Yes, DH did have nice lie-in today... I dropped DS at nursery .

The iron tablets are really kicking in and I feel SO much better - its actually making me realise how bad I was feeling before in terms of having no energy and concentration. If only I'd been taking them earlier then I'd have got so much more done at work before leaving

chooster - enjoy your last couple of days at work! i am going to check out your july thread again! it always makes me cry when someone pops! not sure what i will be like when you lot pop!

my friend had her baby boy at 4am this morning! i cant wait to visit, but think i will leave it a week or so first.

my dd has just stripped herself naked and announced that she is going swimming!!! not sure where, but she seems to think she is going! she is cracking me up today! shes on really good form! its quite nice when ds is at nursery and i get to spend time with her! (she says whilst on MN!!!)

i cant believe stupid old dawn from eastenders said she was going to call her baby summer! i feel like they were real signs yesterday warning me not to call our baby Autumn. oh well still got 14 wks to change my mind a million more times! dh is stuck on Raya, but the more he says it, the more i go off it!

hello seaside! i was wondering where you had got to! cant believe you are 9 wks already! these pregnancies fly by when its someone else!

my dd has just asked for her 'pink bunny' (cuddly toy whose nose she chews and can't sleep without).........how do i tell her its in the washing machine!!!???

Congrats to your friend Greedy!!! Great news...

No plans yet for my first monday off - just some relaxing I think.

fettleandminifettle · 20/06/2007 20:40

Great news about your friend Greedy - feels like that was a long labour though, or have all my days rolled into one?!!!

Well, we had a pretty awful journey, 10 hours instead of 7!! Shed load of bricks on M6 meant we did 20 miles in 2 hours!!. DD was such a fantastic little girl as usual - she amazes me more and more with her good temper. We left this morning shortly after 9am, so she'd really only got up, had breakfast, helped pack the car, got in the car for 3 hours, stopped for 45 mins lunch, then in car for 4 hours (through traffic jam), stopped for 20 mins, then in car for further 90mins until we finally home. Then she had 30 mins in the playpark and has just gone to bed without a whimper!! I love her!

i don't love our car - I think the weather must have been pretty awful down here while we were away, but the car's central locking has fused! More Sh*t that I just haven't the energy to sort out while DH is away - thank goodness my dad is here, to help a bit. hopefully the garage will be able to sort it easily - just hope it will drive there tomorrow!! But I don't really like the thought of having DD in the car, when the back doors don't unlock or open - am I just being a bit silly.

Anyway, this is all me me me (at least it gives me something other than my pelvis to moan about!). Just want to burst into tears and disappear under my duvet and not come out - not good is it?! Sure I'll be a very happy bunny again once I've got the car in the garage and I've got back into the swing of work!

Hope everyone else is better than me!!

take care all

Not silly at all about the locks on the car Fettle.

Wow, you DD is amazing!!! My DS would have started whingeing after 2 hours I'm sure. Thats how far my parents live away from me and he gets more and more fidgety the closer we get.

BabyMadandBIGbump · 21/06/2007 10:15

Hi Ladies!

Last night I started having backache I thought "go to bed and in the morning it'll be gone", twice as bad this morning, what can I take for it? as I could cry about it at times!

Also I dreamt last night that I had a afternoon nap woke up had two really bad pains and then pushed my baby out (half asleep) rang MW she said she is busy but she'll send prof. Robert Winston round to look at my placenta then phoned DH told him all about the baby (he loked the double of my DS#2) and I, he was happy, he said "see you when I get home" and I was fine with that boys come home from school and by this time baby was walking round our coffee table . These dream we have when PG really are f&^(% up! But on the other hand it seemed so real I had the "new mum feeling" and I was so very proud of myself and I felt like supper mum (not needing anyone at the birth and was more than fine afterwards). But enough about that, How is everyone today?

Thnaks will try that, also started feeling really sick so off for a walk soon and when I get back I'll try and take some pain killers and have a lie down I think! How are you?

stick with excitement firsty! much better than paincking!

babymad, i would agree with firsty - if it feels like a tight achey muscle then use a hot pack, but if it feels like you might have strained it then preferably use a cold pack. hard to tell i know, but if one aggravates it, then try the other!!

fettle - glad to hear your dd was a superstar for you yesterday! my dc were both gorgeous yesterday too! we went to a friends house and there were 2 mums (at their wits end) and 4 other kids there. all they did was whinge and cry and hit and punch and my two were absolute angels! ended up feeling guilty for my two being so well behaved, they both kept saying "oh my god i dont know how you could even consider having another one, ou must be mad" and i ws just thinking 'yeah, but my 2 are generally really ggod, if they were like yours then i wouldn't be!!!'......couldn't say that though obviously!!! it did make me really appreciate how gorgeous my two are!

oh well, gotta go and have a wee in my dd's old potty now!............yes thats right! the builders have turned the water off and told me i cant use the toilet for a few hours!............normally not too much of a problem, but at the moment there is no way i can last for more than about 2 hours without needing a wee, so i am off to try out the potty! hope they dont spot me through the window!!

greedygreedyguzzler · 21/06/2007 14:05

what an odd message! loads of typos and some weird apostrophe thing going on!
really am going to piss my pants now!

Evening all!

