I’ve just had my BFP after 3 years of trying, will be DC2 (touches wood). The NHS due date calculator has my due date around the 2nd Feb. Anyone else ready to jump on board? Grin

@bubblybrit i had a similar really bad period like cramping and back and stomach ache last weekend followed by a small spotting bleed when i wipes i freaked out! but nothing since touch wood and i tested two days ago and still had a positive test, it isn't normal for everyone though so if your worried ring your maternity unit and ask for advice, i think if it goes past spotting then your supposed to be checked over don't quote me though😘

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 17/06/2018 19:14

@elocwildflowerxx

I’m sure a low weight, high rep workout would be ok... but check with midwife just in case, I think it’s more high impact and core strength are the ones to be careful about..

But I’m basing that on my own personal assumptions tbh!

MelC83 · 17/06/2018 19:15

Yeah I was on an extreme weight loss and fitness regime but still overweight but now going to put that on hold for sake of baby's health I just wanted to keep up doing something for a bit to limit the weight gain I guess! Maybe I will go to class tomorrow and explain and let the instructor decide if he wants to still train me - if he chooses not to at least I can put membership on hold and then do lower impact exercise between now and baby arriving

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 17/06/2018 19:17

I’m currently doing the squat challenge... I’m meant to do 80 squats today, but I’m so tired!!! 😩😩😩

MelC83 · 17/06/2018 19:18

@cloud9889 I keep feeling nauseous too but like you not actually been sick but thought of eating anything with strong flavours really gets me! Also been napping loads this weekend so tomorrow in the office could be interesting!

@bubblybrit hope all is ok with you - I have no advice to add but hope all turns out to be good for you

MelC83 · 17/06/2018 19:19

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking 80 squats now that's a lot of squats!! I'm thinking if things like squats are good I may still do classes for a bit and just drop the weights and go for body weight moves - something has to be better than nothing

bubblybrit · 17/06/2018 19:19

Thank you @elocwildflowerxx. I’ve had mild cramping on and off for the last week that were normal according to those with more experience. However this is the first cramp I’ve been concerned about. Luckily no spotting or bleeding so taking that as a positive but will mention it when I call my clinic tomorrow...hope you are feeling better now x

bubblybrit · 17/06/2018 19:21

Thank you @MelC83. Fingers crossed it’s nothing to be concerned about. Not sure if googling ‘normal’ symptoms is a good thing in my case! Xx

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 17/06/2018 19:23

Squats are recommended in pregnancy from what I have read! I’m going to combine them with shoulder presses. I do sumo squats as they’re easier on my knees and joints.. but they are actually more beneficial than the standard squats x

clairehr · 17/06/2018 19:27

@MelC83 Used to work in leisure industry and we were always told that low impact exercise is great whilst pregnant and low weight, high reps is fine, for as long as you're able to keep it up. Exercise that your body is already used to was also always deemed ok, as it's not a shock to your system... as long as it's not high impact. Double check with midwife though as things change so quickly!

MelC83 · 17/06/2018 19:31

Thanks @clairehr if my PT has no experience with training in pregnancy then to be safe I'll look elsewhere so think I'll just have to tell him even though not quite 6 weeks yet then decide what to do

MelC83 · 17/06/2018 19:34

@bubblybrit it is hard to not google everything i am trying to resist googling everything myself as it is hard to focus on the good reports more than bad, that's why I'm glad I found this place to get reassurance from those currently in the same position

ronniemipperton · 17/06/2018 19:43

I’m avoiding weights but doing still body weight stuff. One of my instructors said sit ups are fine in the first 12 weeks (though don’t go nuts) but avoid anything that involves twisting too much.

I’ve gained 15kg since last summer as I had hypothalamic amenorrhea and had to give up exercise to get my periods back. Would love to shed some of it as I can’t fit into any of my clothes (went from a 10 to a 16!) but I don’t think now is the time. Going to keep going to the gym but focus on yoga, pilates etc as well as lots of walking.

MelC83 · 17/06/2018 19:54

Thanks @ronniemipperton I'll just take it easy between now and midwife appointment on 17th July then look to take up different exercises based on her advice

bubblybrit · 17/06/2018 20:01

Yes me too @MelC83. Especially as I don’t want to worry my DH unnecessarily!

Leonora94 · 17/06/2018 20:17

@FrowningFlamingo I know I was pretty shocked, we get on really well to be fair she’s in her mid 30s and never really been my step mum as she met my dad when I was 18. Still really weird...😂

Celebelly · 17/06/2018 20:36

The nausea has hit today! I'm constantly venting between being hungry and feeling sick and sometimes both at the same time. It's very confusing.

TheMagicTorch · 17/06/2018 20:48

I'm 4 weeks tomorrow and have been super tired! Lower back quite painful and had a few cramps but otherwise okay. We've been looking at early scans for around 8 weeks @littleonek for the same price - I just feel with finding out so early 12 week scan feels so far away!

MrsSnootyPants2018 · 17/06/2018 20:49

@Celebelly I hear you!

Been a bit nausea in the car but this evening it has felt worse and a headache to match!!

Also, those who aren't in their 1st. Are you looking podgy? I'm only around 5.5weeks but OMG my mummy shelf has expanded! I know people say you show quicker with number 2 but surely not like this. DH and I said it must be the bloating stage.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 17/06/2018 20:56

@MrsSnootyPants2018. I was playing on the Xbox with DH last might and I was kind of slouched, I looked down at my tummy and was like "Man I'm fat!" I was dieting just before I got pregnant and my tummy was slimming down but now it looks bigger than it did before the diet!

hayley013 · 17/06/2018 21:12

@booxox I've also just finished my 2nd year of uni, going into my final year. I haven't told my tutor yet but will have to contact her and get advice as won't see her now until end of sept when I'm back, not sure if I'll be able to aim to get everything done in time for due date or if that's a bit ambitious.

Feel so sick and irritable today, but only slept 4 hours or so last night, been a tough one after spending day with family that don't know! Feel guilty for being a bit moody with OH though he says he understands, sure there'll be plenty more of that to come haha.

Forgot how much this turns our body upside down, I'm so grateful to be able to come and vent here Smile

fizzledays · 17/06/2018 21:19

@MrsSnootyPants2018 I am SO bloated it's crazy. I feel huge compared to normal and only 5 weeks today!

Kintan · 17/06/2018 21:37

TheMagicTorch my lower back is painful too! I’m 6 weeks and wasn’t sure if was pregnancy related. Don’t remember this happening last time.
Hope everyone’s had a nice weekend :)

booxox · 17/06/2018 21:38

@hayley013 congratulations! I thought that too. I think realistically by the end of January I will be so exhausted I don't think Uni Work will be on my mind! I'm hoping I'll be able to apply for mitigating circumstances and change my hand in date to July and graduate in the summer. I'm really not looking forward to doing my dissertation. It must happen quite a lot so Uni's must be prepared and have steps in place xx

hayley013 · 17/06/2018 22:04

Oh yeah I never thought about that @booxox but would we still be able to graduate that summer handing in in July? My graduation would be in July. I know there's another graduation in the winter but I want to try and avoid making it a longer process, though realistically it might have to be, not like I'll be able to walk into a job that year I guess x
