I'm glad everything was ok belkins. I managed to make my normal jeans last a bit longer by using a hairband to extend the waist and then just wore loose tops. To be honest though, early on when the bloat was mainly an issue in the evening, I just tended to lie on the sofa with my jeans undone or put my pjs on! No good if you're in the company of anyone other than OH however!

Belkinsboo · 26/04/2018 18:56

Oh yes @keeponrunning85 I am fully embracing the 'jeans undone, bloat fully allowed to breathe' look on the sofa in the evenings! I've even started to wear old lady nightshirts instead of pjs so I have nothing around my midriff at night Grin

I've also given the jeans a bit longer by using an elastic band! I wear smart jeans for work but am sitting for most of the day so they still tend to cut in so I'm not sure how long the band will do the job!

Hey everyone! I’ve not had a chance to get on here for a few days but good news for me! Had my early scan on Tuesday (6+4) and there was a sac, embryo and the tiniest heartbeat detected. They asked me to go back in 2 weeks for another check to make sure things are developing as they should but I’m so relieved everything was looking good at this scan 💙

hotcookie · 27/04/2018 06:07

Hi guys,
I've been MIA as our little one FINALLY decided to make an appearance in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Just about dead on 8lbs. Labour ramped up very quickly, but I pushed for a long time with nothing happening & was moved from MLU to delivery suite (across the corridor in this case) where I was about to have a catheter, be put on my back in stirrups & have oxytocin drip, but she had other ideas-the walk did her good and was born 20mins later.
We're smitten!
She was 42 weeks from her scan but 41+ 3 from my dates, and a very nice consultant listened to my fears re induction and everything and was happy for me to continue to wait for a natural start, which was fantastic, but with a view to a csection if she didn't appear. Sleeping has been tough but again-worth it!!

Maggi85 · 27/04/2018 06:44

Amazing news @hotcookie so happy for your family congratulations xxx

@mummyjl15 glad the scan went well and good next there keeping a eye on you keep us updated x my six week scan put me at between 5-6 weeks and everything was very small but there was a heartbeat but have been put on progesterone and will get a rescan in 3 weeks xx

LisaSimpsonsbff · 27/04/2018 08:18

Huge congratulations, hotcookie! So glad to hear that both you and your little girl are doing so well - hope you're enjoying these early days together!

keeponrunning85 · 27/04/2018 08:41

Great news hotcookie! I'm so glad you managed a normal delivery in the end. Enjoy getting to know her.

NoCatsHere · 27/04/2018 11:14

So happy to hear your news hotcookie enjoy yoyur newborn bubble!

belkins jeggings are quite a good in between trouser if you can't do the hairband anymore, and a longer top? Instead of doing full maternity wear. Or I'm finding boxy cut tops better for hiding things. Last time I was pregnant i bought jeggings from m&s that were ok. Especially black for work as they look a bit smarter than denim i think.

Paranormalbouquet · 27/04/2018 15:47

Congratulations @hotcookie!

I’m really anxious today, have had a lot of cramps over the past 24 hours. Think I’m 6 weeks today. Desperate for a scan and at the same time terrified if that makes sense.

peachesarenom · 27/04/2018 17:02

Hi everyone, just to let you know my scan went well, got to go back in two weeks to confirm viability

Flatwhite32 · 27/04/2018 17:31

Congratulations @hotcookie, how lovely!

@peachesarenom I'm so pleased for you! That's fab news.

My latest anxiety is now something going wrong in trimester 3. In the past 2 months I have heard about 2 women losing babies at thirty something weeks. Sad

MsMGS · 27/04/2018 17:39

Hi everyone, can I join this thread? I'm 6wks today after a MC at 11+5 last May.

Anxious is an understatement, I'm 41 & had my DS after IVF back in 2009 and until last year we assumed that was it for us. Now back on this rollercoaster & I'm really stressing it's going to go the same way as last year, we got so close to the 12 week scan too. Booked in for a private scan at 7+4 but wonder if that will help or not!? Early scan with DS back in 2009 showed a vanishing twin too.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 27/04/2018 18:28

So pleased to hear about the good scan, peaches

I really feel for you flatwhite - I know you've had such an anxious pregnancy. I'm also going through a bad patch with anxiety. They made me go into the hospital to have his heart monitored again yesterday (and back on Sunday) and while in some ways I'm grateful that I get to hear it so much - especially as every time so far it's been just fine - every time it gets me worked up beforehand. I can understand why those stories have really shaken you - but it sounds like they were quite distant, rather than people you know directly? Remember that it's exactly because losing so late in pregnancy is so rare, so shocking and so tragic that people talk a lot about it when it happens (people will mention their friend's sister-in-law having lost a baby, for instance, but are unlikely to mention someone that unrelated to you having a healthy baby) - but that makes it seem like it's everywhere.

iamloading · 27/04/2018 18:53

I know this sounds stupid but what helped me was looking up the stillbirth stats at my local hospital. There were only 4 for the whole of last year (tragic as I was one of them) but it helped reassure me how rare it actually is for this one...
But I might just be weird like that 😳

BloominMoomin89 · 27/04/2018 19:03

Congratulations hot cookie!
Iamloading i try and look up on the pregnancy stats and remind myself babies ARE born so i have a good chance and im not destined for another mc.
Scan tomorrow at 1245 Confused

MsJuniper · 27/04/2018 21:17

Congratulations @hotcookie! Lovely news.

Hello to everyone else on the thread x

mummyjl15 · 27/04/2018 21:17

Huge congratulations @hotcookie that’s such wonderful news!!

Iswallowtoothpaste · 28/04/2018 06:51

Hi all, I’ve actually just posted a thread on the pregnancy board.

We M/C Christmas 2015, so this is my first pregnancy since. I only found out a couple of days ago so I’m obviously very early.

I’m absolutely terrified, I’ve yet to go to doctors to get everything confirmed. I’m overweight so no doubt I’ll get a bollocking about that. Was a normal weight when my DD was born.

Every time I go to the loo I’m knicker checking to make sure I haven’t bled. I’m already driving myself nuts.

BloominMoomin89 · 28/04/2018 08:02

Im driving myself crazy the morning. The last time i attended a private 8 week scan was the bad news one. I feel no symptoms and just keep knicker checking because im sure im doomed. Even though i had no bleeding at all last time, no signs and increasing symptoms so my paranoia doesnt even make sense in that respect.
Im so desperately hoping i get to stay on this board later. Find out at 1pm.

peachesarenom · 28/04/2018 08:27

Thanks Flatwhite32 and LisaSimpsonsbff I just really want to get to 12 weeks as mc at 11 last time.

Paranormalbouquet · 28/04/2018 09:11

Some spotting here this morning, expecting it’s the start of miscarriage number 4.

Anxiousfeelings · 28/04/2018 10:11

So sorry if that is the case @paranormal.

@bloomin good luck with the scan later. I also have very mild symptoms this time (am 7+2 today, I think). My scan is just when I turn 9 weeks and that was the bad news one last time round. Everything seems to always be on Fridays for me...

Iswallowtoothpaste · 28/04/2018 10:16

paranormal I hope not.

I had a very light bleed with DD at around 6 weeks accompanied by cramps. I was referred to the EPU where I had a scan which showed a strong heartbeat and no visible cause for the bleeding at 7+4 weeks. Wishing you all of the luck in the world Flowers

Paranormalbouquet · 28/04/2018 10:44

It’s getting heavier now, so think I’m out. Booked a private scan for today which will just show what I know but at least will speed up the epu process.

Iswallowtoothpaste · 28/04/2018 10:46

So sorry Sad it’s an awful thing to go through Flowers