Much happier this evening! Car only cost £45 to mend, loose connection on battery apparently - DH would probably have been able to mend it himself, but nevermind! To find the sunvisor sucker that we lost down the rear electric window, will cost £100 labour to retrieve!!!. not sure that worth it -why are garages so expensive?! Think I'll take it to the independent that work uses for their company cars, as we get a labour discount there, so it will be cheaper - just so annoyed that we got it stuck down there in the first place!!

Bit overstressed in work this morning, thinking why did I take any time off - but much calmer now, but i'll have to do some work this evening. Our departmental administrator quit with immediate effect this afternoon, which wasn't really a shock, but we did expect her to work her notice, so we're now stuck overworked and even more understaffed!!! Can't wait for my mat leave to start to leave this mad-house!!

anyway, Greedy - i hope the wee was satisfactory and undectected!!!

Babymad, I hope you are feeling a bit better - backache can be a sign of early labour, so be watchful - you've had children before though haven't you, so I'm probably telling you things you already know!

I'm terrified I won't know when I have to go to the hospital as I was induced last time, so was already in hospital andunder control the whole time. HAve to say had that sudden "Oh Shit, this baby has to come out somehow" thought a couple of days ago!!!! Joining you in the panicking front, Firsty!!!

Thanks for your compliments of DD - I think I'm biased, but it's partly why I'm so worried about having a boy, as I think they are slightly more full of adventure than girls - but maybe my DS will be as good and wonderful as yours sounds Greedy!!!

Anyway, must go bath my DD - take care everyone

Bodkin · 21/06/2007 20:53

Fettle - glad to hear you are back safe and sounds, and your DD sounds like a total star!!! Sorry to hear work is a bit chaotic for you though.

Greedy - I am very impressed with your alternative toilet arrangements - good grief, if I sat down on a child's potty at this stage in the game, a) I would never be able to get up again and b) the potty would concertina under my great weight and end up flat as a pancake!

Really starting to feel shattered by the time it gets to evening now - it reminds me of the first trimester, where the minute i have put DD to bed, I have to have an hour on the sofa myself. Just woken up all cold and confused but a cup of tea and a few biccies later and I'll be right as rain.

Kitchen coming on ok - new floor is down and looks gorgeous, and plumber was here for 3 hours trying to get the sink unit plumbed in. He took ages to finally get it level, and then we realised that the little legs it was standing on were just for packing purposes, and should have come off So now he is coming back in the morning to start all over again....

Can't believe that about another July-er dropping already! Am very grateful that I don't seem to be showing any signs of giving birth just yet.... far too much to get done still!

well, feel like i am in labour tonight!!! loads of stomach tightenings and pain! obviously i'm not, but SOMETHING is happening inside my uterus at the mo! i think maybe they are sympathy pains after watching dawn give birth on eastenders! always makes me cry when someone gives birth on the TV!

well...........i rushed upstairs to go on my dds potty and couldn't find it anywhere!!! she never really used it, just went straight on the toilet, but i was sure it was around somewhere! dh has informed me tonight it is in his office!!! (not sure why!!) anyway................had to think of an alternative plan quickly................so grabbed one of her night time nappies and used that!!! a VERY strange experience i have to say! worst part was the warm feeling in my hand as i held it in place!

sorry..........just had to share!!

fettleandminifettle · 21/06/2007 22:17

Hey Greeds - we're definitely have some sort of connection greedy!- I'm having very weird but strong contraction type pains too!!! thought labour on Eastenders was more realistic than some! How scary is that Stella though?!!

Hope we don't give birth overnight - still a bit early I think!!

Thanks for sharing re the nappy - not sure I even want to feel that sensation, but it made me laugh in between mini-(but very painful!)contractions!!

sleep well everyone.
xxx

greedygreedyguzzler · 21/06/2007 22:22

fettle - how weird if we both gave birth overnight!! not ideal though hey! wonder if it was something to do with watching eastenders and everything seeming a bit too real! i could feel her pain! although it was still a bit quick wasn't it!!

my friend who had her baby boy yesterday has had some problems. apparently he has some bowel problem (not sure what) and has been transferred to Great Ormond Street. i really feel for her. she doesn't have much luck with newborns. her dd got her clavicle broken when she was delivered too.

fettleandminifettle · 21/06/2007 22:30

Oh Greedy that not good for your poor friend. Having babies is so very hard.

Finally received a text message from my friend tonight, she's been worried by the hospital as her little DD has been losing weight over the last week. I've reminded her that they always worry about weight particularly with breast fed babies, but it's still very worrying for her.

My contractions have calmed a bit now, probably knowing you're going through it too!!!

Be just my luck to go into Labour while DH is away!

Hi all.

Greedy and Fettle - hope things work themselves out for your friends' LO's - the worry doesn't stop when you give birth does it

Greedy - pmsl at your emergency toilet arrangements. I seem to be gettting through about a looroll a day at the mo, the amount of times I need a wee! Just waiting for the drains to get blocked now, oh joy!

Well after my "I feel like superwoman" quote the other day, I have been feeling pretty pants the last couple of days. Breathless, a bit giddy and no energy at all. So have self diagnosed that I might need a bit more iron and have bought a supplement from chemist, until I see MW next.

Firsty - no signs that labour is anywhere near! I seem to remember losing my mucous plug about 2 weeks before I went in to labour with DD, but no sign of it yet.
