I’ve just had my BFP after 3 years of trying, will be DC2 (touches wood). The NHS due date calculator has my due date around the 2nd Feb. Anyone else ready to jump on board? Grin

Hi @DollyDaydreamz we have the same EDD! My 1st was born at 35w due to PPROM and I was worried about it happening again as there was no explanation for it. My 2nd was born at 39+4, hopefully it will be the same for you and you'll go to term this time but I understand how worrying it is.
I'm probably going to wait til 6w til I contact my GP to make my booking appointment.

DollyDaydreamz · 09/06/2018 08:19

@MrsY87 that is exciting same EDD!

Good to hear from someone else that has experienced a PPROM that it is possible to carry to term! Most I have spoken to suggest higher risk of PPROM second time round!

Really hope it’ll be same for us this time! I feel like I missed out on my pregnancy last time round as DD came so early! It was all completely unexplained for us last time too.

Did they give you any more checks with your second?

Congratulations again - hope everything goes well for you x

Tentatively joining you here, LMP says 29th Jan but I know when I ovulated
I thought I had a period in may, but a week after found out I was pregnant. I had spotting ever since, light and brown. I had a miscarriage in 05, DD was born in 08. We've only recently decided to try to complete our family, for a long time I was adamant 1 was enough - I think it was my fear of miscarriage that stopped me.

GP referred me to EPU, they found a sac measured 7mm, bloods at 2590 which puts me at 5 weeks but on her report she said the sac didn't behave as it should went touched so she listed it as a mass. I can't tell you the panic that created in my head. Started convincing myself of cancer and all sorts. I have more bloods again today and monday, if they have doubled they will rescan, I think if they can't confirm what they thought was a sac is a sac they are worried about eptopic. Decline I guess would suggest what I fear.
I personally can't see how a tiny little bean could have survived what felt pretty close to a full period in May and subsequent mild spotting for a week.
Spotting stopped now, but I think she took out quite a bit of blood from the internal scan thing.
Started to feel period pains yesterday, whilst I've read they can be normal when I look at what's happened in just a few weeks I'm struggling to have hope it will be ok.
Going from what I fully expected to be a miscarriage to the delight at seeing a sac then the panic at 'mass' I think I've done all the crying I'm capable of doing.

I'm not sure I could put myself through this again if it goes the way I fear.

Dp remains optimistic, I'm not sure how!

Welcome and huge congrats to everyone who has joined recently! I hope you all have very healthy and happy pregnancies.

@LouiseD2018 I’m so sorry for how much stress you’re going through right now, that must be so scary. I hope everything is alright, fingers crossed for good news. Let us know how you get on. Try to stay as positive as possible hun! 🤞

seafoodeatit · 09/06/2018 10:26

Welcome to all the newcomers!

@mrsy87 - we're going to have 3 under 3 as DC2 will be 2 and a half and DC3 will be one and a half when baby is born. You'll manage don't worry about it, I've found the small gap between 2 and 3 fine.

LouiseD2018 · 09/06/2018 10:28

@hayleyfx thank you, I will update whatever the news.

Good luck to all x

ronniemipperton · 09/06/2018 11:44

@LouiseD2018 can’t imagine how stressful that must be. Keeping everything crossed for you.

MrsY87 · 09/06/2018 13:03

Thanks for the reassurance @hayleyfx DD was just being really hard work this morning so I had one of those panic moments...I'm sure that it will be fine on the whole!

@LouiseD2018 that sounds so stressful, I'm so sorry you are going through this. Keeping my fingers crossed for good news for you.

MrsY87 · 09/06/2018 13:04

Sorry meant to tag @Seafoodeatit baby brain already! 🤦‍♀️

Wordie · 09/06/2018 16:23

What do you think about paying for an early scan at 8 - 10 weeks? Not sure I can hold out!!

