Getting pregnant after implant removal

I was just wondering about people’s experiences with contraceptive rod removal? I had my contraceptive rod removed on 25th April so two weeks yday. I had it removed as want to try for second baby. I haven’t had my period yet although I feel like I’m about to start it I don’t. I have been testing with ovulation sticks and it’s always saying negative. Tested daily apart from around 4 days in total and apart from day of removal. Was wondering how long it took people to get pregnant after rod removal and for their periods to return? I have been a bit run down from this rod removal something which hasn’t really happened before thanks!!

Hey ladies I had my implant removed a week ago me and partner been having unprotected sex can I get pregnant fast after my implant remove I en see my period yet

I had my implant removed on 09.01.2020, didn’t get my first period until 23.04.2020 then they were around 45/46 days apart. I started taking soy isoflavones in September in an attempt to regulate my cycles. That cycle reduced to 27 days! I took them again the following cycle and then found out I was pregnant on 29th November 2020.
It can take a while for periods to go back to normal after having the implant out. I’d had implants for 7 year and was on the pill for about 8 year before that. Not everyone goes back to normal straight away so don’t panic.
I don’t know if the soy isoflavones helped or if it was just coincidence that my periods went back to normal of their own accord at that time.

Everyone's body is different I had the implant in for 6 years with no periods and when i got it taken out in June 2019, I had 3 periods until I fell pregnant in July 2020, so it took me a year to fall pregnant, im currently 32 weeks with a girl 💖

Hi everyone, i had my implant removed on may the 26th been having regular intercourse, never had regular periods. Can anyone recommend when i should take a pregnancy test? Thanks

@Kala2010 When I had my implant removed, it didn't affect my periods at all, so I would suggest to test when you think you've missed a period.

I've fallen pregnant either the month of - or the month after having my implant removed each time, so it definitely didn't effect my fertility!!

Thanks sillyBry. I will try that usual towards the end of the month i get it. I will take a test then if i dont get any bleeding. 🤞

I had my implant taken out early March, didn't have a period in March, had a period end of April, and then did a test at end of May when a next period didn't arrive and found out I was pregnant!

I don't think the implant affects cycles as much as the pill and others do x

Hi , just a wee quick update i was on last month asking about how long it can take to fall pregnant after having implant out.
Took a pregnancy test last nite and today. Confirmation i am pregnant. Over joyed thanks to everyone on the advice they gave. 🤩😍🥳😘

It took me a year to become pregnant with ds after removal and 4 months nearly exactly for periods to start.

Hi I had mine out a week ago and iv been getting pregnancy symptoms but had unprotected sex 2 days before and the night of removal but waiting for next week to take test I’m hoping I’m one of the lucky ones to Grin

I'd love to have that I got a negative. Had a period when implant was removed 2 days later haha . But nothing since took tests still nothing. 6 weeks tomorrow since my last period and still negative. So happy for you congratulations 🥳

How long did it take to get pregnant? I had my implant out on the 22nd December. Still trying I'm getting dishearted to be honest

Hi all, i had my implant out at the end of January 2022 and immediately started taking pregnacare fertility supplements. I had a period in mid February and am now pregnant with my first baby(6 weeks). I am 36 and thought itd take longer but its true fertility can return very quickly after implant removal. I also used the flo app to log my period and it predicted my ovulation date even with just entering just one period. I was on the implant for 5 years and the pill before that since 15 years old. Hope this gives some people some hope.

Hi !! So I had my implant out 4 weeks ago , didn’t get a period so unsure if I ovulated but have gotten a faint positive test today. Could this be false ??? I didn’t think I’d ovulate till I got a period and wasn’t doing ovulation tests

Hi when I got my implant out in July 2019 I did get my first until 8 weeks later, i had only had 4 periods with in a year and in July 2020 I felt pregnant, so yes you are pregnant, you ovulat a few days before your period is going to come, congratulations 🎊

It took me a year and i have 2 inplants (6years), I know you really want a baby but I did everything took tests and tablets and I was keep getting negative and I just stopped trying so hard and BAM! I was pregnant, don't forget you dont need a period to ovulat, you ovulat before your period comes, I only had 4 within a year and I fell pregnant, now i have a beautiful 1 year old girl, wish you luck

@isabella99 I had my implant taken out at the start of November (having had 2 consecutive for 7 years as couldn't have it removed on time due to covid). Didn't have any periods for 2 months apart from spotting (which made me feel a bit disheartened) then had my first proper period January and a positive ovulation test at the end of Jan and now 14 weeks pregnant. It can turn around pretty quickly but everyone different. I would advise tracking ovulation though. I got this big pack of the test strips from Amazon called 'mum med'

I had mine taken out in January last year (2021). We tried each month and I fell pregnant in the May. Currently sat up after a feed with my beautiful 12-week-old baby girl.

As others have said, each body is different I was so disheartened after the very first try didn't work but slowly started to give myself a break and got pregnant on the month we really stopped obsessing over testing, etc.
