I’ve just had my BFP after 3 years of trying, will be DC2 (touches wood). The NHS due date calculator has my due date around the 2nd Feb. Anyone else ready to jump on board? Grin

Seriously sore nips tonight! 😖

elocwildflowerxx · 17/06/2018 22:16

ladies how are midwives dating a pregnancy i think i may have got mine so wrong? i have irregular periods so i really have no idea what i am i've just calculated from the date i believe to be the night of conception? but are you supposed to add 2 weeks ish to that because my friend who's a midwife said that that's normally the norm if you don't have regular periods or can't remember the first day of last period? i'm so confused and it would probably make sense all these symptoms if i'm further along..

Babybeany · 17/06/2018 22:19

@elocwildflowerxx I am pretty sure you go from the first day of your last period. But then that can’t make perfect sense as everyone has different length cycles. When did you dbd? I would add 2 weeks on before that date if your cycle is rather long x

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 17/06/2018 22:21

I’d say that’s about right... my last period date was the 13th May, however... I’m sure I ovulated/conceived on the 27th. So that’d be two weeks difference on a fairly average cycle.

ronniemipperton · 17/06/2018 22:28

@elocwildflowerxx If you’ve got the Ovia pregnancy app you can add conception date rather than date of your last period and it’ll work it out for you.

booxox · 17/06/2018 22:32

@hayley013 I'm not sure which Uni you go to so might be differ. I go to Brookes and we have the option to graduate in September if we don't make the May hand ins or for mitigating circumstances. x

hayley013 · 17/06/2018 22:51

Yeah I think ours is the same, thankyou for reminding me about that @booxox

I'm not sure how it works for certain but I'd imagine if you go from conception it would make sense to add 2 weeks which would then work out the same as going from first day of period roughly.

@MelC83 we've also decided to just wait until normal 12w scan, though we're fortunate enough to not have reason for concern. Still seems like forever away though x

Leonora94 · 17/06/2018 23:01

@booxox I go to Brooke’s too! Graduate this August! Small world 😊

somethingfromnothing · 18/06/2018 00:03

I have been exhausted all day and everyday for the past week. But tonight I can’t sleep! So obviously I’m now worried that I’m going to loose this pregnancy because my symptoms are disappearing. Argh!

FrowningFlamingo · 18/06/2018 05:31

@elocwildflowerxx they use something called Naegele's rule, which I think they adjust in some way depending on your cycle length. I was taught it in a level biology and remember finding it confusing at the time too! But essentially yes, it's 40 weeks from 2 weeks before conception (ish!). Confusingly I think the clear blue tests that show you 'week' are weeks from conception but I might be wrong about that.

MrsSnootyPants2018 · 18/06/2018 11:53

The cleavage tests do it from the day you actually conceive where as the midwife will date from the first day of your last period.

I was so confused by this with my first pregnancy!!

booxox · 18/06/2018 12:07

@Leonora94 awww wow such a small world! I hope your graduation goes well! I can't wait to graduate, I've had enough of Uni x

hayley013 · 18/06/2018 12:40

How is everyone today? My skin is awful! I was finding those huge vitamins made me feel bad too so went and got some folic acid and vit d today

KimRobs87 · 18/06/2018 12:43

@hayley013 - in a word, rough! Lol. I'm OK though really, just a lot more nauseous than my first pregnancy with DS. At least we know it won't last forever (crossing everything as I type!) xx

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 18/06/2018 12:46

I wish I felt worse...

I’m still not sure if I’m imagining mild symptoms because I want them so much, or if I really do feel a bit sick, etc.

I am tired and bloated though. Mostly just on edge constantly... I just wish I knew one way or the other how this is going to go 🤷🏻‍♀️

Alicejj8x · 18/06/2018 12:48

Hello every one can I join

I've got my BFP last Monday :)
I've previously had 2 MC so this one I'm worrying about the slightest of things

I reckon I'm around 4 weeks? Clear blue last night said 2-3 weeks

Has anyone got any major symptoms ?
Some days I feel I have a few the others I would
Forget I was pregnant if I didn't know? Just worrying really

AliceRR · 18/06/2018 12:52

Hi Ladies

May I join you?

I am 6 weeks today (based on last period) and also in West Yorkshire (live in Bradford, work in Leeds).

Same as a lot of you I’m so pleased and excited to be pregnant but also really worried about something going wrong!

I’m tempted by this habit some of you have of taking tests just to make sure it’s still positive!

AliceRR · 18/06/2018 12:55

Alice i think that’s normal. I have definitely had symptoms (sore boobs, feeling “hormonal”, spots but different to PMT which was a clue although cleared up a bit already, nausea on and off, mild cramping) but then some days I feel nothing.

It’s about 10 days since my BFP

twiglet · 18/06/2018 12:57

Very rough today the nausea has been getting worse over the weekend today instead of waves it was constant for 4 hours 😐
Ginger seems to make it worse for me! It's looking like I might need to tell work soon as well as people are noticing my tiredness.....

hayley013 · 18/06/2018 13:05

@KimRobs87 bless you, I'm the opposite, was mega bad with sickness with DD, and not got it as bad this time at the same stage, just nauseous but it tends to go if I keep eating.

I've just had an hour sleep, though hope that doesn't mean I will stare at the ceiling tonight, couldn't keep my eyes open though. Off to the doctors at 4 to have preg confirmed so I can be referred to midwife. Seems a drawn out process

MelC83 · 18/06/2018 13:09

I woke up feeling quite nauseous today everyone at work keeps asking if I'm ok (joys of a small office), I want to keep it quiet until had a scan but that is going to be weeks away given I don't see the midwife for another 4 weeks! Haven't actually been sick but came very close first thing and the thought of eating makes me gag but going to have to attempt something for lunch soon!

MelC83 · 18/06/2018 13:10

But in a way I'm glad to be having symptoms just to remind me that hopefully that means everything is going the way it should do!

KimRobs87 · 18/06/2018 13:26

@hayley013 - that does seem a long process? My docs don't need to see me and if my first is anything to go by, they never confirmed my pregnancy so don't think will this time? I wish they would lol.

@MelC83 - totally get what you mean. It's not nice but keep telling myself it's because I have a strong little bub growing xx

Alicejj8x · 18/06/2018 13:31

@AliceRR nice name aha :)

Ahh okay that makes me feel abit better knowing there off and on and I think where I'm early maybe they will develop soon I hope :/ just constant worrying isn't it

Yellow100 · 18/06/2018 13:41

@ronniemipperton

@NotAsGreenAsCabbage

I've got very few symptoms too, from what I've read symptoms vary widely for everyone. The odd cramping here and there, very hormonal, a little tiredness but that's about it. I'm 6 weeks +1 and have an early scan at the clinic on Thursday morning. Days are dragging! Good luck everyone Smile
