Also, if anyone wants something seriously comfy and doesn't mind looking like a toddler I can recommend maternity dungarees. Mine are ASOS and I love them!

Emma198 · 03/06/2018 18:23

@Another that sounds convenient! Especially when they're so little and you're taking the seat in and out of the car. My Niece's car seat is a right pain to get in and out. Should probably start some research!

Have any of you ladies who are a little further along than me branched out into those funny pregnancy pillows yet? My husband was away all weekend and I found that propping my legs up with his side of the duvet was both very comfortable and eased the hip pain I've been waking with for the last week or so. It's all very confusing though as there's all sorts of funny shaped ones!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 03/06/2018 18:26

Yeah @Emma198, you can get them for all stage car seats but I'd only use one for the little carry seat thingy to think. My car has isofix points but husband's doesn't - Mothercare lady said it doesn't make it any safer, it's just a laziness convenience thing

hammeringinmyhead · 03/06/2018 18:30

I bought a V-pillow from Ikea. It's been a bit hot to use it so far but it's good for naps.

Emma198 · 03/06/2018 18:31

@Another I've got one! It's a giant U shape. I'm loving it. I got a cheap one as I didn't know if I'd use it but I'm really liking it. It isn't very dense though so think I might invest a bit more as I get further along, it was only £15.

I've just brought my first pack of nappies 😱 feels slightly more real now! Trying to hold off on anything else but I think I've chosen my pram. Just need DH to get his wallet out now 😂

AnotherOriginalUsername · 04/06/2018 12:35

@GreenGooner we've started getting supplies too, just a pack of wipes etc. each time we go shopping. Going to try and get as much as possible for the first year as me being in SMP is going to be a big financial hit.

Meanwhile, I'd sell my soul for an antihistamine 😭😭😭

GreenGooner · 04/06/2018 12:42

Oooh @another hope it eases for you. I'm the same but have no idea what I should get. How many nappies in each size/brand etc. Just going grab a few bits when I go shopping. This may be dangerous as I already waste a lot of money in the supermarket on my lunch break 😭

I'm the same, no idea how to manage on mat pay so just hoping for the best. Trying to save but something always comes up such as car repairs!

Melaniesunflower · 04/06/2018 15:24

I got a free sample of size 1 nappies from Lidl, that's as far as I've gotten. Currently in the waiting room for my 12 (14) week scan...... wish me luck!!!!!!

GreenGooner · 04/06/2018 15:30

Good luck ❤️

AnotherOriginalUsername · 04/06/2018 16:49

@GreenGooner you'll manage, everyone does! We're in the fortunate position that we currently share a house with MiL (nowhere near as bad as it sounds!) so bills and things are split 3 ways which helps a lot, especially after my husband was made redundant and ended up with a significant (5 figure a year) pay cut

Melaniesunflower · 04/06/2018 17:23

All good, little one was very wriggly!! Can finally relax!!

@Another I see you commented on the wrong due date thread. I commented a few times last night but got too infuriated by her. your Mary comment made me laugh 🤣 think we're going to start with wipes, nappies etc a few a week and build it up. got my blood results back today from 12 weeks, all good 😁

GreenGooner · 04/06/2018 19:15

@Melaniesunflower great news, glad to hear all is well. @Emma198 it's such a relief isn't it getting those results.

@AnotherOriginalUsername yes I keep going through little moments about how we'll manage but we'll just have to make it work. We're both quite spendy but as long as we start reigning it in now, we should be ok. Although apparently no more weekly takeaways 😱

I've got a consultant appointment on Wednesday. I think this is regarding my weight but I really can't remember, just so much to take in I didn't listen to that part and just had a letter through the post 😭

GreenGooner · 04/06/2018 19:15

Also, is it too early for bed? First day back today after a week off and I'm shattered!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 04/06/2018 19:45

@GreenGooner don't worry too much about the consultant appointment, mine have been a piece of cake (I've had 3 already!!). They write everything in your notes too if you need to check back on anything.

I'm the spendy one in our relationship. I'm amazed that I didn't even have to convince my husband that the travel system was a great bargain. I'm pretty sure he'd be happy to push his first born around in a wheelbarrow to save a few quid

GreenGooner · 05/06/2018 08:17

Thanks @another I'm not too worried I just wish I could remember what it's for! I've got a mental image of a baby being pushed around town in a wheelbarrow now 😂

Is anyone else losing motivation for work? I usually like my job but just feel like I can't be bothered at the minute and it's just getting in the way of my pregnancy 😭😭

AnotherOriginalUsername · 05/06/2018 09:18

@GreenGooner if your only risk factor is BMI (over 30 I think?) It'll be for that. My consultant didn't tell me anything my midwife hadn't already told me at my booking appointment and my second consultant (why have one, when you can have two!) didn't tell me anything that the midwife and my cardiologist hadn't already told me.

I don't think they do much until you get closer to delivery.

I was perfectly enthusiastic about my job until I've just seen how much the guy is unloading from the back of his van for our drug delivery today Confused

LittleLoveXoxo · 05/06/2018 09:41

16 weeks today! due 20th November. First baby and no real bump unless im laying down and i can feel it with my hand. standing up i just look bloated lol

GreenGooner · 05/06/2018 12:42

Well I'm going back to spinning tonight for the first time since my BFP (not felt well enough before now) so I'm hoping to miraculously lose a stone through sweat in order to reduce my BMI 😂

AnotherOriginalUsername · 05/06/2018 13:18

@GreenGooner I'm going Thursday, I've been too tired up until now. good luck!

Babydust18 · 05/06/2018 15:59

First baby due 13th November i already feel massive! Definite bump showing! We found out we are having a baby girl 🎀👶🏼💗 let the shopping commence. 😬😍

@another I didn't go in the end, trying again tonight.

Congrats @Babydust18 how exciting 💞

ellsbells90 · 06/06/2018 10:09

@babydust18 - What was that scan like so early on? We were going to wait until like 30+ weeks but if its still worth it id happily go to one next week just to see it again haha! x
