Hey MrsMc - I was just being very nosy and looking at the due in Jan antenatal club, when I saw PussyCatMomma is on there! Not that she has any idea who I am of course, but back in my TTC lurking days I was always hoping she would get her BFP, her posts were always so lovely and she seems such a great person.... So I have to confess to having a little lump in my throat on her behalf. I really hope the pregnancy goes well for her. Don't tell her I'm stalking her though, will you

honeyapple · 13/06/2007 20:23

I think I predicted a girl before.... will have to have a mammouth search done the thread...

(TBH I havent a clue whether it is a boy or a girl... but it is certainly a fidgety LO and pretty strong. It managed to push a book that I had resting on my tummy the other day... it was a hardback too.

Found it!

How about 31/10/07 7.10 girl

fettleandminifettle · 13/06/2007 20:49

Hi All - I jealous that you all got time to come on here during the day - I'm too busy I think - 3 interviews and more training today! Got my check-up tomorrow afternoon, so see how my BP is!! BTW, Mrs normal BP is 120/80, so something over 90 is a bit high, but nothing to worry about, as long as you keep an eye on things. I'm quite lucky that generally mine is pretty low 110/70. Do you know what your BP is normally? I would say it might have been slightly raised as with your history, you might have been a bit subconciously worried about your booking in?!

So much DIY and building works going on - i'm very impressed with you all! Our house could do with knocking down and restarting, but that's cos it is an MOD house - can't wait to move into our house in August. not done anything to baby's room yet - bit too superstitious - we're going to start getting things for baby once DH is back from US in July and see if we want to decorate the room at all.

Honey, is Ritter sport really an 80's thing - now I feel really old! Felt ancient during an interview today when I realise that new graduates are nearly 12 years younger than me!! Particularly when she said that her supervisor at university had been pg and therefore very scatty! She probably just thought I was fat and not pg!! She'll get a shock if and when she starts and discovers that I'm pg - but hopefully not too scatty!!

Sorry to "miss" you in Scotland Mrs!!. DD and I are actually flying up, so I doubt we'll pass you! Mum lives just outside of St Andrews, so hopefully we'll be on the beaches there over the weekend, Chooster - checked 5 day weather forecast and Sunday is due to be 21 deg, which is warmer than down here, so we might be lucky! not expecting sun though!.

Mrs don't worry about your weight gain, if you BF you will probably find you lost it pretty quickly afterwards (although that didn't work for me, but I think I just ate too much, so it had no chance to work!!). You are doing really well to have only put on 3 lbs so far I'd say. With both my mcs I put on 7lbs, which I never lost, so I started this pg 2 stone heavier than with DD, as I never lost my extra stone I gained with her (lost 2 stone, just giving birth!!). So dread to think what your family would think of me!. So far this pg, I'm being more careful and only put on just over a stone so far. You eat what you want when you want, but just make sure you don't have the eating for 2 mentality as that is where I went wrong with DD! I'd been on a diet so much in the past that suddenly I didn't need to be and I went overboard eating everything I'd denied myself before - now I'm much more sensible.

Greedy, your neighbours sound awful - do you have much to do with them normally? How much longer is the building going to take? How is your locum-searching going? We're having trouble thinking of boys names, but those girls names you've picked are very unusual - just check the initials are ok and think of any shortening possible to counter any playground bullying!

Chooster - hope the breathing is better - what has the MW said about it? have you been checked for anemia? Try and take it easy, but as a fellow full-time working mother of a 3 year old, it is not easy is it!

BTW, quick question - is it really bad to lie on your back while pg? It is only comfortable position for me with my hips at night at the moment, but I seem to remember that it restricts blood flow to baby - is that right?

Hi Firsty - hope you are feeling ok? When I was pg with DD and had obstetric cholestasis I had to keep a close eye on DD's movements as there was an increased risk of fetal death. My MW told me if I ever felt concerned to drink some lucozade and if I felt no movement within 30-45 mins to call her! The glucose shot apparently makes them go crazy!! Thankfully I never had to try - only one time I was really concerned as I hadn't felt her move all night, then the radio came on (Chris Moyles) and she went crazy - I nearly e-mailed him to thank him!! Interestingly after she was born and first heard him on the radio properly, she started crying uncontrollably - she's obviously got more taste than her mother!!!

Glad to hear all going well with you babymad!

BTW, Bodders - did you get your tax return done!! PMSL at the thought of your decorator delivering your baby!!!

Anyway, DH has just commented on my essay, so I'd better go - hope everyone else well.

lol

I was so long that I crossed with people!! I saw that pussycat had finally got her BFP too and also although she wouldn't know me, I remembered her and was so chuffed for her - I hope all goes well for her too!

Forgot to say in my last post that we took DD to my 20 week scan. Had no option as had noone to look after her and I needed DH with me. There were signs everywhere and on the letter saying that young children were not allowed as the sonographer needed to concentrate, but when we got there I just asked is it ok and sonographer said fine! I'd play it be ear and see what they say - don't be put off, as I think it did DD so much good to see baby in my tummy - made it more real for her! But bear in mind if they are disruptive, they may have to leave if they are putting sonographer off. But I would think they will be fascinated and won't make a sound!! Only think DD said was it's a girl, evn when shown his willy!!

honeyapple on Fri 25-May-07 08:29:20
I predict to be late... as was VERRY late with DD... also predict baby to be a bit bigger... 7 lb 10 maybe?
How about 31/10/07 7.10 girl
(halloween baby!)

fettleandminifettle on Fri 25-May-07 12:50:17
No predictions about this little one, just everything crossed that I?m 50% lucky and don?t get obstetric cholestasis again, but as DD was 7lb 4.5 oz at 36 weeks, I don?t want to think how big this little one will be
at 42 weeks overdue!!! [OUCH!!!!]

fettleandminifettle · 13/06/2007 21:13

Blimey Badmad - that must have taken you ages!!!

