Urrgh, that seller sounds like an idiot Iwillbe... I think fate has just been kind to you! It would be awaful to get so close to the end only for him to pull out. Not trying to be mean spirited (well, not much!) but I hope these new buyers pull out on him

Good news about the midwife coming round - I guess you are getting lucky this time with your care - Great news!! .

I hope what I've got is just an infection and not pre-eclampsia. I'm not very medical Iwillbe, but its a condition associated with high blood pressure and, if caught early enough can be treated to try to bring the blood pressure down. Ultilately though delivery of the baby is the only cure so it can result in early delivery if it turns nasty. My mum had pre-eclampsia but I'd be surprisd if thats what I've got. I've always had really good blood pressure.

Anyway, am struggling to breathe - have been a bit breathless for days now and have got a bad back so am going to lie down for 5 mins - oh the joys of working at home

Taichimum · 31/05/2007 15:38

Just popped onto this thread to congratulate Mrs Mc on your BFP. How many weeks are you now?

Chooster · 31/05/2007 15:40

I had bloods taken at my first midwife booking in appointment Iwillbe (well at least I think I did!?!?!)

Evening all

greedy - sorry about the desp housewives spoiler - but it was in the trailer - did you watch it last night - all is not as it seems with old preggers Bree and what about Edie -OMG!
about builders and extension.

Iwillbe What a rollercoaster week - nightmare about the house - but I am a big believer in fate - if you are meant to have that house you will get it - if not it is because there is something better to come Good news about mw - how was it? Left a message for mine last week - and was told booking in would be in week 8? Sorry about the sickness - mine comes and goes all day - not so bad today.

firststar - sorry about your pains - hope they have improved a bit- ohhh the joys of the third trimester

fettle Sorry you were feeling low - IKWYM about being cold - it is sunny here but I almost put the heating on yesterday Your anniversary trip sounds exciting

MrsMc - Exciting about your hols but boo hiss about DH missing your anniversary - I think that means an xtra special diamond like present?? My DH had his stag in Poland and loved it - he got well into some weird honey/vodka liqueur thing.

Bodkin - that is so sweet about your DD and bump sharing hiccups

honeyapple how lovely about DH feeling movements - cant wait for that - in fact can't wait for anything - heartbeat, scan pics anything - seems so far away still [frustrated emoticon]

Chooster about breathlessness and blood pressure/ water works issues. I have been quite prone to urine infections since TTC and they are horrid -although it does not sound like it is that as you have no pain? Hope they get to the bottom of it soon to put your mind at rest. Have you got a dog or cat you can stroke to lower blood pressure (its a proven scientific fact - honest!) IKWYM about the joys of working from home - hats of to all you FT office workers out there - I am finding that I come to a grinding halt after lunch and fall asleep nearly everyday for the duration of Murder She Wrote always seem to wake up as the end credits roll!

Right - Fatherly advice - my Dad called and told me I should eat an apple a day (or at least 4 a week) as a study has just come out that shows women who did this throughout pregnancy had a greatly reduced level of respiratory probs/asthma and excema (sp?) in their babies I'm going to try although always seem to fancy a bar of choc or some ice cream instead of an apple

I went to yoga again today - am cutting back to 1 or 2 classes a week (usualy do 3 or 4) but am still unsure if I should even be doing that - conflicting advice everywhere - some says carry on and others say stop? seems to be the norm with all preg advice

Sorry if I have missed anyone off - keep getting distracted by work emails so this post is probably as clear as mud!

iwillbepgbydec2007 · 31/05/2007 20:39

chooster sorry about the breathlessness that must be a horrible experience i hope it improves soon. did you talk to your midwife about it?

seaside hello!! you are so right about the house thing - I FOUND ANOTHER ONE!! we cant view it until tomorrow but us being us we went and had a sneaky peak tonight it has a tonne of potential and will be divine after ive finished with it! apparently its been on the market for 3 months reason being the 3rd bedroom is extremely tiny but....dp being a builder he will extend for next to nothing in cost. im happy again now

mw appointment went well and the reason she visited so early is because our hospital is over run and i wont get a scan until atleast 14weeks she said and also it may be the only one i get as the hospital is so busy. im not too fussed as all being well i will be having a private 4d scan at 24 weeks anyway plus the viability scan in 3 weeks.
one thing that did concern me was the mention of this triple test did the rest of you go for that and should i be worried. she said if my chances are more than 1 in 250 i will be referred for the test where they put the needle in your belly to get amniotic fluid (cant spell the name of it). anyway she was lovely and in her mid 50s she gave me loads of reading material. im glad the ball is rolling now apart from i have stomach ache tonight period pain like

have a good night everyone im off to wash my hair b4 jordan and peter

greedygreedyguzzler · 31/05/2007 21:03

just had to say PHWOAR!!!!!!!!!!! How much do i fancy that sean from eastenders? i was so jealous of carly tonight.............not fair! where is my dh when i need to pounce on him and rip his clothes off and pretend he's sean hey?

