my god its hot here! i can feel my back sizzling as i type!!! must put more suntan cream on dd, esp as she is a redhead and burns at the slightest glimpse of sun!

got my scan in less than an hour! kind of excited and nervous! really going to try and find out the sex. dh has agreed i can find out and just not tell him!!!

Hi everyone - quick post to day good luck Greedy - although I'm guessing you've already left. Hope you get to find out the sex of your daughter (ooops, sorry just my prediction)

Firststar, I really do sympathise with you. I also get comments like that. Just the other day my mum and aunt were at it again. I heard them tlaking to each other and saying "God, she's still got over 8 wks to go!". So its not even like they were trying to wind me up. But I saw MrsMc today for lunch and she told me I was very neat! THANKS!!!! Just ignore the buggers all you can and be proud of your nice big bump .

Really keen to get home and measure my tunmy round the middle. Like you Bodkin, I'm about a week over in terms of vertical menasurement (is it called fundal measurement?).

Bodkin, picking cherries in the sunshine sounds fab!!! Oh, wow, I'd love to be doing that today. The last few days I've also had period like cramps and they were almost coming quite regularly as well, but then they just died down. I wouldn't say mine were painful, more uncomfortable. I'm hoping its just our bodies getting ready for the big push.

Hey theheadgirl not exactly moved onto here I never left when I MCd, couldn?t bear to leave but now I?m legit again sorry I?ve not popped in to say hello, hope all is good with you? How is the weight loss going? I started the Clexane on Monday. I was actually taught how to inject it by a lovely nurse in Oncology of all places! It is not as bad as I thought it would be but I hate the stinging feeling when the meds go in! DH is teasing me saying that when I drink water he expects little fountains to spurt out of my tummy. So far so good. I believe there are two possible allergic reactions, one being visual with sores and rashes etc around the injection site and the other (HITS I think) which can be seen in your blood count. Hopefully I?m doing ok. I go back for blood tests on Monday to see what the first week has been like Thank you for thinking of me!! At the mo its easy to find suitable fatty tissue I?ll be asking you to help me find good sites once I have a bump and the fat gets harder to pinch and inch with (unless it sits on top of the bump?!)

Firsty I?m liking the sound of this smooth bump! Chooster has a fabulous bump, I was over it at lunch today! You do have a good memory, my folks do live there hope you are ok good luck tomorrow at MW.

Bodkin ? I have been guilty for looking at bumps before faces walking down the street but only cos I want one love cherries, can I join your picnic?

So so sorry I have been awol (yet again!). Been so busy with works going on in house, appointments and dc's seem to have had a month of constant activities for me to organise, chauffer etc that I haven't had a mo to myself and when I have I have collasped to bed! Then got a stinker of a cold over the last 10 days or so and have been struggling more than a bit to be honest when normally I just push on through it..... but other than all that I am great and only .... wait for it..... 26 DAYS TO GO!!!!
How are you all ? Hope everyone is well and blooming. Really don't think I could manage to catch up where I left off so can anyone fill me in on anything I need to know.
Had a wee shifty at last few posts and can see MrsMcJ you are an official graduate - I am so so so so pleased for you and have absolutely everything thing crossed that this pg goes by like a dream for you. xxx

wow i have a lot to catch up on and im sooo sleep ZZZzzzzzzz

forgive me if i miss anyone out i have just quickly skim read and going to try and type from memory so i can go for an afternoon nap!

im feeling so tired!, i woke up in a panic this morning as my (o)(o) were nolonger sore have been worried all morning but i can feel the tingly bruised feeling coming back i keep touching them to see lol

seaside + mrsmcjnr - have you got any symptoms yet?

at work today i had to pee 4 times in 6 hours and all i had to drink was 1 cup of tea

firststar - dont be sad about other peoples insensitive comments, i had never thought how comments like that affected the pg people but being on here has opened my eyes i must have been guilty in the past of thowing a few of them comments my friends way! most of the time people say it just purely for somthing to say and to awknowledge your bump i dont think its meant in an insulting way. next time if someone is saying it offensive ie family just say well "look at the size of your belly and your not even pregnant" and just pass it off as a joke thatl soon shut them up!!

bodkin - your baileys drink sounds mmmmmm im so you are having a tipple with the adult drinks! i will not be touching that stuff until im out of the danger zone but im putting your drink at the top of my list to try first!!

mrsmcjnr - i always wondered that about bumps too and hoped the answer would be that bump sort of stretched out the love handles! i hope it does other wise im going to look like a deformed pg woman with 3 bumps with the size of my handles at the moment! i so wanted to shed a few pounds but im not complaining rather have bfp anyday! if you are moving to spain are you going to bring baby up to talk spanish and english?

well i started writing this post at 2 and my neighboiur has just been round in tears as she is splitting up from her dh

ive lost my train of thought now and my precious afternoon nap! dp is taking me out to dinner tonight hope you all have a good evening and are enjoying this lurvely sunshine!!

