If we can't be positive about the weather what can we be? Grin

Thank you @kirinm that’s kind of you to reply. I haven’t been pregnant for a year and I seem to have forgotten everything. I’ve also had a bunch of pregnancies and no babies as yet so don’t have a “normal” to compare to. As a never normally anxious person it’s shredding me thinking of how to deal with the panics that lie ahead, even if it all goes okay.

It’s not as bad as period pain or extreme at all but it’s been there this afternoon/evening, mildly off and on.

Only other symptoms are massive boobs and super smell. It seems too early for anything to be moving or changing in there!

Congratulations @LisaSimpsonsbff!

@Star88 that's fantastic! So pleased for you.

I have my 20 week scan on Friday, and I'm terrified. I'm not sleeping, I have heart palpitations and tachycardia, and my anxiety is through the roof. Really struggling with the worry Sad.

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 28/02/2018 21:51

I'm a bit miffed they tried it. She said herself that the machine wasn't the best 😕

@LisaSimpsonsbff what lovely news Smile

@Anne I tried to have a few cups of water while waiting but clearly it didn't matter ^^

LisaSimpsonsbff · 28/02/2018 22:14

Thanks for the nice messages!

Huge congratulations on the bfp star!

I'm really sorry you're feeling so anxious, flatwhite - I also found that I was very, very upset and worried about this scan, so I don't have any words of wisdom to offer except to say that I hope that this horrible time before the scan passes as quickly as possible for you. Will be thinking of you on Friday.

My local hospital also seems to be oddly (and apparently unusually) reluctant to perform transvaginal scans - I had one at 6+4 (though they did an abdominal first) but abdominal at 8+4 and from then onwards.

notparticularlypatient · 28/02/2018 22:17

Great scan news @LisaSimpsonsbff, @UnicornsandRainbows1 and @Slomi!
And hopefully all will be well with your scan as well @Flatwhite32, so sorry you're feeling so anxious. Thinking of you.

@Slomi quite a few of us has been on cyclogest for a while. I had to take it for the first ten weeks since this is an ivf pregnancy. It's fine, really, but causes a lot of bloating for most people. I looked properly pregnant at eight weeks, it was a joke. It's just additional progesterone, so it may make other symptoms a bit worse.

@MsJuniper so glad to hear that all was well. And a month from now your baby will be here, that must be so amazing to think of! At 18 weeks it still feels far away, I find, but the baby has started kicking so that does make it more real.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 28/02/2018 22:25

I didn't see your question about cyclogest, slomi - I took this from 7dpo until 12 weeks. Like notparticularly I found that I bloated really badly, and the extra discharge was also a bit unpleasant at times, but I didn't have any particularly horrid side effects from it, just annoying ones.

Slomi · 01/03/2018 07:08

Thanks @notparticularly and @Lisa. This is all very new to me so it's great to know others experience and it will all be worth it if it helps the baby :).

coastalchick · 01/03/2018 07:19

Great news on scan @lisa

keeponrunning85 · 01/03/2018 07:52

Anne for all my dildo cams I've had to have an empty bladder. I'm so glad you're here.

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 01/03/2018 09:23

@keeponrunning85 That's made my morning 😂

MsJuniper · 01/03/2018 11:25

So glad someone else calls it a dildocam!

GreyCloudsToday · 01/03/2018 11:59

Yay Lisa!

Flatwhite mine's on Friday too and absolutely bricking it. DH had mistakenly told me it was today so I'd got all worked up about it already. Crossing fingers massively.

Congrats Anne and Star!

AnneLovesGilbert · 01/03/2018 13:19

BlueeSpottyTiger · 01/03/2018 13:32

Omg i call it dildocam too 😂 always makes me laugh

BertieBotts · 01/03/2018 14:09

Grah, moan of the day - because I didn't get a midwife before about 8 weeks I now probably can't get one.

Lots of discussion on my local mum's group this morning - they are all being v kind and reassuring, but I just feel crap that I didn't get there in time and I am worrying about preparation for the birth.

Everything gets booked up so far in advance. I just feel crap about it. Now people are going on about me choosing a hospital and booking birth discussion sessions "before it's too late!" and I just want to go and hide in bed. I haven't even had the anatomy scan yet! What about when they tell me my baby has three heads and we have to terminate. I don't want to have the birth all planned. I don't want to know about it. I was thinking I'd start looking at birth stuff at about 30 weeks, not 14. The whole thing feels all rushed and ridiculous and I don't want it. I wish they would just allocate me a midwife like they do at home :(

Wishing you (very last minute) luck and good wishes, bluee!

That's rubbish that it all has to be done so early, bertie, and I can see how it's really anxiety inducing. I had a major block about my booking-in appointment, and then panicking that I'd left it so late that I wouldn't get a 12 week scan. Is there any way that you can book these 'birth discussions' now, but make the actual appointments for later - after your anatomy scan, at least?

BlueeSpottyTiger · 01/03/2018 17:27

He appears to be all healthy at 19+5 :)
So happy and relieved. I Feel like i can relax abit more now. Xx

Just over 27 weeks now, and bubba wriggles.
Next week is my 28 week scan and the first one they can check for zika. I am convinced they'll find something wrong and I keep trying to work out my options and what our next step will be.
This pregnancy has made it 20 weeks further than any of my previous, so I'm just waiting for the inevitable. I know if there was going to be a happy ending I'd be able to visualise it by now, or things would feel real.

Wonderful news bluee - congratulations!

zaa I'm so sorry you're feeling so anxious. I don't know whether it helps - and I know I'm a way behind you - but DH and I were discussing this morning how 'unreal' it feels to both of us and I don't think that's uncommon, and I definitely don't think it's a bad sign. When you look back to the beginning of this pregnancy, could you imagine then that you'd have a good 12 or 20 week scan? I think it's always hard to imagine getting a step further than you have; I remember when I just couldn't imagine getting a positive on a pregnancy test, and that's exactly how I feel about having an actual baby now. But one of those turned out to be possible, so why not the other?

zaalitje · 01/03/2018 18:34

No blood test, realised too late for that and were outside the timeframe at the point we got a bfp!
Extra scans are for other reasons that right now are quiet whilst I drive myself crazy with zika anxiety.

Lisa, you're right, I couldn't see the 12 week scan or a positive outcome to 20 weeks. I'm just used to odds going against me, at least three separate occasions I've been told there's less than a 1% chance of X, and then X has happened. All unrelated events too.
I wish I could sleep the next 8 weeks away

That's wonderful @BlueeSpottyTiger - lovely to see.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 01/03/2018 18:45

I totally get that, and I'm not going to tell you that everything will be ok because a) you won't believe me and b) you're right, I don't know that and no one does. What I am really certain of, though, is that not being able to see a happy ending is the result of the trauma you've already been through, not a prediction of the future.
