Hi All - I jealous that you all got time to come on here during the day - I'm too busy I think - 3 interviews and more training today! Got my check-up tomorrow afternoon, so see how my BP is!! BTW, Mrs normal BP is 120/80, so something over 90 is a bit high, but nothing to worry about, as long as you keep an eye on things. I'm quite lucky that generally mine is pretty low 110/70. Do you know what your BP is normally? I would say it might have been slightly raised as with your history, you might have been a bit subconciously worried about your booking in?!
So much DIY and building works going on - i'm very impressed with you all! Our house could do with knocking down and restarting, but that's cos it is an MOD house - can't wait to move into our house in August. not done anything to baby's room yet - bit too superstitious - we're going to start getting things for baby once DH is back from US in July and see if we want to decorate the room at all.
Honey, is Ritter sport really an 80's thing - now I feel really old! Felt ancient during an interview today when I realise that new graduates are nearly 12 years younger than me!! Particularly when she said that her supervisor at university had been pg and therefore very scatty! She probably just thought I was fat and not pg!! She'll get a shock if and when she starts and discovers that I'm pg - but hopefully not too scatty!!
Sorry to "miss" you in Scotland Mrs!!. DD and I are actually flying up, so I doubt we'll pass you! Mum lives just outside of St Andrews, so hopefully we'll be on the beaches there over the weekend, Chooster - checked 5 day weather forecast and Sunday is due to be 21 deg, which is warmer than down here, so we might be lucky! not expecting sun though!.
Mrs don't worry about your weight gain, if you BF you will probably find you lost it pretty quickly afterwards (although that didn't work for me, but I think I just ate too much, so it had no chance to work!!). You are doing really well to have only put on 3 lbs so far I'd say. With both my mcs I put on 7lbs, which I never lost, so I started this pg 2 stone heavier than with DD, as I never lost my extra stone I gained with her (lost 2 stone, just giving birth!!). So dread to think what your family would think of me!. So far this pg, I'm being more careful and only put on just over a stone so far. You eat what you want when you want, but just make sure you don't have the eating for 2 mentality as that is where I went wrong with DD! I'd been on a diet so much in the past that suddenly I didn't need to be and I went overboard eating everything I'd denied myself before - now I'm much more sensible.
Greedy, your neighbours sound awful - do you have much to do with them normally? How much longer is the building going to take? How is your locum-searching going? We're having trouble thinking of boys names, but those girls names you've picked are very unusual - just check the initials are ok and think of any shortening possible to counter any playground bullying!
Chooster - hope the breathing is better - what has the MW said about it? have you been checked for anemia? Try and take it easy, but as a fellow full-time working mother of a 3 year old, it is not easy is it!
BTW, quick question - is it really bad to lie on your back while pg? It is only comfortable position for me with my hips at night at the moment, but I seem to remember that it restricts blood flow to baby - is that right?
Hi Firsty - hope you are feeling ok? When I was pg with DD and had obstetric cholestasis I had to keep a close eye on DD's movements as there was an increased risk of fetal death. My MW told me if I ever felt concerned to drink some lucozade and if I felt no movement within 30-45 mins to call her! The glucose shot apparently makes them go crazy!! Thankfully I never had to try - only one time I was really concerned as I hadn't felt her move all night, then the radio came on (Chris Moyles) and she went crazy - I nearly e-mailed him to thank him!! Interestingly after she was born and first heard him on the radio properly, she started crying uncontrollably - she's obviously got more taste than her mother!!!
Glad to hear all going well with you babymad!
BTW, Bodders - did you get your tax return done!! PMSL at the thought of your decorator delivering your baby!!!
Anyway, DH has just commented on my essay, so I'd better go - hope everyone else well.
lol