KimRobs87 · 09/06/2018 16:28

@Wordie - I've been tempted. Haven't booked anything yet as have managed to talk myself out of it x

KimRobs87 · 09/06/2018 16:29

P.s I don't think you shouldn't, just trying to tell myself to chill lol x

TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong · 09/06/2018 16:48

@Wordie we won't be bothering with an early scan at all-just worrying until 12weeks 😂 I'm hoping morning sickness kicks in next week to at least help me to feel preggo x

KimRobs87 · 09/06/2018 17:23

@TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong - Haha I thought it was just me. I'll be 6 weeks on Monday! Other than really sore boobs and backache (and the bloat) I wouldn't know! X

babyhopeful2018 · 09/06/2018 17:51

Hi All

Just received my BFP and EDD is 16th Feb (online calculators)

As this is my first child just wondering when people contacted GP to make appointments?!

Clear blue digital says 2-3 weeks so I'm I better waiting until 10 weeks or so or do you phone ASAP?!

Sorry just completely new to this xxx

Fredthespider · 09/06/2018 18:08

Congratulations! Where I am you can self-refer straight to the midwives, I searched on my local NHS trust website for the details and they have a booking form you can fill in online. I have an appointment in just over 2 weeks time for when I'm 8 weeks. They say they like to see you before 12 weeks so I wouldn't wait until you're 10 weeks as there could be a wait for an appointment.

TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong · 09/06/2018 18:09

@babyhopeful2018 congrats!
You'll need to get a 'booking in' appointment with midwife for 8-9weeks. Some places like you to see a gp first but most don't these days-ring Drs and ask their process.

@KimRobs87 going by period date I'm 6+2 now but by ovulation I'm 6w on Tuesday...which is the one I'm working with so I don't get time 'added on' iykwim!! Not seeing midwife until 5july 😱it's AGES away!!!

Wordie · 09/06/2018 18:30

Think this is why I’m looking at them! I seemed to have symptoms 4dpo, faint line 8dpo and now I feel like shit! Nausea, exhausted and diarrhoea (TMI) I’m convincing myself it’s twins! 😳

hayleyfx · 09/06/2018 19:05

@Wordie I’m getting an early scan at 7 weeks - just over a week to go 😬 in my last pregnancy I ended up having a missed MC. I think it would have been slightly easier for me if I had found out when it actually happened & not 4 weeks later. However it didn’t even cross my mind last pregnancy! I was so positive. This time I’m too negative and worried to not have one. (Justifying spending £100 on one haha) However don’t worry about that they are very uncommon, I was just unlucky sadly. So it just depends if you want another chance to see bub! 😊

@KimRobs87 I’ll be 6 weeks on Monday too! Every week feels like a milestone!

KimRobs87 · 09/06/2018 19:08

@Wordie - my sisters and mum keep telling me I'm having twins, both girls apparently! They actually run on my dad's side.

@TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong - I know exactly what you mean! It was the health visitor who worked mine out but it makes sense. My appointment is 21/06 and I felt hard done by - poor you! X

seafoodeatit · 09/06/2018 19:20

@mrsy87 every time one of the kids is playing up I think what have I done!

To those wondering about booking appointments it's worth calling your gp surgery and asking the receptionist, at my local place you call the midwives directly and book with them, the soonest they'll see you here is 8 weeks but you can book the appointment early.

TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong · 09/06/2018 19:53

@KimRobs87 yours is 2weeks before mine!!! 😱😱 I've been duped! (Not that anything really happens in this appointment but still! At this rate I prob won't have 12w scan until 14weeks 🙄😫)

KimRobs87 · 09/06/2018 20:02

@TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong - where abouts are you? I'm in West Yorkshire. Seems everywhere is slightly different. The HV told me they'll book my scan in at this appointed too x

TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong · 09/06/2018 20:19

@KimRobs87 I'm in the South, receptionist said 8-9weeks but that puts me 9+ so grr about that but hey. Yes they should book scan in then but because it'll be later I bet all appointment slots will be gone! 😂

KimRobs87 · 09/06/2018 20:25

I hope not! That scan can't come quick enough x
