Aww, Fettle, you've set me off now.... I totally agree with you, I love our thread and everyone on it and it has really helped to share the highs and lows of this pg. And boooooo, hisssssss to your estate agent. The really annoying thing is how much they get paid to be so completely useless - more than the lawyers that actually do all the important stuff !!!!

Chooster, hope you feel a bit more sprightly soon - there have been a few threads on here about iron tablets that I've seen, so might be some advice on those. You'll need all your energy once you get on maternity leave and the nesting instinct kicks in, and suddenly, it feels like every part of your house needs cleaning (or am I the only one who felt the need to clean all the grease off the cooker hood today - I get it BAAAAAD)!

Can I also just share my favourite pregnancy moment so far that I had today.... DP took DD out to the beach for an hour after her tea, so I took the opportunity to have a long soak in a very deep bath. Halfway through, was suddenly starving, but didn't want to finish the bath, so ran downstairs dripping to find some snacks. Could only find a packet of cheese and onion Pom-bear crisps (The teddy bear shaped snack!) so got back in the bath and ate those, with my huge belly poking up out through the bubbles. Not exactly the Flake advert is it

honeyapple · 15/06/2007 20:25

Mmmmm, I do like a teddy bear crisp ... hope they didnt get soggy in the bath though!

I agree, (crossed posts with fettle) this is a lovely thread. I also look forward to hearing what you all have been up to. Sharing the highs and lows.

Bodkin · 15/06/2007 20:27

Hi Honeyapple - I LOVE those girl's names! Was it with you that I was chatting about whether Lola was too popular or not? I still like it though. In fact, I think Lola and Bluebell go really well together. I'm still struggling with girl's names - loads that I really like but still haven't found "the one". Guess I'll have to wait and see what she (if she is a she) looks like....

Bodkin · 15/06/2007 20:28

A couple of them did go overboard, I'm afraid... (still ate 'em though )

honeyapple · 15/06/2007 20:31

Yup it was! I mentioned about Sara Cox... I know that Lola is more common at the moment than it was say 5 yrs ago, but I still dont think it is the top 100. DD thought of bluebell when we went for a walk and there was a lovely bluebell wood and we all thought how beautiful it was, and so she said then that we should call the baby Bluebell. Unfortunatley Gerry halliwell's daughter is Bluebell. Grrrr!!

fettleandminifettle · 15/06/2007 20:31

Not exactly a flake adver, but sounds great all the same, Bodders!!! There is something special about eating in the bath!!

Hey-up, just caught the end of eastenders, what on earth is going on there?! Anyone fill me in on the baby triangle story, with the mad, drug-addict doctor?

xxx

Honey, still have a copy of the original e-mail, but he's clearly forgotten we've got it, or at least is making out we've said that we don't have a copy (ie we didn't send it to him in the first place, but he's lying - sent it twice in the last few months, just to remind him). Realised he sent e-mail at 11pm last night, so I think he sent it in haste - not worth the energy stressing about it now, I'm thinking! Feeling much calmer about it all now -just going to live with it, it's not the end of the world and staying calm for baby is best option!

Bodkin · 15/06/2007 20:34

Tsk, these bloody celebs, nicking all the best names eh? Mind you, can't see Geri Halliwell being around in 5 years, so I think it would be safe to use it!

Sorry Fettle, don't follow the 'enders, so no idea I'm afraid.

fettleandminifettle · 15/06/2007 20:35

lots of crossed posts - all those girls names are lovely! Although I can't think Lola, without Charlie being attached to the front!

DD has already chosen names for our little one: Calum Thomas. not too bad I suppose, but not what we're thinking of!

Why are boys names so much harder to think of, or is it just us? They are either too wacky or just dull, or I went to school with one and I didn't like them!!!

honeyapple · 15/06/2007 21:06

Whoops- Sorry- Geri- I made her into a man didnt I?

Fettle- I do agree with you about boys name being either boring or whacky! The one DP has his heart on is certainly a bit whacky- I don't think it is even a proper name- more of a nickname... However I like nearly all old testament boys names...

greedygreedyguzzler · 16/06/2007 10:24

fettle - not quite sure what is going on in eastenders either!!! rob shagged whatsherface the other day though......did you see that episode? looks like it is going to get exciting!

honeyapple - you should look at that link that i posted........................................rosie no. 132 in 2007, 150 in 2006 so getting MORE popular
...........Bluebell no. 3556 in 2007, 4285 in 2006, so getting MORE popular, but still VERY unusual (and gorgeous in my opinion!!!)................lola no. 125 in 2007 and 138 in 2006 so gettin LESS popular!!

its a good site!!!

bodders! - my ds starting quoting from that pom bear advert yesterday! we have always called them teddy bear crisps and he suddenly started asking for pom bears! i didnt have a clue what he was on about and then he told me thats what the TV told him they were called! do you think he watches too much tv?

i have got a funny story involving a missing pantyliner that i should really share with you all, but i dont have time now cos i have a patient due at 10.30! lets just say it involves a pantyliner (God i hate that word!) with spots of blood on it (yes, i am still spotting!) and it disappearing somewhere and me in a mad panic trying to find it before our cleaner turned up yesterday and found it for me! sounds a bit funny when i think about it now, but i was an emotional wreck yesterday and i couldn't stop crying about my missing pantyliner mystery!

greedygreedyguzzler · 16/06/2007 10:26

that sounded like the cleaner found it, and she didnt but i was worried she would! actually she might have done, cos i never found it!

