If we can't be positive about the weather what can we be? Grin

No more googling :) You know stats are not reassuring! One day at a time instead. And viability at 31 weeks is excellent and increasing in leaps and bounds every day. Don't google that. Just trust me.

If your anxiety is high and movements are irregular maybe it's worth asking for extra appointments/monitoring?

Congratulations @MsJuniper, it looks like we made it. I have my little boy dozing peacefully beside me too after a successful op. I went into labour early yesterday but managed to hold off for planned c section. We are on cloud nine. This thread has been such a great support in the tough days to reach this point. I really do wish you all the best of luck x

MsJuniper · 28/03/2018 22:50

Ah I'm so happy for you @itsgoingtoofast - have been thinking of you today. Delighted to hear you are also enjoying your sleepy wonderful newborn. What an amazing day for us both. I hope everyone here finds themselves in a similar place in coming months.

@UnicornsandRainbows1 a great date indeed! Wink

BertieBotts · 28/03/2018 22:50

Aww, so many births in the last few days! We'd love pictures if anyone is happy to share? Hint hint :o Even just a teeny hand or foot if privacy is a concern.

Congratulations too itsgoingtoofast.

I. So so happy for you both. Enjoy. Xx

@keeping oh no that sounds like the worst seeing the heart beat but still losing it :( I literally want a scan every week I’m that scared :( I know how you feel! Mines today and I can’t sleep from the nerves! I’m hoping they can see something as I’m still so early! My fingers are crossed for you and your scan next week!

@bertie - oh wow that’s early!! I’ll be 4 weeks 5 days on my scan tomorrow so I’m hoping they ask me back in 10 days for a repeat! That’s if everything goes ok tomorrow!

zaalitje · 29/03/2018 05:26

Thanks bertie

I do know better than to Google, felt like a naughty school girl whilst doing it.
I also know that stats for me are useless as I've been on the wrong side of them too often.
After a rubbish night sleep I've been awake a while and felt a couple of movements, and another as I typed, I'm just hoping he's wriggled into some awkward less feely position.

I know advice had moved on and we are supposed to monitor patterns rather than count kicks Confused Blush read something last night that said if you feel less than 10 moves an hour contact Hcps (think it was American advice). Does 10 kicks sound normal for anyone? I might have the odd hour with 10 but not every hour and as a minimum!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 29/03/2018 05:45

@MsJuniper huge congratulations!! 💗 and what a lovely message- brought a tear to my eye! These boards are an invaluable support. I remember when I started miscarrying at home at 10wks and I was scared I posted on here as I had no idea what to expect, people were so lovely.

@itsgoingtoofast congratulations to you too! Wonderful news!

I'm 20 weeks on Monday and feeling more movement every day but nothing regular yet. It has gone fast since 12wks! Weeks 4-12 felt like 8 years! (And I didn't even get any sickness with this pregnancy - unlike the last one!)
I have to wait till 21+3 for my anomaly scan though.

They expect I will deliver before 40wks as my dd was born at 36wks but I need to make it to 37wks this time to get my home birth! Also I'm finishing work at 36+5 and birth pool arrives at 37+0.

I've not been holding off planning or buying things - optimism has been the only way for me to cope - so a bit nervous for the anomaly scan now.

BertieBotts · 29/03/2018 08:31

10 kicks in an hour was the advice 10 years ago when I had DS and I thought it had moved on. IIRC it means 10 kicks in any hour at least once a day, not 10 kicks each hour. But I don't think they want you to count kicks any more but sessions of movement to see what's normal for you.

When's your scan grumpy? I have one on the 10th and 11th. I think the 11th will be the more detailed one.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 29/03/2018 08:42

Mines on the 12th Bertie

zaalitje · 29/03/2018 08:47

Bertie thank you!! 10 in any one hour makes far more sense and makes me feel a little better.
I called PAU to try and get some advice but they just keep saying "any change from normal " even though I am saying thete is no normal.

Still bean seems to have moved couple times this morning so I'll chill a little 😊

hotcookie · 29/03/2018 08:58

MsJuniper & itsgoingtoofast congratulations-great news, enjoy the newborn snuggles & I hope the recovery from the sections go well

bertie I was just planning on arnica from boots, looking around it seems like you don't take it pre surgery, just after, but I'll look further into it.

Congratulations on the positive scans & tests people.

I'm thinking I really need to get bags sorted and stuff... Maybe this weekend. Section is scheduled for 2 weeks today!

zaalitje · 29/03/2018 09:01

itsgoing congratulations!

Fabulous news!

kirinm · 29/03/2018 12:55

Had my midwife appointment and heard baby's heartbeat. Whilst feeling my stomach the midwife said 'oooh sorry' - realised she was saying it to the baby who had kicked her :)

She referred me to the maternity assessment unit to investigate the bleeding. They can see a lesion / adhesion on my cervix which may end up being either scarring from a Lletz treatment a few years ago or worse, abnormal cells. Im being referred to a specialist- probably to have a biopsy. It does unfortunately mean that I'll probably bleed again but I didn't doubt that. The good news is that there doesn't appear to be any bleeding around the placenta. So this is more an issue with me than the baby. Just have to hope it isn't anything too serious.

AnneLovesGilbert · 29/03/2018 13:36

Such a relief your baby's doing well Kirinm, really hope bleeding calms down and the specialist can help.

Hugest congratulations and love to MrsJ and itsgoing, gorgeous, healthy, wonderful take home babies. Absolutely over the moon for both of you Grin Gives us all hope.

I'm also in the scan club for the 11th Bertie! Will be 10+5. Had my booking apt this morning, what an awful lot of waiting! And by strange happenstance, the same midwife who did my last and only previous booking apt. She was very nice. Found out more about how care will continue, all being well, with the RMC and the normal unit. Got 12 week scan booked in for 26th.

Not long to go hotcookie! So exciting.

Really good luck for tomorrow natasha. So hope everything's going well for you.

BertieBotts · 29/03/2018 14:23

Yay, how exciting!

I am so relieved that we now have a 4 day weekend. I plan to catch up on all of my sleep. I just have to go and teach a 1.5 hour class first without dropping off. But all of my students this afternoon are men, most of them are fathers and they are utterly charmed by the fact I am pregnant, it's really sweet of them actually!

Thank you @anne I went for my scan today and they couldn’t see anything. They said it’s either just too early I’m (4wks 5 days) or it’s an unknown location and gave me a leaflet even though I know everything about that as I’ve had 2 before. They took my bloods and my hcg is 255 and my progesterone is 22 and she said this is normal for the week that I’m on so I have another blood test on Saturday. I’m praying it doubles!!! :(

@kirinm so relieved to hear about your baby. Keeping everything crossed that the bleeding isn't being caused by anything serious.

BertieBotts · 29/03/2018 22:19

4w5 is extremely early, I'm surprised that they scanned you. Hcg a much better indicator at this stage.

OP posts:
BertieBotts · 29/03/2018 22:20

255 sounds good btw although I know it's all about the doubling.

OP posts:
natashaarr · 29/03/2018 22:58

Bertie I was scanned so early because I’ve had 3 miscarriages in a row and have no children and had a lap and dye procedure last month. They wanted to make sure it was in the correct place. I guess I’ll find out more from the blood tests though at this stage. Fingers crossed it doubles by Saturday!

BertieBotts · 29/03/2018 23:58

Yes that makes sense, I've just never had one before 5 weeks and even then they are full of warnings that we might not see anything. I think the earliest I've seen anything was 5+2 and it was only a sac at that stage. Your hCG usually needs to be something like 1,500 for anything to be visible on a scan so don't worry if it's a few days!
