Can someone direct me to the March thread please? Or shall we start a new one? I feel like the old one has completely disappeared into the depths of the mumsnet sea.

We're getting close now and wanted to see how everyone was as I'm due the 7th Smile

All the best to you all lovely pregnant ladies

Any news @kelly14?

blinkineckmum · 14/03/2018 09:07

Oh I don't know VickyLou! I am like you. I've had Braxton Hicks for hours every day for 3 weeks now. These ones are more period pain like though... but very sporadic and manageable. I'm starting to wonder if it'll ever happen! Sorry to hear about the 3yo wakings. My husband had our 4yo and our 2yo in with him last night as I went to the spare room... they both have coughs too... roll on Spring!

blinkineckmum · 14/03/2018 09:08

By the way, my 2nd was born at 37+4. I am 39+1 today. You could still beat me!

MrsL2016 · 14/03/2018 09:27

Congratulations on the 2 new arrivals and our first boy! Not a lot happening here, due on Sat. I keep moving between wanting things to start and not minding that they aren't just yet as I have a busy few days ahead.

Crapbags · 14/03/2018 10:08

Big congratulations to all those who have their babies alreadyFlowersSmile

I’m only 38+4 but DC1 & DC2 both came early around week 39 so feel like not long left but this one will probably throw a curve ball and be really late!

For those of you that are on 2nd 3rd pregnancy’s I’m wondering did your labours all start in a similar way? Both my previous labours have started with the ‘bloody show’ first and contractions starting a couple of hours or so later. I’m finding myself on high alert for the ‘show’ every time I go to the loo! But wary of convincing myself that this one will be the same.

I’m like you @MrsL2016 torn between thinking wanting things to get going and then thinking but I still need time for this and that.....

@Potteryprincess30 how are you doing?

blinkineckmum · 14/03/2018 11:47

Crapbags, mine were born at 38+5 and 37+4. I am 39+1 today and thought it was starting but seems to have stopped!

First labour started with the show, then backache a few hours later, then contractions.

Second started with waters. Show came before contractions but I can't remember if it was before or after the waters.

1st and 2nd were very different labours and births. I don't know what to expect for no3! But it's already different as I've had loads of Braxton Hicks which I didn't have with the others.

GWeatherwax · 14/03/2018 13:10

Congratulations @Jjpeston and @Ro2017 Grin

40+6 here, no signs. Just had last midwife appointment, tried a sweep but not dilated at all yet. Head still not engaged either (3/5). Argh!

GWeatherwax · 14/03/2018 13:12

I've never heard of an irritable uterus @Vickylou78 but that doesn't sound like fun!

MissTFied · 14/03/2018 19:19

Congratulations to you @Ro2017 and @Jjpeston. Hope you are enjoying your new arrivals and getting some rest.

I hope you are ok @potteryprincess. We are worried about you.

Ragdolly81 · 15/03/2018 01:57

I am due Saturday to. Can't wait for it all to begin I keep hoping she will arrive soon my elder kids are at the dads till Sunday so would be nice to go before then. Got my induction date for the 27th really dont want to still be pregnant in 2 weeks. I had a sweep on tuesday but apart from 6 hours of contractions nothing to show for it. I am so excited to go into labor scared aswell was never scared with my other little ones. (I say little ones I have a 18 ,14 and 5 year old so some not so little lol) I do have painful braxton hicks and lots of pressure in bottom and pelvis. Got told she is engaged and I was 3 cm on Tuesday but not holding out my hopes for a arrival any time soon.

blinkineckmum · 15/03/2018 04:43

Baby girl born last night. Awful birth but she is perfect!

MrsL2016 · 15/03/2018 06:23

Congratulations @kelly14 and @blinkineckmum! So happy for you that your babies are here. Sorry to hear it wasn't a great birth though blinkin. Hopefully no lasting issues and you can enjoy your baby. Engaged and 3cm sounds promising @ragdolly81, hopefully you are well on your way.

HazyDays81 · 15/03/2018 06:56

Congratulations @kelly14 - your little baby must seem tiny! I love the name. Hope you recover well.

Congratulations @blinkineckmum! Sorry to hear it was an awful labour. Enjoy your perfect baby girl. Do you have a name?

@Ragdolly81 sounds like it won’t be too much longer for you. Must be frustrating to have 6hrs of contractions & then they stop.

@potteryprincess like other posters have said please let us know you’re ok, thinking of you.

My due date is today! Felt quite uncomfortable yesterday. Woken up today with low back pain. Really glad DH is off today & can do the school & play school run. I’m going back to bed with my breakfast & a book!