Hey Iwillbe I keep remembering that photo of you and DP and the smiles on your faces now that you are pg again! I really am so delighted for you! My symptoms come and go, sometimes my boobs are really tender, other days I?m more exhausted than others, some days I feel a bit sick (or like I have a terrible hangover ? that was Sunday), others not ? the constants are needing to pee lots, being very thirsty and hungry (especially in the morning) and greasy hair I normally have quite dry hair but I?m having to wash it everyday at the mo. You need to drink more hon lots of water!! we do hope to bring up our DC bi-lingual yes have a lovely dinner tonight ? watch what you eat!!

mrsmcjnr - aww i love that photo its my screen saver on our pc. it really reassures me that your symptoms are coming and going too i just panic so much which is probably doing me more harm than good. i am getting a random hunger/sicky feeling where i will be fine one minute and then i it just burns in my stomach and if i smell anything dodgy i reach! my constants are weeing and drinking and exhaustion. im averaging a wee every 90 minutes !! i hate to think what its going to be like when the baby grows and presses on my bladder - il be incontinent!!
thats lovely that you are bringing your children up bi-lingual. dp wants to do that with oursbut i think its going to be tricky as i cant speak/understand a word and he speaks it fluently but also i think to learn the lingo properly you need to be living in the country.

am i right in thinking you are still going to scottish slimmers?

Just got back from docs- he was very sweet and happy for us but quite realistic about risks etc so sort of said - great -at least you can get pregnant naturally - see you after your 12 week scan if you get that far- Oh and pick up a maternity pack on your way out! So that's that then - got to ring the midwife team - but am sure they will not want to see me until 12 weeks either - oh it seems so far away!

Still toying with the 8 week private scan idea if we are up in London - I have worked out we will def be there for work weeks 11-12 so am seriously considering having 12 week scan then anyway at Fetal Medicine Centre as I have just read up about what I will be offered and here they will do not ds testing until 20 weeks? would just like to hopefully have my mind put at rest before then.

MrsMcJnr & Iwillbe -sympton spotting and comparison:
I feel so not "pregnant" IYKWIM - I thought I would feel diff - naive I know - I still have sore boobs that come and go (don't look any bigger yet!), bit of dizziness and slightly more frequent weeing though not massively so and that's it !! actually I am so glad you mentioned greasy hair MrsMc - I was wondering why I look like an oil slick and I only washed it yesterday - usually wash every other day and it is fine?? I am eating more but that is a conscious thing I think. Still got mild thrush but seems to be improving (and yes greedy the yogurt is well messy - bleurghhh!)

firststar Everyone carries their bumps differently though don't they? I am sure I am going to look ridiculous if I get that far - I am a weedy beanpole (not by choice or lack of trying - sorry - I like being tall but I would much rather be well built ) I have visions of looking like some kind of snake that has swallowed a rabbit? and people will make nasty comments about me being too thin (they do now already and it seems if you get pg the world seems to think it is their business to tell you how to live!)

honeyapple Are you doing yoga now? I have been to 2 yoga classes this week - advice has been that it is fine as I have been going 3x a week for the last year but I must avoid back bends and twists and must do forward bends with a bolster? Would really miss it if I did not go and am hoping it will really help - apparently my hips are very open which is good

Seaside - I'm sorry, I don't know your background, but I take it this conception has not been an easy ride ('scuse the phrase!)? I did lurk on The Hut of Gloom a couple of times when it first started, there were a few people in there that I remember from my TTC days. Sounds like your Doc is very matter-of-fact! Good idea to have a private scan if it will put your minds at rest (although I still have days where i panic that everything is alright at 32 weeks!)

Hi PinkButterfly - good grief you are counting in terms of days now! Sounds like you've been having a busy time of it. Everyone always says, ooh, you should be getting your rest, but, well sometimes it is just not an option is it!

Chooster and Firsty, these crampy pains sound normal then if you guys have had them too. Like you say, probably just ligaments, but when i had them in the middle of the night it really reminded me of what contractions felt like....(I think i had forgotton!)

Iwillbe - Don't worry, i am not really on the Baileys everynight! but I have been much more relaxed about the rules of what to eat and drink with this pg (my 2nd)

Bodkin, so I'm not the only one who still worries. I panic that something will go wrong even now. I mentioned maybe having a 4D scan to my DH the other day, just so we could see if everything was OK. He made a good point though in that what happens if I have another worry the following week. I can't keep having scans . Anyway, I think I'm getting too late for a non-medical scan.

