I’ve just had my BFP after 3 years of trying, will be DC2 (touches wood). The NHS due date calculator has my due date around the 2nd Feb. Anyone else ready to jump on board? Grin

Just had my early scan. Measuring spot on with my dates at 6+3 and heartbeat of 117bpm! I'm so delighted!

KimRobs87 · 19/06/2018 19:39

@Celebelly - aww amazing xx

Babybeany · 19/06/2018 19:46

Fabulous scan news girls! Congratulations to you both! 💖 x

bubblybrit · 19/06/2018 19:50

Just wondering if any of you ladies have told your parents or in laws about your pregnancy yet? I’m 5+5 tomorrow and going to the theatre with both sets of parents. I want to tell them but my DH thinks it’s too early and we should wait until 12 weeks. It’s my first pregnancy and don’t know what is the norm.

clairehr · 19/06/2018 19:55

@bubblybrit We have told only my parents at this stage. We decided to simply due to having MCs before and having to tell them after the fact which was horrendous.

Decided this time that we'd rather keep them up to date as we'll definitely need to lean on them should something go wrong, but they've helped us out so much that if all goes well it's a lovely thought that they've known first out of everyone!

His parents aren't close to us, we don't have a fantastic relationship with them so leaving it to tell them at 12 weeks.

MrsSnootyPants2018 · 19/06/2018 20:03

@bubblybrit with first pregnancy we told everyone at around 6/7 weeks and we'll do the same this time.

MrsSnootyPants2018 · 19/06/2018 20:04

We wanted to sooner but SIL announced she's pregnant and my MIL will just accuse us of stealing her thunder.

FrowningFlamingo · 19/06/2018 20:06

@bubblybrit we've told ours but we see them a lot anyway so they would have guessed - it's unual for me not to be drinking! Plus we would want their support if anything does go wrong.

TheMagicTorch · 19/06/2018 20:09

@skydiving hope you're doing okay tonight and get some rest.
I've been spotting today and it's quite red and I've seen a few small clots this evening. It's not enough to fill even a pantyliner and mainly just when I wipe but I'm thinking the worst Sad
DP just keeps saying it'll be fine

twiglet · 19/06/2018 20:11

@bubblybrit we told parents on Sunday at about 6 weeks but stated its early days.
I think it's a personal choice but having close family/friends for support is the most important thing. My friend works in counselling and often stresses the importance of having a support network throughout regardless.

We do seem to live in a society where talking about MC is taboo and hushed when it's important if the unfortunate does occur to be able to talk about it. I know it would have helped me in the past.

clairehr · 19/06/2018 20:11

@TheMagicTorch @skydiving Look after yourselves ladies, sending positive vibes to all!

Babybeany · 19/06/2018 20:16

@bubblybrit I told my mum today. Like others on this thread, it’s odd for me not to drink wine! She would’ve guessed! 🤭 Plus, like others have said, it’s good to have support if (heaven forbid) it all goes pear shaped. X

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 19/06/2018 20:19

I’ve not told anyone other than my other half and two close friends. He hasn’t told anyone.

My parents will be the last people I tell, once my mother knows it’ll be public knowledge.. regardless of whether I ask her to be discrete or not.

bubblybrit · 19/06/2018 20:22

Thank you to those that replied. I’m very close to my parents and mil so think I’d like to tell them tomorrow. We are going for lunch beforehand and we usually share a bottle of wine so it would make them suspicious anyway!

DH isn’t close to his father so would wait 12 weeks before telling him.

TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong · 19/06/2018 20:24

@bubblybrit we haven't told anyone at all! 🙈 we're forced to tell at 9weeks with my first, but both wanted to wait until the scan. We will wait until the 12week scan this time 🤞 still AGES to go until then though!!

Congrats @Celebelly and @hayleyfx lovely scan pics-you must both be thrilled!

Leonora94 · 19/06/2018 20:25

@hayleyfx @Celebelly congratulations on your little bean scans it’s so amazing to see! I think we’re going to book an early scan for two weeks time as I’ve decided waiting till 12 weeks is too long! After the scan we will tell parents, I wanted to sooner but DH wanted wait till 12 (the early scan is the compromise). I’m soooo bloated/have indigestion right now it’s actually awful never had anything like it before, is there anything I can I do to ease it a bit? x

Celebelly · 19/06/2018 20:28

Thanks everyone! And congrats @hayleyfx too
I celebrated by scoffing a huge amount of McDonalds and it was SO GOOD.

KimRobs87 · 19/06/2018 20:31

Gutted - just had spag bol for tea, was starving! Got 1/4 and nearly hurled! Guess that's one to knock off my list x

TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong · 19/06/2018 20:31

Ha @Celebelly Maccy D's would be great-I craved a subway earlier, but we had domino's the other day 🙈 so I had a lump of cheese...!

bubblybrit · 19/06/2018 20:37

@TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong. I don’t think I’d be able to hold out 12 weeks before telling anyone! I’m struggling being at work and not telling those in the office that I’m closest to! Agreed with DH to tell parents and mil only (although I think he will want to tell his brother shortly as well)

Celebelly · 19/06/2018 20:41

Haha, my DP is always making fun of me for eating bits of cheese! I could have eaten two McD's I think as I'm starving today! My stomach was rumbling all through the scan.

Babybeany · 19/06/2018 20:42

I don’t think I have ever eaten so bloody healthily in my life! Once I’ve had my first scan I think I’ll relax a little (maybe even treat myself to a McDonald’s @Celebelly).
I’m feeling a little lost tonight. Boyfriend is away with work for the week and I’m dwelling on every last symptom. Got a feeling I’m going to get a bit tearful tonight. 😢

Skydiving · 19/06/2018 20:49

Congratulations to those who have had scans, lovely little wiggly beans Smile

Themagictorch have you tried your local early pregnancy assessment unit? Give them a call they may scan you.
It’s truly awful the worry I’m scared to go to the toilet incase I’m bleeding.
I’m going to ring my epau back in a few days if this hasnt stopped and see what they say.

TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong · 19/06/2018 20:50

Oh @Babybeany! Just vent on here!! I know what you mean though-it's hard when OH goes away. Mine is off for a few nights here and there for work before the summer hols, which means I'm left with our son (2.5years). Obviously I love my son dearly but my god is it hard work when you just want to sleep/curl up in a ball/feel sick! He just goes "get up mummy, play with meeeee" "mummy are you okay?" Sweet really!
