Great news on the scan paranormal! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly tomorrow.

doleritedinosaur · 31/05/2018 19:03

Great news @Paranormalbouquet & hope the surgery goes well tomorrow.

I finally booked in for midwife but as I left it so late it’s 2 weeks tomorrow when that’s ideally when I ought to have an early scan so really I should ring up tomorrow but I don’t know if I should just wait until appointment.
& found out my amazing midwife from last time has moved to delivery ward. Slowly starting to feel like this pregnancy is real & less scared of every cramp.

hayleyfx · 31/05/2018 19:05

@Paranormalbouquet great news about your scan! & sending you lots of luck for tomorrow.

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 31/05/2018 21:43

20 week scan tomorrow and Um completely crapping it. Any words of encouragement to show me how stupid I'm being? 16 week scan seemed okay so I'm hoping that's a good sign

Wellthisunexpected · 31/05/2018 22:23

Oh unicorn I totally get the scanxiety. I was like that with DS. I'm sure it'll be fine tomorrow, especially as you had one at 16weeks.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 31/05/2018 23:32

Handhold for you unicorns - I had a big panic before my 20 week scan too. I don't think there's much you can do about scanxiety - no matter how much you tell yourself how good the odds are rationally and so on, the fear remains - so I'll just hope that the time until the scan passes as quickly as possible for you, and then you get to hear the reassuring news you need.

Paranormalbouquet · 01/06/2018 05:53

@UnicornsandRainbows1 totally natural to worry re the scan. Remember most scans are normal, and of those that aren’t most are minor anomalies. My DD had a kidney anomaly picked up at 20week scan which has never caused her any issues but caused us a lot of needless anxiety before the birth!

Barely slept, have a headache and am super nauseous but obviously fasting so can’t eat to settle it. Fingers crossed procedure is relatively early!

DBoo · 01/06/2018 07:02

Scanxiety is crap @UnicornsandRainbows1 hope all goes well and you have manages to get some sleep. No helpful tips from me im afraid i just lay and close my eyes lol!

@Paranormalbouquet thinkinf of you today let us know how u get on when you feel upto it.

DBoo · 01/06/2018 07:19

Actually, this is probably going to sound really sill but when i was pregnant with my son which was my longest pregnancy (stillborn) i remember waking up one night in early pregnancy and my insides towards my back were acheing / burning. I remember panicking and going all hot and sweaty then eventually it passed. It scared the life out of me at the time and i remember thinking this is it then everything was fine. Has anyone else ever had this?i had a similar thing happen last night and wondered if it is the everything bedding in a bit?i've took it as a good sign anyway!

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 01/06/2018 07:50

On the bus now so just reading your kind messages. I'm sure it'll be ok. I really hope it's okay.

SoozC · 01/06/2018 08:21

Hope all goes well, Unicorns.

DBoo · 01/06/2018 08:38

Keeping everything crossed for you unicorns! Hopefully straight in and out.

Flatwhite32 · 01/06/2018 09:06

Good luck @UnicornsandRainbows1! Xxx

NoCatsHere · 01/06/2018 09:20

Good luck unicorns sure everything will be fine.

dboo i dont remember a feeling like that, i don't think, but sure being sweaty/hot flush type things are pretty normal in pregnancy - probably hormone stuff? good you see it as a positive, there's enough little twinges to worry over hey!

Wellthisunexpected · 01/06/2018 09:23

Just can't stop knicker checking and worrying about every twinge. Not feeling hopeful today.

DBoo · 01/06/2018 10:00

Thanks @NoCatsHere. It was like pain followed by panic then i calmed down when i remembered i had had it before.

@Wellthisunexpected i am exactly the same. 5+3 round abouts. Not feeling much tbh sore nipples. Sleeping a bit earlier than normal. Hungry as soon as i open my eyes but thats about it.

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 01/06/2018 11:20

All is okay thankfully. Measurements seems fine and she's still a she (and still likes to be as awkward as possible at scans) :)

Fantastic news unicorns - so pleased for you and your little girl!

mummyjl15 · 01/06/2018 11:29

Ah congratulations @UnicornsandRainbows1

I’m so huge at the moment, my normal jeans no longer do up and I’m struggling to suck my tummy in when I want to hide this ever growing bump! I didn’t start showing until 14/15 weeks with my first but maybe after her and the 3 MC’s my body has just gone mental already.

I’m the size I was at 4 months with my first already and I’m only 12 weeks! Still, it’s really reassuring seeing the changes and having the symptoms so I’m thankful!

DBoo · 01/06/2018 11:31

@UnicornsandRainbows1 beautiful. Glad all is well.

I was like that last pregnancy couldnt fit in any normal clothes before 12 weeks nightmare if trying to keep it to yourself.

NoCatsHere · 01/06/2018 11:40

Ahhh unicorns wonderful pictures. So happy for you!

mummyjl i'm massive this time already, its my 5th pregnancy and third baby and i think tummy wise is so loose from previous pregnancies. I only just managed to hide it past 13 weeks and only because i did the school run forever clutching a scarf/bag to my tummy and so lucky i work for myself at home!!

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 01/06/2018 12:00

@Paranormalbouquet Hope all goes well today for you.

Wellthisunexpected · 01/06/2018 14:13

Fab news unicorns

Paranormalbouquet · 01/06/2018 15:47

Congratulations Unicorn! I’m post op now. Big surgery it turns out, wound bigger than a c section. Was struggling with pain but it’s improving now. Dragged myself out of bed but felt I’d overdone it so am back in now!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 01/06/2018 15:50

@Paranormalbouquet hope recovery is smooth. Do they give you a GA for that then?

@UnicornsandRainbows1 congratulations! Must be such a relief x

I'm still struggling with breathlessness but only when exerting myself eg walking up a hill. Hoping it's just a bit of irritation and will go away, I can't be 90 years old overnight
