I shall download it tomorrow once I've psyched myself up to pay the £10 charge Angry

EL332 · 16/08/2018 22:31

@Another such a clear profile! 😍

dw23 · 17/08/2018 10:45

I know I'm some weeks ahead of most of us on the thread (28+1) but just wanted to mention how amazing the 4D scans are if anyone is thinking of it or booked one. It was the most magical experience ever to see our little girl in that much detail, all her little facial expressions and movements, she even had her leg up by her head at one point! Would highly recommend, we even found out she has some hair and weighing approx 2 pound 11 so all looking really healthy. Makes me want to meet her even more though!

Wow that's amazing!

Has anyone started decorating baby bedrooms yet? We did the painting and carpet a long time ago, but need to finish it off (now BiL has moved out and we don't have to use the room for storage!)

I'm thinking animals but have zero idea where grown ups buy curtains and things from!!

hammeringinmyhead · 18/08/2018 14:05

We have a half-painted room - we needed to paint behind where a heavy chest of drawers were going while FiL and DH were both here to move it. It's basically full of boxes of baby stuff like the cot bed and pram.

We got some white and blue dinosaur curtains from Dunelm with matching wall decals. Blankets etc will be a mishmash!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 18/08/2018 14:33

I was looking at this range from Dunelm www.dunelm.com/product/jungle-friends-bed-linen-collection-b05101 but was waiting until we knew what we were having as I like the dinosaurs too! Looks like we aren't finding out though....!!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 18/08/2018 14:35

My thinking behind it is in the hope that baby won't have my husband's animal fear 😂

orangejuicer · 19/08/2018 10:08

Hey all. another I love that!
We had reduced movement last week which shook me up a bit so I have been avoiding MN a bit.
How is everybody doing for weight gain? I have somehow put on 5lb since late July making it 11lb in total. Does that seem a lot????

AnotherOriginalUsername · 19/08/2018 13:09

All ok @orangejuicer?

I don't know what I've put on weight wise, probably about 15-20lbs (zero nausea played a part, I'm sure!). No one seems concerned about my weight gain and I was overweight to begin with (consultant weighed me and said it was fine) and said that eating healthily was the most important thing (which I do and have been anyway).

BrewsD · 19/08/2018 14:03

Hope everything is ok @orangejuicer

I'm struggling to track my weight to be honest. Ater last Christmas I started dieting and lost 22lbs over 4 months (two months of which I was pregnant and didn't realise) bringing me to 12st. I then suffered with a couple months of hyperemesis shortly after finding out we were expecting, and lost a further 14lbs.
Now (managing to actually keep down 3 meals most days) I am 11st 10lbs... Unsure if that means I've gained 10lbs or lost 4lbs! Midwife seems happy with measurements and size of baby so I'm not too worried.

AnotherOriginalUsername · 19/08/2018 16:39

Lots of talk about reduced movement here over the last week or so - I'm using one of these www.kickscount.org.uk/shop/kicks-count-wristband-purple
I'm awful at not paying any attention to things/spotting patterns but it really helps. Been using it since 24+0 (so about 4 days) and already I know that by midday the counter should be at least halfway round and by 6pm I should be back round to the start for a second cycle.

orangejuicer · 19/08/2018 17:24

Yeah all ok thanks. It was Monday night and he hadn't moved much all day and then nothing in the evening/tea time when he is usually more active. I rang the hospital about 9pm and got there just as he was waking up. I was mildly hysterical Smile All fine - they didn't use a trace (they don't before 26 wks apparently) but did check heartbeat which was nice. I am putting it down to constrictive jeans and a massive evening meal. He's been active every day since but am not counting my chickens. Midwives said to definitely go in if you're at all unsure!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 19/08/2018 17:34

At this stage I think there's so many variables as to being able to feel them (or not). If I'm walking around/standing I barely feel anything but sitting down it's constant

Emma198 · 20/08/2018 20:34

How is everyone feeling xx

hellobaby18 · 20/08/2018 21:28

I've had a pretty easy ride until now but I think at 25 weeks things are finally catching up on me! Heartburn has kicked in and I'm feeling tired much quicker! 15 weeks to go!!!

hammeringinmyhead · 20/08/2018 23:07

I'm doing well really. I walked 9 miles on a city break yesterday! I have my 28 week appt tomorrow morning. I am starting to get a little more tired again.

I was thinking how odd it is today that currently we are never alone. I'll be having a wee or driving to work and I start to feel kicks that remind me there are 2 humans wherever I go...

AnotherOriginalUsername · 21/08/2018 07:50

I'm predominantly tired! I can't complain as I've had such an easy time of it but it's August so lots of people off work meaning I'm doing 50-55 hour weeks, plus I'm really not sleeping well at all. Determined to go to the gym at least once this week in the hope it'll make me sleep better!

Emma198 · 21/08/2018 09:51

@Another i can't imagine working a 50 hour week at the moment, nevermind going to the gym as well! Glad everyone is keeping OK! Heartburn and tiredness for me along with my soreness. Orange Rennies are my best friend.

Hi everyone! Can I ask..... what are people's feeding choices for when their babies are here? I'm really torn between breast or bottle and I'm really worried that if I choose bottle that health professionals will judge! xx

Emma198 · 21/08/2018 11:18

I'm decided on breastfeeding but hoping to start expressing as soon as it's practical so my husband can pull his weight!

I know what you mean about judging but you see so much about Breast feeding mums being asked to leave places etc too. We can't win!

It's the magic golden hour after birth I'm looking forward to!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 21/08/2018 12:22

I'm planning on breast feeding and like Emma198 hoping to express so husband can do his bit. I'm very aware though, that plenty of people can't breast feed and also if my heart goes wrong I may end up back on medication that means I can't anyway (stopped the medication prior to pregnancy as it's teratogenic). I've bought bottles ready for whatever happens, and at the end of the day, as long as baby is fed, I don't really care. I'm beginning to think I'm way too laid back about this whole thing 😂

GreenGooner · 21/08/2018 12:41

Hey. I'm going to be formula feeding. Decided that's what feels best for me.

wimbler · 21/08/2018 12:50

I personally have a very strong desire to give breastfeeding a go. Having seen friends struggle however I know that it isn't always easy and so whilst it is my wish, I fully believe "fed is best" and that as long as mother and baby are happy, that is the most important thing.

If breastfeeding is successful for me I still want to introduce expressed milk at some point to give some flexibility and make sure that others can feed the baby if needed. I'm sure we will use formula at some stage as well. Basically my plan is to be open minded and try to go with the flow!
