable if we change our mind but I am still wondering what the hell have we done?!?!

And then I didn't order a wardrobe and my DM is telling me I've been stupid and OF COURSE I need a wardrobe but I'm not sure there will be the room... 😂. Not only that but as you know we are in the process of buying a new house so not even in the house yet.

The madness has kicked in, right?? Has anyone else made some big purchases or just me?!

I'm not really superstitious and it can be fully cancelled but still...

sexnotgender · 26/07/2018 22:04

I bought my pram at 6/7 weeks...

Buttercup53 · 26/07/2018 22:16

@thamabtha that’s a really good idea, I don’t have any ice blocks so can’t do it tonight but I’ll have a look at picking some up tomorrow!

@wowthisisreal I also got a full furniture set in that sale (including a bookcase for the baby who I’m sure will be an eager reader from day one...), and I’ve got a load of clothes other people have bought me. I have a major problem with superstitions, it’s a big part of my OCD, so buying stuff early is almost like exposure therapy for me. Win win!

Wowthisisreal · 26/07/2018 22:26

@sexnotgender @Buttercup53 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 thank you!

cryptonaut · 26/07/2018 23:12

@Wowthisisreal all I've got left to get is the pram! And then small items like healthcare kit, consumables like nappies etc. Leaving the fun things like toys and books for friends and family to get as gifts if they want to

sexnotgender · 27/07/2018 06:58

Glad my craziness made you feel better @wowthisisreal Grin
I got such a great deal on it I couldn’t say no. And whilst money isn’t particularly tight I’d have really begrudged paying £600+ for something I got for £250.

purplesmiler · 27/07/2018 07:50

I haven't bought anything yet but have looked lots. Its exciting to start getting organised.

Im so pleased its cooled down here this morning feel much better.

sexnotgender · 27/07/2018 08:07

My trousers are TIGHT this morning! Urgh, was trying to hold off on buying anything.
