Emma198 are you aware there's a random hand in your bed? Shock

Emma198 · 16/06/2018 06:01

haha yes that's my husband the cat followed him up and got settled before me Envy

So, I'm 15 1/2 weeks, is that too early to feel something? Yesterday I was sat at my desk and felt a one off distinctive almost prod from inside and I've just had it again this morning whilst sat on the sofa Confused

Emma198 · 17/06/2018 12:43

Dont think its common in a first time mum but not impossible either. I keep thinking I do but not sure if it's gas Grin 17 weeks tomorrow.

Who knows then?! It's not something I've ever felt before or since. Could just be last night's Chinese takeaway 😂

Is anyone else finding out the sex at the 20 week scan? You're all a couple of weeks ahead of me I think... Since forever (long before getting pregnant), my husband and I always said we wouldn't but now we're both wavering! (Mainly because I'm sick of looking at beige clothes....!)

HungryN · 17/06/2018 13:31

Has anyone had their whooping cough jab yet? I had it yesterday and my arm is still killing me!

Kt2108 · 17/06/2018 13:34

Ugh! No! How many weeks are you?

Emma198 · 17/06/2018 13:39

Oh no @HungryN Sad

Which appointment did you get it at? I've got my 16 week tomorrow.

Emma198 · 17/06/2018 13:40

@Another we definitely are. I'm finding the same as you- everything beige or grey.

I'm pretty sure my midwife said they'd offer me whooping cough after my 20 week scan

HungryN · 17/06/2018 14:55

@kt2108 @Emma198

I’m 17 weeks tomorrow. I had it separate to my 16 week appointment. I got it booked in at my first midwife appointment but I think my borough are very hot on vaccinations. There were people waiting for theirs at all stage of pregnancy so I think you can get it at any time after 12 weeks.

Well, it is something to look forward to!

ellsbells90 · 17/06/2018 15:36

@HungryN oh no I got mine Wednesday 😩

MrsCrumbtious · 17/06/2018 16:01

My hubby booked a 16 week private scan as a surprise for me 😍 and we’re going to find out the gender then. Nobody else knows yet but we’re going to try and get both families together and reveal it as a surprise.
Got my next midwife appointment in 2 weeks and need a repeat of my platelet count blood test as it’s higher than normal.
Can’t believe we’ve made it to the second trimester!

FarMack · 18/06/2018 10:47

@ellsbells90 sorry to hear your recent midwife appoint appointment wasn't great. I was referred to an east London hospital by my GP but after one midwife appointment felt exactly the same. I decided to self refer to a more out of city hospital, thinking it would be better, but yet again the midwife for my "first appointment" was completely incompetent. Feeling very frustrated I emailed the head of antenatal in the hospital and explained what happened. Had my 16week check up last week with an amazing midwife who couldn't have done her job better. May be worth voicing your concerns also?x

Emma198 · 18/06/2018 12:21

I love my midwife ❤ Had my 16 week appointment today. Found heartbeat and said baby was kicking her probe so let my husband hold the probe so he could feel it too. Of course baby instantly stopped Grin

@FarMack I'll give it another shot at 24-week appt, make sure it weren't just an off day.

Is anyone feeling their baby move? I felt it in the night and a few times today! So strange but love it!!

Kt2108 · 18/06/2018 16:34

Me - just a few pops here and there. One prominent 'flick' but that was a week gone Saturday. Kind of want the prominent ones to make a start now!

Thenotebookvic1234 · 18/06/2018 16:55

I’m due Christmas Day and I feel super bloated, people keep saying I’m really showing but to me it’s not a bump, just new pudge!

WrideD · 18/06/2018 17:54

So glad I found this thread and most people haven't bought stuff yet, I was starting to get anxious about that! I'm 19+4 today, due 8th November and my bump is very noticeable and had been since 14 weeks! Having my 20 week scan on Thursday and finding out sex, it's all too exciting atm, my morning sickness has abated 🙌🏻 but still super gassy and bloated! Excuse my pic in PJs, having a tidying day!

WrideD · 18/06/2018 17:57

Seen as these are first babies, does anyone have a sex preference, me and hubby really want a girl, that's probably bad to say! But obviously delighted either way 😅

Emma198 · 18/06/2018 18:27

Aw @WrideD what a lovely bump! Congratulations.

I genuinely don't have a preference. Husband says he doesn't but I suspect he is edging towards wanting a girl. Heartbeat today was 148bpm at 17 weeks and apparently that falls under girl territory as boys are meant to be slower. We'll see! 3 weeks on thurs.

Thank you! I feel massive at times but overall enjoying the feeling of being pregnant.

I think I just want at least one girl cos I really want that close mother/daughter bond I never had with my own mother, always been envious of that. That's amazing you've heard the heart beat, my MW didn't do that at 16 week appointment. I've only seen it on the scan monitor but that was so special too. Are you finding out the sex at 20 week scan or leaving it a suprise? Congratulations to you too!

li15 · 18/06/2018 19:12

Wow it's so lovely sharing this first experience with others! I have been following this thread for a while but not posted anything yet! I have my 20wk scan on Wednesday. We are not finding out the sex. I have a slight preference towards a boy but either way we'll be happy! Grin that's a lovely bump pic! I am in-between that stage of looking fat and looking pregnant! I can't wait to grow! X

Melaniesunflower · 18/06/2018 22:13

I gave up on normal jeans with hair bobble hack today and put on maternity for the first time...... so comfy, but they keep falling down which is annoying.

AnotherOriginalUsername · 19/06/2018 06:44

@Melaniesunflower after repeatedly hoiking mine back up around my waist for 2 days, I discovered they had an adjustable waistband like kids trousers do