I know - what a freaky 'enders story line. Mad May is away with the fairies isn't she! And I've got to say they could at least try to make Dawn's bump look a bit bigger. I mean she's due to give birth any time soon - and I definately don't look like that . At least shove another cushion up there.

I love all those names - Lola is probably my favourite I think. I totally agree on boys names. I think with girls names it's more 'OK' to be a bit unique with them, but when I think of wierd boys names I just can't imagine a man using the name. Having said that, is there any opinion on Theo? Can't remember whether I've asked before or not?

Ah, I know what you mean as well girls - this thread is really fab - I love hearing about all your stoies and seeing what everyone is doing

Greedy - you're pantyliner story had me giggling again about a friend of mine. She came round to my house one night for a night out - she looked fantastic until I watched her walk into my living room and saw a pantyliner stuck to the back of her trousers... Funniest thing I've seen in years .

fettleandminifettle · 16/06/2007 21:31

Hi All

Safely at my Mum's house - tipping it down with rain and we are contemplating putting the coal fire on! Bl**dy freezing!!!! But DD is in cracking form, despite the fact that our flight was delayed 3 hours, so we were at the airport from 9.30am until we boarded at 3pm - she was absolutely brilliant all day. I only had one emotional pg moment, when she wanted to run away and I was desperate to wee. Ijust burst into tears and the poor girl said don't cry Mummy, I'll come with you - felt awful, but I was just so tired, having been up since 630am and carrying quite heavy hand luggage all day - of course had decided to go without the pram as we're trying to wean her off it in time for baby to arrive. Anyway, we're here now - she's only just gone to sleep though, so hopefully she'll sleep in tomorrow!

So let me get this straight - did Rob ever love Dawn or has the whole storyline been about getting this far? Or has Rob re-fallen in love with his soon to be ex-wife. I heard that there was a storyline that they were going to kidnap the baby after it was born, but scrapped that idea, because it was too real for comfort after Madelaine.

Washing panty-liners - done that a few times, Firsty!! Never tempted to reuse them though - although I suppose it goes along the same idea as reusable nappies!!!

I hope you told your friend about the panty-liner, Chooster, or did you let her suffer for longer!! I quite like the name theo! I'm heading towards Freddie, but DH has his heart set on Oliver (Ollie), but with J as our surname initial, I think OJ would be a mean acronym for someone who is highly likely to have ginger hair!!!. Both MIL and GMIL had very very orange hair when younger - DD is taking after me so far, but I'm never very sure about men with very orange hair - girls I think are lovely - does your DS have the same colour hair as your DD, Greeds? What's your opinion on it all?

Anyway, gone on too long as usual, you'll be wishing that Mum's internet doesn't work!!

Evening all

Hope you all have had good weekends. It was just me and DC, so have been over to my mum's on saturday, and then met up with my big sis today. Had a lovely but tiring day in the park. Funny weather though, one minute hot, the next freezing cold. There was the Carter steam fair visiting which was lovely. Although the smell of the diesel engines made me feel a bit queasy. DC both fell asleep in the car on the way home.

Never washed a panty liner (never used one TBH)... but did wash a snail the other day. . Somehow it had crept into a T-shirt of DS's that I found in the garden. Was a bit gross finding bits of snail in my washing.

I'm going to have to start watching Eastenders by the sound of it!...

Just cooked some super noodles... but I'm afraid I couldnt eat them, just didnt cut the mustard, really rather disgusting they were... also, was a bit at the amount of fat in them (23.4g in one packet). Really fancy a bowl of crunchy nut cornflakes but we only have a tiny bit of milk, and need that for DC in the morning.

Chooster · 17/06/2007 20:18

Uuurgh, a snail in the washing machine - that must have been a bit grim. Don't envy you the clean up operation after that.

Your weekend sounds good honeyapple - and nice that DC were worn out. I so know what you mean about super-noodles - I was pretty disppointed with mine as well - still ate them though

Good to hear from you even though you are away from home Fettle. You're right the weather was dire up here yesterday, but hopefully today has been better for you in St Andrews too - it's been pretty good here in Edinburgh.

I think Rob did genuinely go for Dawn in 'enders, as that May does seem to be off her rocker - but then he went back to her - dont really get that. Anyway, very strange at the moment!

