Morning- i couldnt get on PG pages either last night- must have been something wrong with MN.

Chooster- good to hear you have got some iron tablets, hope you feel better soon.

Greedy- I think dinosaurs would be fine for either a boy or a girl. I'm not really into the whole pink/blue thing really- and TBH I dont think your baby will not what they are for a LONG time! Babies are actually best at seeing black and white images when they are little.

My DD is really driving me mad at the moment. She is being really difficult all the time about everything, nothing seems to be easy at the moment. And she keeps screaming and having tantrums. I think this has only been going on for a few months, so I'm wondering if it is to do with me being PG, also possibly about going to school in September. I dunno, but it's really getting me down. She just won't do anything I ask her to do, and seems to be doing things just to wind me up. I'm finding it very difficult to remain calm at the moment. Usually she has always been a pretty good and helpful person.

Bodders- BTW that brushing teeth thing you mentioned a while ago about cleaning the house has worked a treat on her though! Thanks!

Will be away this weekend so have a good time everyone, good luck again PinkB.

xx

Honeyapple - How old is DD - I can't remember but I thought she was 4-ish? I really hope it gets better soon, cos it really does get you down doesn't it. And there's only so many times you can ignore / walk away from a tantrum-ridden toddler. You have my sympathies...

Firststar - Yes, I was definately in the right place for it to happen, and the mid-wife was great. Its actually quite funny looking back as I was concentrating so much on the "hold your breath then breathe out" bit I didn't realise I was losing it . I think my results were quite borderline which is probably why they didn't contact me, I guess it must have got worse over the last few weeks.

Yes very comfy!!!

Have you seen another july lady has popped - Auntymandy apparently - her birth story is on the announcement bit, so will take a look. Eek, its all seeming a bit close.

Blimey - another one has popped?! Will look at that in a mo....

Chooster, that is soooo annoying about the anaemia - and here you were suffering all along, and us lot just going, sheesh, your preggers, get over it [sheepish]...sorry! Hope you start to feel better soon.

Seaside - Oi - I'm having that paper in my baby's room Only joking - I did fantasise about it for a while, but in the end realised that I wouldn't have enough time or energy to do wallpapering as well, so have just slapped some paint on the walls. It is a bit gorgeous though isn't it! Maybe I'll by some material of it and make cushions and bunting though.....

Honeyapple - glad to hear my eccentric parenting methods are doing the trick! It is hard when they are being uncooperative though isn't it... I think my DD seems to want to be babied a bit at the mo - I suppose because I keep saying, "come on, let's be a big grown up girl now", so am indulging her a bit and pretending to change her nappy etc., which she finds hilarious...

Fettle - I agree with everyone else not to worry too much about lying on your back at this stage in the pg. Fingers crossed there is no infection, and glad to hear your appointment was ok otherwise. Hope you have a lovely trip this weekend

Firsty - still 3 more weeks to go til maternity leave?! You poor thing! It'll be here soon enough though. How long does that leave you before you are due?

Well I am in a right tizz today over my Tax Credits, as have totally underestimated how much me and DP earnt last year, so now I expect I owe them loads.... It is such a shite system for self-employed people. I don't think I'll bother with them any more, that hassle is just not worth it!

Well done for all that house tidying babymad - ours is a pit at the moment . Tidying and cleaning is top of the lost once mat leave starts and DH is off.

No need to feel sheepish Bodders - I wasn't ill or anything just tired... Hoping the tablets will help and I'll be feeling much more energetic - DH wont know whats hit him!!! [GRIN]

Anyway am working at home today and starving - only supernoodles in though... Mmmm, doesn't sound very 'balanced diet' does it.

Chooster- yes, DD is 4.5 yrs old... and becoming way too opinionated for her own good. She is just totally ignoring anything I say at the moment. Oh well, hopefully she snaps out of it soon.

Bodders- dont worry about the tax credits, that happened to us, so they just didnt give me any money for a year... and then the next year they took money off what we were intitled to until the debt was cleared. I'm sure it will happen again this year too.

I'm starving! Been waiting for plasterer to finish before I can get some lunch... mmmm, super noodles...

Chooster · 15/06/2007 15:08

Blleuugh - supernoodles - I had them but not that enjoyable. DH just came in a mysteriously found a packet of sausages that I certianly didn't see earlier. So, have had a sausage sandwich as well!!

Hope you haven't gone home Firsty

wow! i cant resist having a look at the july ladies popping either and i dont even know them!!

when you write it down in days babymad, it seems so close! not going to work mine out in days yet cos it will depress me!!!

fettle - if we are going for the same day, can we do sept 24th please? i have been looking at MORE names today and have decided on AUTUMN! i have to persuade dh, but i (think) i am decided! and the autumn equinox is sept 24th apparently so i thought that would be a good birthday!!!

this site is very good for names by the way.....................

greedygreedyguzzler · 15/06/2007 17:24

............here it is

greedygreedyguzzler · 15/06/2007 17:27

you cant tell me you dont like the name Autumn by the way! if you dont like it, just pretend you do!!

Bodkin · 15/06/2007 17:45

Ooh, Greedy, I like Autumn.... especially if she has the same lovely auburn hair like your DD1 - that would be so gorgeous.