greedygreedyguzzler · 31/05/2007 21:09

sorry, just read some posts.
i willbe - dont worry about the triple test at all. it is a standard test that they do at 16 wks gestation. it is to calculate the risk of baby having downs or spina bifida. the risk is calculated from the concentration of AFP in your blood, your gestation and your age. if i rememeber rightly you are still a spring chicken aren't you? the risk gets higher as you get older so i wouldn't think you are at high risk. they consider 1 in 250 or lower as high risk but then the chance of miscarriage with an amniocentesis is 1 in 100 anyway. so personally, if i had ever been found to be high risk but the risk was greater than 1 in 100 i would never opt for an amnio. thats all personal choice though obviously.
anyway, all i am trying to say is ............dont worry............and yippee on the house!........................and i love sean from eastenders!............thats all!

MrsMcJnr · 31/05/2007 21:25

Hey Greedy I?ve missed you! we decided to play it safe and go to Spain for our hols. Staying with my folks for a week and then friends are joining us and we are going up the Coast to a lovely hotel ? massive white sandy beach, big waves, not much to do I am getting excited V scared about the scan I have to say, I don?t think I have ever wanted anything so much in my life as this baby (don?t tell dh! ) How are you feeling these days? Dare I ask if the bleeding has stopped? Hope the extension gets off to a better start tomorrow!

Honeyapple that?s lovely about the kicks!! Can?t wait!

Iwillbe I?m sorry about the house, you?ll just have to see it as fate, a better one will come up and you have got lots of time before Junior arrives to find the perfect nest

Hey Seaside that MS sounds powerful! Take good care.

Fettle ? hope today was a better day

Chooster I?m a hotel girl too bet you guessed that about me?! Hope the aches are better, 32 weeks ? wow!! All sounded good apart from the protein at your check up, fingers crossed it?s something very minor

Hey Firsty first night without DH has been fine, 3 pals turned up at my door with amazing flowers, champagne and a card ? they drank the champagne but I was so touched that they made such an effort for me You take care, hope you feel better soon

Thanks Taichimum I?m somewhere between 7 and 8 weeks how are you?

seaside72 · 31/05/2007 21:32

Arghhh - forgot Jordan & Peter - thanks Iwillbe!! (Dad gave me another talling to about not watching too much trash TV - he thinks it will stunt our baby's intellect- pmsl )

Iwillbe - Fantastic news about house #2 - told ya!

MrsMc- very about your hols!

greedy - Eastenders Sean eh - you like them grubby then - I always think he needs a good wash and shave!!

seaside72 · 31/05/2007 21:36

Oops forgot to say - Iwilbe - glad mw went well but about the packed hospital and scans. Greedy is right -There are loads of other tests they will do before getting to an amnio and you are young and am sure your risks will be really low anyway

I've had some Af type pains today too ?? yuk

Chooster · 31/05/2007 22:03

Hi all - yup Sean is pretty sexy!!! I do have to agree with that. He looks like he could do with a shave but I bet he's not grubby where it counts! I also have a strange crush on Grand Designs man - now he is definately not grubby

Yeeeaaahhhh, on the other house Iwillbe! Thats great news... I also believe that fate will sort it all out in the end. Speaking of amnio's and CVS's (like an amnio but they take a sample of the placenta instead of the fluid) - don't worry even if you end up having one. They really aren't that bad - a little uncomfortable. There is also an argument that says that a lot of the miscarriages associated with amnio / cvs would have happened anyway as the people being referred for them are, in some cases, higher risk anyway - does that make sense? Anyway, as has been said there are plenty of other tests to get through before you reach that stage

Seaside - your dad sounds like a real sweetheart with the comments on the apples and TV - he obviously can't wait to be a grandad

I did mention my breathlessness but he didn't really say much about it - maybe he just thought I was really unfit! However I have noticed a real difference in the last couple of days and am really tired - have fallen asleep every night putting DS to bed. Am sure its just cos the baby is squashing everything up.

Ahhh, MrsMc - I thought you'd be a hotel gal too!!! Thats so lovely about your friends coming round

Hi to everyone else!!!!