Oh, its so good to get some chatty new blood on this thread - I remember sideways from my ttc days - I hope she comes over as well, then that will loads of you due in January.

well then.............i am back from my scan!................not sure who remembers (actually i know some of you do!), but my dh and i had sex a full 5 days before i ovulated according to my temp rise, so according to all the theories about girl sperms lasting for days and boy sperms dying after 24 hrs i should definately be having a girl!....................well................i am! how boring and predictable hey?

when i asked the sonographer to tell me and not dh he suddenly said " well if you are really going to find out then i want to know too!" so we both know! at least i dont have to try and hide it from him!

now i know this sounds daft but i cried when i found out we are having another girl. its not that i dont want a girl and its really hard to explain why i cried but i just kept thinking of the negatives. Like what if she is prettier than my first dd and they get compared all the time, or what if my ds is special cos hes our firstborn and hes our only boy, and new baby is special cos shes the baby of the family and my dd1 gets overlooked cos shes just in the middle, or what if my ds gets left out cos he's the only boy.

i know it all sounds stupid, but i think if i had found out we were having a boy i would have felt exactly the same, like wont dd get left out being the only girl etc.

i am so glad we have found out the sex now cos i feel like i have got over all those initial silly feelings and i can now get excited about having another little pink babe! i would have hated giving birth and then having any of these feelings!

sorry, i really do think i have proved what a weirdo i am tonight! i just had to share all my feelings that i know i shouldn't have been having.

oh my god! just reread my post and i sounded so negative and ungrateful. especially when i said " how boring and predictable, hey" that was meant to be funny by the way, but it didn't come accross like that did it?

Iwillbe - carvery yum, hmmmm roast beef! Hope you are enjoying it. I find myself panicking too, I?ve also just noticed that my temps are doing the same as they did last time and that makes me scared too yup, still at SS and plan to continue. Been back 2 weeks now, the first week I lost 2.5 and then last week, I put on 1 but I?d gone on Weds night instead of Sat am so hopefully it?ll balance out this week. I apparently should just try and stay the same and not lose or gain.

Hey Seaside it is hard the way GPs are so detached, I do understand. I felt quite abandoned last time but I suppose in the cold hard light of day, they cannot spend resources on us before the 12 week scan at least you won?t be poked and prodded before then! I believe that if a scan makes you feel better, go for it I don?t ?feel? pg either but I know I feel a damn sight better than last time generally so that has got to be a good thing. Thanks for your thoughts for me. Mia is one of my favourite baby names by the way. Ohhh lovely news about Sideways I?ll try and find her!

Greedy ? glad you found Conkertree and that she?s fine that?s LOVELY news Greedy sounds like the pregnancy emotions are playing with you, your DC are gorgeous, this one will also be gorgeous and how proud is that big bro going to be of his 2 little sisters and how lucky are they to have a big bro to protect them and bring hunky mates home! was everything else ok? I really feel a part of your pregnancy I remember so well when we both got our BFPs and how exciting it was. Don?t get me wrong, I am excited now but not as liberally so now.

Greedy - you're having those thoughts - I'm having the complete opposite that I'm worried about having a boy. I know I should be so grateful all is healthy, but I'm really scared about having a boy. Please keep telling me how lovely they are. all the boys I know, just seem to scream and behave badly - whereas DD has never benn much of a screamer - thank goodness (although she has her moments, when she's tired!!). But I'm biased to her, I suppose and she doesn't sleep and is quite hyperactive, while this little one is definitely calmer in me than she was, so maybe I'll have a dream boy as well!! I think I've bottled everything up so much as I am so scared of losing this baby, that I've gone overboard - must see some newborn babies - my bestfriend is due on 11th June - so can't wait to cuddle him/her and remember what it is like!!!

Anyway, Greeds - so happy that everything is ok for you.

Very very pleased for you Greedy!! You are never too honest, dont worry - it always comes across as intended.

I think its perfectly natural to have a good think about how you feel when you find out the sex of your baby before you give birth. I know I felt a little deflated when I heard this LO was another boy, just because I know this will be our last (well, I think it will be) and if so it means I'll never have a daughter. COnsidering what we went through to even find out if the baby would make it and was healthy, I was really surpised at my reaction. It didn't last long - maybe a day and now of course I'm over the moon its another little boy. (Boys are FAB - honest Fettle )

I personally think finding out the sex is a good thing, especially if its not your first, but it does give you almost too much time of analyse it. If you hadn't found out and had just given birth to your beautiful little girl then I doubt you'd have any of these thoughts... She'd just be there in all her glory !!!!

More than anything very glad the LO is healthy.

Great to hear all is well with you Greedy - and your worries about having another girl sound perfectly healthy. I agree with Chooster that if you find out early then you have time and space to analyse, whereas if you wait until they are born, you are so out of it on hormones and gas and air you'd be thrilled if you gave birth to an orangutang! And as for being too honest, I would be gutted if you stopped being the Greedy we all know and love