Great though!

honeyapple · 13/06/2007 21:14

Fettle- it is best to sleep on your left side. If you sleep on your back, the pressure from baby presses on your spine and major blood vessels... so yes, it does make blood flow harder for your body. Also can make constipation issues worse as also pressure on digestive system. Apparently! (Summary from What to Expect book)
Can you try putting lots of pillows around you? Or an extra duvet?

Not sure if I can be bothered to watch the Apprentice... do I really care who wins ??

fettleandminifettle · 13/06/2007 21:15

Sorry - me again - probably not that many people around, but need some advice.

Got my appointment tomorrow afternoon - do I need morning wee sample, or will it go off by afternoon and should I do one at lunchtime at work?

Any ideas or suggestions?

honeyapple · 13/06/2007 21:16

Lunchtime is fine! No need for morning wee.

fettleandminifettle · 13/06/2007 21:18

Thanks Honey - maybe I should lie on my back, as constipation is something I've really not suffered from this pg IYKWIM!! Gone the complete other way!

But probably not good to squash my blood supply!

Luckily left side, is more comfortable than right side - pillows everywhere - poor DH thinks I put a barrier up on purpose!

We're watching the apprentice, just cos we are! But i'm on here too, so not really paying much attention!

fettleandminifettle · 13/06/2007 21:19

Thanks again Honey! Think I'd rather do one at lunchtime, as I don't like the thought of wee heating up in the car in ths sun - or carrying it arond in my handbag all day at work!!

honeyapple · 13/06/2007 21:23

mmm, it's on in the background here too!
I think Christina has to win really... anyway enough of that!

I must say, I seem to be going from one extreme to the next with my digestive system! Probably cos one day I am starving all day and can't stop eating, and the next I can't be bothered to eat at all! Are you still taking PG vitamins/folic acid? I have got a load of pregnacare, but dont take them every day...

BabyMadandBIGbump · 13/06/2007 21:28

Fettle yep tuck forever

fettleandminifettle · 13/06/2007 21:35

ok - one more question - so many this evening!

What are your feelings on the suitability of Dumbo for a reasonably sensitive, inquisitive 3 yrs 3 month DD? She's fallen in love with the song "If I could see an elephnt fly?" and asked to watch the film on the airplane up to Scotland on Saturday. As she's been a really good girl over the last couple of weeks, we said yes (if she got the allocated number of be-good stamps, which she did!!). Now I'm worrying as I remember crying my eyes out at Dumbo and I don't want to scar her, particularly with DH away.

No way is she watching Bambi for a good few years yet and as for Watership Down, that should have an 18 certificate!!!

TTC GRADS BABY PREDICTOR THE LIST

BabyMadwithBump on Thu 24-May-07 14:57:52

It'll be very interesting to see who's right, watch this space....................................

honeyapple · 13/06/2007 21:51

Dumbo- should be fine for your DD... I dont think they really understand the sad bits until they are a bit bigger. Watership Down is horrific though... fighting rabbits with blood everywhere... defo an 18 cert!

fettleandminifettle · 13/06/2007 22:03

How does watership down have a "U" certificate? I watched it when I was 7 and I can still picture bits of it now!! It was terrifying and very very disturbing!

BabyMadandBIGbump · 13/06/2007 23:00

My DH is sitting here agreeing with both of you Watership Down should be a 15/18!

greedygreedyguzzler · 14/06/2007 09:44

fettle - you could try lying on your back with your a cushion under your left hip. thats what i do, but it isnt comfy for too long. its the blood flow in your aorta that gets restricted so if you prop up your left hip it kind of shifts baby's weight to the right and therefore off the aorta. i always really worry about that if i wake up in the night on my back!

can not believe stupid old alan sugar employed DIPPY SIMON!!!!! what a knob! i respected him before last night......dont anymore!!!

not sure about dumbo fettle! my ds watched bambi and asked lots of questions but i think he was a bit to young to get too upset and really understand. i think that was prob before he was 3 though.

going to try and find my prediction now and add it on!

honeyapple · 14/06/2007 09:45

Morning!

The builders are in, and have taken over my kitchen... snacking isnt going to be an easy option today . Didnt sleep well... had a horrid dream I was having proper contractions already.

Regarding the Predictor... both my MIL and DP think it is a boy for some reason. Infact MIL is convinced. Another week and we might find out .

Hope everyone is well today xx

honeyapple · 14/06/2007 09:46

I totally agree with you about Simon, Greedy- a total drip. But for some reason Alan fell for his school boy charms .

Hello all. So sorry I haven't been on to say hi. DS2 has had a viral thing for the past three weeks and we are getting no sleep at night so my days have just been too much of a struggle to find the time to get online even for a quick peek to see how you are all doing - hope you are all keeping well and continuing to bloom!

That's my section date come around already and we are all set for Monday morning - I will get on to let you know the details when I can.

Meantime take care everyone - I am continuing to think of you all. xx

honeyapple · 14/06/2007 10:09

Good luck PinkB! Lots of hugs going your way from us all, I am sure .