Twitchett22 · 15/03/2018 09:00

Congratulations to you all on your babys and i hope its not too long for the rest of you. I cant tell you what a relief it is to not have to pay attention to every single niggle and pain to wonder if its labour starting! Not stopped snuggling my baby girl for the last 4 days and she's worth every second of shitty pregnancy. Love to you all, hang on in there Flowers

Ragdolly81 · 15/03/2018 09:17

Congrats on all the new arrivals. Can I ask has anyone ever gone through labor on there own. I was all disappointed cause my contractions stopped on Tuesday but now I am hoping she hangs on a whole while longer my auntie who is my only close family has been diagnosed with aussie flu she was going to be my birth partner. I don't have any friends or other family and the baby's dad is a defo no no so (due to domestic abuse which is also why I have no friends and stuff) so was wondering if anyone has had to do it alone and is it more scary or anything I am so worried now. I hope my auntie is ok obviously but now I am panicking I might have to so this alone.

Vickylou78 · 15/03/2018 09:53

@ragdolly81 oh you poor thing! But please don’t panic as the midwifes will totally look after you! They will just pay you extra attention and sit with you and suspect you’ll feel like best mates with your midwife by the end! Try not to worry. It may be your auntie is better by birth day too.

Ragdolly81 · 15/03/2018 11:46

Thanks I think I am just going into panic mode cause I feel so close to the big day and I am so nervous as it is then things go wrong. My older kids dad offered to take her place but as much as that is kind of him somehow I think his partner who has not long given birth herself might not be happy with that and I don't want to start trouble there for him. Especially since I am counting on them having the older kids whilst I am in labor. I am keeping my fingers crossed now that I go over a bit give my auntie time to get well.

blinkineckmum · 15/03/2018 12:24

Do you have a friend who could stand in? The midwives are always amazing but the extra support might be nice.
Thanks for all the congrats. In shock I think after such a rough night. And I know recovery won't be easy. But so grateful for our NHS!

Ragdolly81 · 15/03/2018 13:23

No there is nobody else I will be fine just had a bit of a wobble I think. The nhs can be amazing I am very grateful it exists at least u have ur new little puddle of joy to snuggle now I am a bit jealous haha can't wait to meet my little girl and just hold her. I have all boys so its exciting and frightening having a girl so use to the boys and there fights and being all loud and ruff. And a bit worried about nappies never changed a girl haha

Scoobygang7 · 15/03/2018 13:27

@Ragdolly81 I had to labour alone on the 5/6th of this month with my lb due to us having no childcare thanks to the storm meaning I couldn't get to hospital or pick my mum up from the airport to look after my eldest.

I requested to stay in the Monday night after pre op so we didn't have to drag my lb to and from the hospital an hour away to drop me off for surgery.

The staff were great I was due for my elective section at 11am on the 6th. However I'd just had my 10 pm meds and pre op drinks at 10:30pm and started with heavy pressure and pain down below. Called the staff (poor things I was meant to be no trouble and they should have been able to close the curtain round me while I slept and not know I was there). They gave me paracetamol and a birthing ball and I had a wonderful student midwife stay with me. The pains increased and at midnight they gave me some di-hydracodeine and placed me on the monitor. Asked if I was happy to be examined after 45 mind especially as the pain relief wasn't really helping. I believed that though I was in pain it wasn't any effective contractions, yet I was wrong I was 4cms. They moved me to labour ward who were also amazing. I did eventually need an emergency section as he's gone back to back and wanted to look where he was going so was face first not crown first.

The staff were amazing I'd chosen an elective as I didn't cope well in labour with my first with my partner and mum there. However even after having to mentally come to terms with actually labouring with just staff there and then another emcs. I honestly feel I had a brilliant birth and couldn't have done it without the staff.

Ragdolly81 · 15/03/2018 13:43

Thaws great to hear that it was so lovely. I think I am just over thinking everything I have anxiety as it so just went into a melt down. But its so good to hear other ppls stories makes me feel better about it all. I have been panicking over everything lately as I get closer to my due date and not having a partner to take some of the stress and worry hasn't helped my ex the older kids dad has tried to help me and keep me calm even though his new partner doesn't like me and I am grateful but can't keep moaning at him I don't want o start any trouble for him. I know I will be fine just had a wobble this morning when heard. Going to have a nice a walk I think then try and focus on sorting the house out ready while there is no other kids to destroy it here Haha. Thank you everyone I really appreciate your kind words it does help to have other ppl saying it will be ok. U have all helped me calm down and I feel more at ease about it now really thank you all

blinkineckmum · 15/03/2018 14:01

Wow well done Scoobygang. That's a great story. You will be fine Ragdolly. The midwives are just so good in every situation. I was so grateful last night and so well looked after.

Vickylou78 · 15/03/2018 14:08

@ragdolly81 it’s ok you are alright to have a little panic without a partner to help you and take the pressure off. Must be really hard with all the hormones flying about too. Try keep yourself busy and like I said the midwifes will help you, the NHS really is great and if you are lucky there will be a nice student midwife who can help you out. Also you can have your phone with you and could call your auntie/other relatives on the phone for the early bit when you can talk! We will all be here too! Good luck x
