Can someone direct me to the March thread please? Or shall we start a new one? I feel like the old one has completely disappeared into the depths of the mumsnet sea.

We're getting close now and wanted to see how everyone was as I'm due the 7th Smile

All the best to you all lovely pregnant ladies

@hazydays81 @blinkineck @sammy891 @jjpeston thank you so much for your good wishes. Am still thinking of names but Olivia is definitely up there. She’s doing well on the boob and yes the newborn smell is absolutely scrummy!

blinkineckmum · 12/03/2018 22:23

Olivia is a beautiful name!

blinkineckmum · 12/03/2018 22:24

Where is PotteryPrincess?

Jjpeston · 12/03/2018 23:17

@Ozziewozzie - Hope your induction is going ok/ is actually going. Good luck!! X

I’m having a c section tommorow ( 39+2) as baby breech and unstable lie, they just keep turning! Previous emergency section and baby is on small side after growth scans at 35 and 37 weeks (although I know this is rarely right!)
Can’t wait to find out what I’m having ! Can’t believe this day is finally come around! when my daughter (12) comes up hospital we have either a little brother or little sister outfit and she will get to find out herself as won’t tell her over phone and she has moaned whole pregnancy to find out lol can’t wait to see her face x
Feeling so anxious and excited and don’t think I will be sleeping tonight!
Congratulations to everyone else also xxxx

MrsL2016 · 13/03/2018 07:19

Good luck with your c section @kelly14. And I hope everyone else who is in early labour/being induced is getting okay. Nothing happening here but only 39+3. Think I may be the last one on the thread to give birth at this rate.

TheMrs04 · 13/03/2018 07:29

@thaigreencurry82 congratulations!! Olivia is a lovely name!!

@Jjpeston curry didn't work! Ended up having an early night last night at 7pm and dh has only just woken me up! My body knows I need the sleep before it's all begins! This baby is laying with his back sticking out so I'm guessing he's managed to find the right spot ready for birth the pressure is intense! Here's hoping today is the day 🤞🏻

Good luck to all hope there's more news of babies today!! ❤️

TheMrs04 · 13/03/2018 07:30

@MrsL2016 that's exactly how I feel!! This slow labour is annoying! Here's wishing you the birth of your baby soon 😊 x

GWeatherwax · 13/03/2018 08:32

Olivia is a lovely name :-)

Good luck for your section @kelly14 how exciting!

I hope you don't have too long to wait now @Jjpeston, @TheMrs04 - and @MrsL2016 I wouldn't bet on it, sods law I'll have to wait for my induction at 41+5!

Lavenderdays · 13/03/2018 10:09

Wishing you all the best for your C-section Kelly x

I am currently 38 weeks and an induction has been discussed for next week (at 39 weeks) due to my age etc. It keeps me focused thinking...pregnancy will be over by next week (I have moaned all the way through it) and find myself really struggling. This is dc3 for me so know what to expect in terms of having a newborn around. However, I've not been induced or had an epidural which I'm considering as part of the induction process (will discuss with consultant tomorrow). Anyone else had an epidural or an induction?

blinkineckmum · 13/03/2018 10:39

My first was back-to-back and after 18 hours they put me on the drip and epidural. The epidural was a godsend at that point. I could top up as I wished. He was born 6 hours later with the help of ventouse.

HalfStar · 13/03/2018 12:48

I had epidural for my first. It was absolutely wonderful after hours of pain! I'd say consider it so they have it ready and if you don't need it that's fine too. Since it's dc3 it's probably less likely to slow down pushing etc? Your body will have done it before.

Good luck!

Thanks Blink and Halfstar. Yes, I'm gearing up for requesting it, I've printed off some pros and cons to discuss with the consultant on Thursday. It looks like the way to go with induction via drip but it is completely new territory for me. I do worry that I won't be able to feel when to push and the baby might needs assistance. Always managed with gas and air...but I think I was traumatised a bit from dd1's birth...so realise this is not always the way to go.

blinkineckmum · 13/03/2018 15:21

Good luck with the impending inductions! Nice to know you'll be holding those babies soon. Pushing with an epidural is definitely preferable to without! I've done both... though ventouse recovery was worse. I think that was more to do with his position than the epidural though.
Will this thread be full by the time mine finally arrives?

