I’ve just had my BFP after 3 years of trying, will be DC2 (touches wood). The NHS due date calculator has my due date around the 2nd Feb. Anyone else ready to jump on board? Grin

@Celebelly and @hayleyfx congratulations on the scans :)

@Themagictorch I second calling the EPU and seeing what they can offer Flowers

TheMagicTorch · 19/06/2018 21:00

@skydiving @seafoodeatit I haven't contacted them as I'm only 4 weeks so wasn't sure what they'd be able to do but might try calling in the morning. Can I do that, as I haven't had a doctors appointment yet.

Seafoodeatit · 19/06/2018 21:03

you can contact them, you don't the gp involved in any way. They'll most likely say it's too early for a scan but they may be able to offer you blood tests.

Seafoodeatit · 19/06/2018 21:04

don't need the gp*

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 19/06/2018 21:16

Ive started with the brown spotting now ☹️
I’ve never had this with previous miscarriages though, they’ve all been MMCs.
I don’t think I’m meant to have more babies. Will keep an eye on it and see how it goes..
My symptoms have been increasing today though..? Does that mean anything? (I know it doesn’t really - clutching at straws I think).

Babybeany · 19/06/2018 21:19

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking oh goodness, how scary for you! If it were me I would go straight to A&E and get checked. They can probably put you in for a scan this evening for reassurance. Remind me how many weeks you are? X

MamaSarai · 19/06/2018 21:20

Congrats on your scans @hayleyfx and @Celebelly Smile

Wishing you lots of positive vibes @Skydiving and @TheMagicTorch - hopefully it's just a bit of early spotting.

Nausea kicked in for me big time this morning. Still not actually been sick but getting up and being in the shower was horrendous, lol.

Counting down the hours 'til our follow up early scan on Saturday morning, should be 7-8 weeks by then...

Babybeany · 19/06/2018 21:20

@NotAsGreenAsCabnageLooking I have a few friends who bled throughout their pregnancy if that helps ease your mind. X

Celebelly · 19/06/2018 21:21

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking Oh no! But brown is usually not a bad sign in itself as it's old blood. It could have just been dislodged from a while ago. Fingers crossed there's no more!

MrsSnootyPants2018 · 19/06/2018 21:23

Those who've had early scans are they through the midwife and normal?

With my first pregnancy the midwife took so long to book anything I never had one until 14 weeks

MamaSarai · 19/06/2018 21:23

Oh @NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking - feeling for you. Seconded on the A&E idea though. Sending lots of positive vibes xx

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 19/06/2018 21:24

I’m only 5+2, so it’s really early.

I’ve been sent to A&E with my two recent miscarriages, they won’t scan there.. it’ll just be waiting around with a line in then go back next day. I’ve got my kids here and I’ve not even told my partner yet ☹️

Will see if I can ring the EPU tomorrow morning for any kind of scan. I don’t know if they will.

MamaSarai · 19/06/2018 21:24

@MrsSnootyPants2018 Our early scan is with Babybond so you had to pay for it - it was £89 if I remember correctly. Just couldn't bear the idea of waiting until 12+ weeks to see what was going on.

jeanzbeanz · 19/06/2018 21:26

We told my parents almost as soon as we found out. Really close to them and would need their support if anything went wrong. MIL is a widow and very unwell - told her pretty quickly too cos she needs all the good news / encouragement she can get! And then I told my sister a bit later, she's had two babies so glad of her support. Once I'd had my early scan DH told his brother. Have also told my granny and a close friend. Just people who we would want to know if anything went wrong (and they would probably have guessed anyway!)

We are part of a very close community and I imagine we will go public soon. Getting quite hard to pretend I feel OK 😞

TheMagicTorch · 19/06/2018 21:33

@seafoodeatit thank you, think I will see how tonight goes and may call in the morning.
@mamasarai thank you lovely. I hope so.

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 19/06/2018 21:35

If I hadn’t fallen pregnant... I’d be on day three of period now (or thereabouts).

I don’t want this sugar coated.. so if I’m talking shit please stop me, but does that make this bleed less doom and gloomy?

Is this when people normally bleed in pregnancy (if they do so harmlessly?)

MrsSnootyPants2018 · 19/06/2018 21:36

@MamaSarai ooohhhh thanks for that. I'll have a look into that. I have no patience so will be good if I can persuade DH.

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 19/06/2018 21:36

Thank you for the positivity by the way peeps, it’s much appreciated x

Celebelly · 19/06/2018 21:37

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking Yes! Breakthrough bleeding when your period would have been due isn't uncommon.

Celebelly · 19/06/2018 21:39

"Some women may experience what is known as breakthrough bleeding around the time when their period would have normally been due. Breakthrough bleeding is generally light and likely to be accompanied by some common period symptoms such as back ache, cramps and feeling bloated.

Breakthrough bleeding can last for around three months and some women may experience bleeding throughout their whole pregnancy and still go on have completely healthy babies."

MamaSarai · 19/06/2018 21:41

@MrsSnootyPants2018 same here 😂 luckily this being our first DH is a bit like - 'yeah, whatever you think is best' 😂😂

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking Second what @Celebelly said - could just be breakthrough bleeding

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 19/06/2018 21:43

God I really hope so... thank you.

Feel slightly better but still shitting myself x

TheMagicTorch · 19/06/2018 21:45

@notasgreenascabbagelooking i would be due AF today. Its definitely not the same as AF i'm normally very heavy.

@celebelly I hope thats what this is as today I'd be due on. It's pretty light but bright red.

Leonora94 · 19/06/2018 21:47

@Babybeany my dh went away for work as well on Sunday so I know how you feel...flat sick and a nervous! I have no one here to stop me googling 😂 it will be okay x

TheMagicTorch · 19/06/2018 21:47

We've been looking at the babybond early scans too, our local mothercare does them from 6 weeks for £89, we want to book for around 8 weeks, all being well.