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend. Mine's been good - DH was away most of yesterday and out with friends last night, so I got into bed at 7.30 after DS was in bed and ate some chocolate watching 'The Queen' film. Thank God it was only an hour and half long as I was starting to drift off at 9pm

greedygreedyguzzler · 17/06/2007 20:54

just finished my second bottle of alcohol free beer and i feel a bit tipsy! (i wish!!)

fettle - just as well my ds doesn't have ginger hair or i could be highly offended!! when i was pg with him and people used to ask if i wanted a boy or a girl i always used to say " i dont mind as long as its not ginger!".....anyway he is a little blondie like me! i was really unsure when dd was born about her hair! sounds awful but there is a real stigma attached to having ginger hair isn't there? i know everyone says its ok on girls, but i think you have to be pretty and not have the frizzy type of ginger hair! luckily i think dd is beautiful, and her hair is super thick, wavy and shiny and not at all frizzy! not that i am biased at all!
glad your dd was a star for you! have fun at your mums!

honeyaaple - dotn ever try using pantyliners! they are not worth the hassle! by the way i saw a ritter sport in budgens yesterday and thought of you!!

i have eaten sooooooooooooooo much today! i have been truly living up to my nickname!!! i think its cos i remeasured my bump yesterday and it hasn't grown since i last measured it and i was so pleased that i have been pigging out ever since!!

greedygreedyguzzler · 17/06/2007 21:00

so funny reading my post back that i described myself as a little blondie!!!! at 5ft11" with a 42" waist i am hardly what you would call little!!!!

chooster - your evening last night sounds lovely! thats what i could of done with! instead i went to bed at 9pm to watch tv and told dh to come up at 10pm for some 'hot lovin'!! unfortunately i had fallen asleep by the time he came upstairs......................so the BASTARD woke me up!!!!! didnt really mind! just took me a few mins to get in the mood! had to think of sean from eastenders!!(AGAIN!!) had quite a few painful braxton hicks today though....not sure how related they are to sex, but i think i will have a bit of a break for a while!

greedygreedyguzzler · 17/06/2007 21:01

unless sean comes begging for it!!

honeyapple · 17/06/2007 21:01

Greedy- Tis a tricky thing the old ginger thing! I tend to agree that very pale, freckly and fuzzy ginger isnt the greatest look... but with a boy you could give him a crew cut.

I can't find anything I fancy to eat, and can't be bothered to cook anything either... I want a quick fix, but cupboards are bare .

Just realised that if LO is a boy, then DP's name choice would give him first initials B.J. Is this a real no no?

greedygreedyguzzler · 17/06/2007 21:40

honeyapple! we loved the name bethan but our surname is jones so we decided BJ was a bit cruel. BUT dd and ds's middle names both start with a B, so we have an EBJ and a KBJ! didnt think that was too cruel! i think BJ? would be fine!

fettleandminifettle · 17/06/2007 22:25

Hi All

Honey, we have the same problem with B first names, with the BJ initials - shame as we quite like the name benjamin.

Greedy - I did think long and hard (for about a minute) whether I should bring up my ginger dilemma as I didn't want to offend you, your DS or in fact anyone with ginger hair, but it does seem have a stigma attached - I'm not sure why, all through my childhood, I really wanted to dye my hair copper! As it looked a damn sight nicer than the mousy brown I've been given!!!. But then I also want some waves, curls anything, but the poker straight hair I've got, but everyone I know is very jealous when they ask if I've straightened my hair and I say "No, just combed it!!". Does imply that I tend to go around with unkempt hair, which probably isn't far from the truth!!!

Have to make sure I see Eastenders tomorrow evening, but not going to work and flying up here on a Saturday, I have absolutely no idea what day of the week it is! Feel like I'm skiving work, as there is so much to do, but I should try and relax and enjoy it!

Weather was better today up here, Chooster - spent 2 hours on the beach and even got a bit of sun! DD loved it. Tomorrow we're going swimming and to the aquarium - she's being really spoilt by my Mum, but at least I haven't heard her say she misses Daddy yet!!

Hope everyone else is doing well - hope everything goes ok tomorrow Pinky (it is tomorrow isn't it, or have I completely lost track of time!!!).

Bloody hell - I think you are right Fettle, I seem to remember it is PinkB's cesarean day today . Time has flown by... Looking forward to seeing the photo's.

Glad you got a bit of sun too Fettle .

I personally think ginger hair can look really good. Maybe it looks better on girls because they can use makeup on fair skin and use all the usual hair things to make their hair look fab.

I admire your sex drive Greedy - I would have grumbled a bit if I'd been woken up

honeyapple · 18/06/2007 09:59

Morning

Yup PinkB is probably being prepped for her c-section as we type. How exciting eh!

I had a dream last night that we had a scan and baby was a girl. Who knows!

Forgot to say, Chooster, Theo is a great name. I know a lovely cheeky Theo. Unusual, but not wacky. Would he be a theodore though?