Honeyapple - the thing is with the tax credits, is that I don't think we will be entitled to any this year as DPs business is going really well, so we'll probably earn too much to qualify - which sounds great in theory, but we don't seem that much better off. Luckily, I stashed about £500 of the last few months payments they made as I realised I had cocked up, but still think I'll owe a fair bit more.

Chooster - Supernoodles were my fantasy food in the first trimester, and i did give in a couple of times to the old Pot Noodle as well - what on earth could the baby be needing in that - salt? monosodium glutomate? small pieces of dried red pepper?!!! No desire for a pot noodle now

Just had an exhausting afternoon with my 2 friends and their DDs. Between the 4 kids that were here, every single one of them took their turn at throwing the most outrageous tantrums! My DD hurled herself across the room at one friends DD screaming like a banshee - i thought she was going to bite her arm off (luckily she didn't), so she was swiftly despatched to her bedroom. That's the last time I organise a play date on a Friday afternoon.....

fettleandminifettle · 15/06/2007 19:07

Hi All

You've ruined my faith in DH and how he can fix everything - must have just been the timing when he "fixed" it for me and the website sorted out its problems!!

Anyway, still missing him like crazy at the moment - not helped that I've just had a crap e-mail from our estate agent who's being really grumpy over something which is entirely their fault - we asked for some work to be done on the house we bought last december in return for upping our offer. He agreed verbally and I sent an e-mail to confirm it - he's denying that he's ever received that e-mail and never told the vendors, so the work was never done when we completed and now he is dragging his feet still - sent a really agressive e-mail to us, after DH sent one to him asking him to sort it all out and expressing our disappointment. AAARRRRGGHHHH!!! Can feel my low blood pressure rising!!! Must be calm!! Was in a great mood other than that, as looking forward to being "mummied" over teh weekend!

Anyway, sorry got it off my chest - just think we'll boycott the agents and do it ourselves.

Must get DD is bed, so I'll be back later.

Greedy - Autumn is lovely name. Bit unusual for staid me, but beautiful!

Chooster - enjoy the iron tablets, they made me feel great, but my digestive system suffered somewhat!! Also sorry to be missing you, although we won't arrive until later on Saturday - flying up at lunchtime tomorrow to Glasgow, as flight times better for DD!

back later
xxx

Chooster · 15/06/2007 19:21

Ggrrrr - rubbish estate agent Fettle - Especially you had bothered to send the confirmation e-mail. When is DH back? Enjoy the weekend away at your mums - sounds fab!!!

Hey Bodkin - Wow, so you and DH both have your own businesses! I hadn't realised that - very entrepreneurial . Hope the tax credit bill is lower than you think. Mmm, I know super-noodled / pot-noodles - what on earth can be good about those for a craving.

Love Autumn Greedy - i think its a fab name especially of it goes well with the surname. Great choice - do you think DH will go for it?

Firsty - no I dont think he hid the sausages on purpose - I just couldn't see them

Fettle do you need to take iron tabs with big food? I've been feeling a little sick on them...

greedygreedyguzzler · 15/06/2007 19:41

meant to say to you chooster, sorry about you and your iron situation. lets hope you dont get too constipated!

my dh is CONSIDERING autumn! i will have to work my magic on him and see if i can persuade him!

greedygreedyguzzler · 15/06/2007 19:48

oh yes and fettle - AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGHHHHHH about the stupid estate agent hey! they are almost as bad as builders!!!

fettleandminifettle · 15/06/2007 20:08

Hi All

Can't get chatting DD to go to sleep - bit overexcited about her plane journey tomorrow, I think!

thanks for support on agent -just ranted at my sister over phone and feel much calmer, just going to ignore his rudeness and finish my packing!

Chooster, I can't remember what it said about food - just not to take with milk or egg products, I seem to remember - better absorption if you take with vit C, so orange juice is good. They did make me feel a bit sick, but they didn't make me constipated - just worsened the opposite in me! be warned - don't be shocked by the colour of your waste, shall we say - should you happen to see them!! Very black, almost green! But it's worth it for the energy you'll get back! I found they worked within a few days!

BTW, must be something addictive in pot noodles - I haven't had them for ages, but had a sudden craving for one a couple of weeks ago!! Managed to put it off, but you lot talking of them, has put it back at the front of my mind - maybe while DH is away, he wouldn't approve!!!

Feeling a bit emotional tonight and just wanted to say thank you to you all for being so supportive - feels weird as we don't actually know eachother, but i really look forward to chatting to you all on here and hearing how you are all doing. Hope you all have a good weekend and if I don't manage to get on the internet while I'm away, I'll speak to you soon.

lol

Evening-

Greedy- I love Autumn. It's funny though, I just wrote it, and had to check I had spelt it right... one of those words that looks a bit odd when you write it, IYKWIM? (sorry- that wasnt meant to sound negative on your name choice!)

Dp has got a boy's name that he is totally convinced by, I'm not so sure... will let you know what it is next week, if we are having a boy. DD has decided that if LO is a girl it should be Bluebell, Rosie or Lola! I actually like all of these, so she might get her way.

Well the plasterers have finished, and now just waiting till wednesday for the decorators. Also on monday I've got someone finally laying the bathroom floor.

I sometimes have a craving for something like a pot noodle- but the reality never lives upto the expectation!

Fettle- have you got that email to your estate agents lurking in your sent mail?