Chooster · 31/05/2007 22:05

Oops, that came out as really negative Iwillbe on the tests - what I meant to say was that I'm sure you won't get to that stage and all the initial tests will be fine.

greedygreedyguzzler · 31/05/2007 22:56

yeah i like 'em grubby!!! and stubbly!.....................in fact mrsmc............... i think i could quite fancy your dh if he had been out in the garden getting grubby and sweaty..........i remember you said he was REALLY stubbly!

sorry i am getting carried away again!.........dh will be home soon and i can pounce on him and then my horniness will be calmed for a few days!

Hi Greedy- did DH sort you out then??

iwillbe- great news about the house... where in UK are you? Are you moving far from your present home?

Mrs- your holiday sounds lovely, where in Spain are you going? Can't wait till we go away, but still have to get through another 6 wks of school first. I can't believe how quickly the time is going though...I mean it is JUNE already.

Seaside- I'm not able to start my yoga classes until July as the teacher cocked up on her bookings. I think you should just take it easy for a few weeks... I used to go swimming every week, but stopped when I got BFP (got a bit paranoid). I am going to start again next week. Got to get a new bikini- my boobs are overflowing my old one!
(Need a sensible bikini suitable for doing lengths bTW... not a flimsy triangle number if you had that picture in your mind )

To everyone else HI!! Lots of love! Hope all the aches and pains have disappeared.

The clinic where I had my private 12 wk scan sent me some bumpf about their new 4D scan... £150!! Think I will wait to see LO for free instead.

Chooster · 01/06/2007 10:25

Wow, Firststar - you are right - its wierd to think our LO's are due next month I just keep focusing on the date I'm leaving work rather than the due date. So when people say to me "how long have you got?" I usually say the amount of weeks left til I stop work - how sad is that I just can't wait. My enthusiasm for work is rapidly dropping to zero!!! My little weasel of a boss has just moved my 11am meeting with him to 4pm - Grrrrrrr, and here was I hoping to sneak away early.

My tiredness could be low iron levels - last time my bloods were done they said my iron was a little on the low side but not enough to warrant doing anything about it. Maybe its got worse? The breathlessness is still here, but am sure its just normal squishing of organs. Anyway got new blood and wee being tested at the moment so hopefully I'll get some news soon. I could of course just be a lazy unfit heffer!!!

Blimey, you were on heat last night weren't you Greedy!!!!! Hope your DH obliged

Where are you going on your hols Honeyapple???

Firstar- probably could find a cheaper 4D scan somewhere... but all seems a bit money grabbing to me ... get us at our most vulnerable and most willing to through money away! I mean, I bet they are amazing...

Chooster- we are taking the overnight ferry to Brittany... staying in a hotel in St malo for 2 nights, then a gite near the sea for a week. Apparently the gite has some goats to look after!
Then of course, dont forget the annual family camping trip... me and my lot, my sisters and their lots, my ma and pa, and apparently my aunt... FAB!

DC want to go swimming now... can't think of an excuse not to go! Might have to quickly shave my legs...

honeyapple · 01/06/2007 10:47

THROW money away

Chooster · 01/06/2007 11:19

That sounds fantastic - I had a holiday in St Malo when I was younger and loved it. It'll be great fun!!! And even though I'm not really into camping - your trip does sound great I bet your DC love it with all their family there.

I know Firsty!!! Who arranges a meeting for 4pm on a friday? He's a wierd freaky boss who works all the hours. I'm picking DS up from nursery as well today so I really wanted to be away as parents tend to pick their kids up a little early on a friday and I hate the thought of DS being one of the last to leave

Chooster · 01/06/2007 11:21

And.... If history is anything to go by, he'll cancel at about 4.15pm because he's running late or has something more important to do - Sorry just had to get that off my chest.

MrsMcJnr · 01/06/2007 13:07

Hello Ladies hope everyone is well. I?m having a scary day I was exhausted last night after meetings all day and went to bed truly knackered. DH is away on a Stag and normally I can?t sleep but I slept like a log last night. Woke up when I alarm went off feeling really rough and exhausted and with a stuffy nose. Temped and got an alarming 36.0. A drop by 8c from the day before. Well, I freaked. Dropping temps can be a sign of MC as they often mean that the progesterone levels are dropping. I tried to reason with myself that it could be for many reasons but decided to stay at home and go back to sleep. Temped again when I got up at 9. same low temp I otherwise just feel sick and tired but that could well me nerves now! There is no point trying to get medical reassurance as they think it is nonsense at my GP and the EPU.

Will try and catch up with you now