Vickylou78 · 13/03/2018 17:28

Lavender days - I had epidural with my dd’s birth. Was really amazing to have some pain free hours (she was back to back so was pretty painful before the epidural) but downside was I couldn’t feel any contractions so found pushing hard as had to be told when to push and then I think it ran out at end or didn’t work all the way down my body as I could feel everything down below with regard to crowning and forceps delivery and sorry if tmi but felt like I was pushing my ass inside out! And had to have gas and air as well for them do the stitching up after. So for me was good and bad! I think probably if you are being induced it may be good to have some pain free contractions...maybe just gave a chat to midwifes about it and decide on the day.

Good luck everyone!

Ro2017 · 14/03/2018 00:10

Hi all, just a little update to say our beautiful daughter Lily was born at home in the water at 9.14 this morning. 7lbs 8oz for pure gorgeousness 😍
We had a loooooong latent phase (24 hours at least) so it was a bit if a slog but my amazing mum, OH and doula helped so much. Only a tiny tear that didn't need stitches in the end.
Good luck to those of you still waiting and just know that soon you will be cuddling your gorgeous bundles. Xxx

Jjpeston · 14/03/2018 04:38

@Ro2017 How amazing - congrats on beautiful Lily's birth!

I also gave birth - last night in hospital after a 5 hour labour - all in all a really positive and happy birth despite some problems removing placenta at the end (almost had to have surgery) and a worry about pre eclampsia right beforehand.

Beautiful perfect little Rufus (a boy!) born at 8pm weighing 7 pounds 5. So happy and in awe of him. Introducing him to his sis in a few hours - will be the happiest moment of my life. X

HazyDays81 · 14/03/2018 06:13

Many congratulations Ro2017 & Jipeston so lovely to hear your babies have arrived!

I’ve been awake in the night with period type pain & Braxton Hicks, not sure if it’s the start of anything or whether it’ll disappear but I feel like my body is getting ready. Due date is tomorrow!

TheMrs04 · 14/03/2018 07:36

Congratulations @Jjpeston and @Ro2017
Beautiful names!!!

I'm still hanging on for now!! Keeping myself busy with the preparations of ds1 2nd birthday!(it's only a month away 😬)

Hoping there will be more baby news today!! Although I am envious it's not me just yet!!

blinkineckmum · 14/03/2018 08:13

Congratulations all round. Great news! Good luck HazyDays... I'm the same. I can't decide whether I'm ok to drive the kids to childcare or not. If not dp has to miss work, and what if it's a false alarm?

HazyDays81 · 14/03/2018 08:42

blinkineckmum the pains I had in the night seem to have tailed off now but I still feel uncomfortable. Luckily my DH is off today & tomorrow so would be ideal if it happened soon! At least he can do the school runs. Wishing you lots of luck!

blinkineckmum · 14/03/2018 08:45

Thanks. Mine are contractions I think but very manageable and not very long. No idea if they will disappear or ramp up. I think I won't drive the 30 min round trip just in case, though that will probably jinx it...

sammy891 · 14/03/2018 08:53

Congratulations @Jjpeston and @Ro2017!! Good luck to everyone else x

Vickylou78 · 14/03/2018 08:59

Congratulations on the new babies this morning!! I agree they are lovely names.

Hazy days and blinkineck I sympathise with you both. I’m sleeping terrible due to pgp and continuous Braxton Hicks (I’ve got what they call an irritable uterus so literally getting bh tightenings every 7 mins and it goes on for hours on end most days). This is bad enough but my 3 year old is poorly with a cough and cold so we are up seeing to her 4 times a night!
But I think you are both further along than me (I’m only 37+4) so guessing your pains aren’t bh and you may be in prelabour? Hopefully some movement soon! Good luck!!

Pottery princess? Where are you? Hope ok?
