Potteryprincess30 · 09/01/2018 08:30

Can someone direct me to the March thread please? Or shall we start a new one? I feel like the old one has completely disappeared into the depths of the mumsnet sea.

We're getting close now and wanted to see how everyone was as I'm due the 7th Smile

All the best to you all lovely pregnant ladies

@ragdolly81 definite baby brain going on there thenGrin how many DC’s do you have?

HazyDays81 · 16/03/2018 20:08

crapbags that’s funny we have the same age gaps! I think it will work well as youngest DS starts school in Sept & then I’ll have some time with DS3 before going back to work.

My due date was yesterday! I was 7 days & 8 days over with my DS’s so I guess may be similar. For some reason I thought I’d be early this time...

ragdolly81 yes do let us know about the clary sage!

Hopefully there won’t be too much snow. Normally I love snow but definitely not when heavily pregnant.

Ragdolly81 · 16/03/2018 20:08

I have 3 DS's one is 18 in April one is 14 and one is 5. I defo have baby brain I rang my auntie just to let her know I am ok and I started looking round the room thinking I could hear someone saying hello forgot I had the phone to my ear Haha I am so losing it. Guess its a good job I haven't cooked today with my brain being like it is lol.

Crapbags · 16/03/2018 20:16

@ragdolly81 that is funnyGrin

@HazyDays81 same here DS will start school September too so hoping that will give me some nice one on one time with the new baby. How are you feeling about the birth? Despite having done it twice before I feel quite nervous...I’ve had a couple of midwives comment that baby no.3 can be tricky?!

How was your 3rd labour @ragdolly81 ?

Ragdolly81 · 16/03/2018 20:22

My 3rd labor was the easiest I was walking around the delivery room to keep active and I ember saying I can feelings head his dad was oh don't be daft I forced him to get someone and a student midwife came in and she said I was right she could see him I had him on all fours and I would recommend it to anyone being on all fours was the easiest and least painful I have ever delivered a baby before. The student midwife was made up as she hadn't had a chance to deliver a baby before so she kept coming back to see him she was fantastic

HazyDays81 · 16/03/2018 20:23

Haha that made me laugh ragdolly81

crapbags I’ve also heard people saying third labours can be unpredictable. I’m feeling pretty nervous to be honest. I know I can do it having done it twice before but keep thinking of what is to come! Ideally I’d like to try a water birth this time but we’ll see.

HazyDays81 · 16/03/2018 20:25

ragdolly81 that’s reassuring your 3rd labour went well. I also gave birth to my second DS on all fours, much easier than my first with feet in stirrups! X

Ragdolly81 · 16/03/2018 20:31

I had my first with my legs in those things worst birth I have had. I washing labor a long time with all mine but think that's just me. I am hoping this one will be quicker due to all the braxtons and losing my plug and stuff as never had any of this before. Don't want it to be to quick though I am 30-40 mins away from the hospital. I am nervous though as never had a girl before so everything is new to me. Plus I have had so many problems through out this pregnancy so bit worried. Up until 37 weeks I was told I would need a c section and pos historectomy as she was breech and I had a low lying placenta now I have spd aswell. Think this is defo my last now. I am only small so its taking its toll on my body quite a lot. But I still wouldn't change it all cant wait to meet her.

Crapbags · 16/03/2018 20:35

Ah that is reassuring thanks @ragdolly81 I too gave birth to DS on all fours and yep it definitely made for an easier birth.

@Hazydays81 I had DD in the water and it was lovely.....I really liked that I was able to feel lighter than on dry land.... I had hoped for the same with DS but he was big so they advised an out of water birth I laboured in water but got out when pushing. I’m hoping to be able to get back in the water with this one too!

blinkineckmum · 16/03/2018 20:35

I was given Clary Sage during the pushing stage as my contractions were stopping. It must work.

Ragdolly81 · 16/03/2018 20:41

Your welcome. I do hope the clary sage works I don't want to go to far over I don't know if i could cope. My 5 year old is a handful he never stays still not even for 5 mins so need to get back to being able to run around after him lol. I am 40 weeks tomorrow and got my induction date for the 27th but so want to just go now. Lol. Never thought I would be wishing the pain of labor to hurry up haha

Crapbags · 16/03/2018 20:59

That’s interesting @blinkineckmum how was it given to you?

How’s your lovely baby doing? Have you named her yet? Also if you don’t mind me asking has your milk ‘come in’ yet? I only ask as I will have to top up feed this baby due to a risk of him having a genetic condition (which my DS2 has) which requires very careful monitoring of feeds....I’m hoping my milk won’t take to long to ‘come in’ but for the life of me I can’t remember how long it took before!?

blinkineckmum · 16/03/2018 21:34

They put some on a bit of paper and stuck it to my collar bone so it was waving under my nose. The baby is doing brilliantly thanks and we came home this evening.
Her name is Megan. Weirdly I think my milk came in instantly. She feeds so well and has done from straight away.

blinkineckmum · 16/03/2018 21:35

I think they normally say day 4 for the milk to come in.

Crapbags · 17/03/2018 06:56

Ah that’s lovely @blinkineckmum great name:) glad your home now. Hopefully my milk will be quick to arrive too.

GWeatherwax · 17/03/2018 09:23

Congratulations @LoveRainbow02 and I hope I haven't missed out anyone else!

9 days over here, no signs and pretty miserable.

Ragdolly81 · 17/03/2018 10:18

9 days over oh dear I feel ur pain I am due today and its killing me. I just ordered a shop from asda in the hopes that sods law will work lol figured if I order a delivery I might just go into labor and have to cancel it lol. Can't wait for my clay sage oil to turn up so I can try that aswell. My auntie thinks I might go because its meant to snow and it will make it harder to get to the hospital so again that being sods law haha

GWeatherwax · 17/03/2018 10:41

Haha yes, we're trying sods law too! About to go into Asda (usually get a delivery) because I'd be mortified if waters broke in public Grin DH thinks sods law could happen resulting in him missing the rugby (doubt it) so you never know! We had a few flakes earlier but apart from being bloody cold, nothing since.

Ragdolly81 · 17/03/2018 10:46

Haha fingers crossed for you. I would be mortified if my waters went in public too so I keep going the shop by mine haha. Fingers crossed for sods law

Vickylou78 · 17/03/2018 11:38

Ah 9 days over! I feel for you too! I’m only 38 weeks and I’m miserable and going crazy! I went 10 days over with my first though so I know how you feel! Hopefully soon!! I think the statistics are in your favour now to have it literally any day now!

Jjpeston · 17/03/2018 13:42

I also gave birth on all fours they had this new mat in the room like a big yoga mat was really comfy and they also had a plastic beanbag they gave me to lie my front half on which helped. Definitely a good way to give birth I think.

I also had Clary Sage at the pushing stage which I felt helped - you can buy your own essential oil and put it on a small towel / flannel if you don't think your hospital provides it. My number one tip for labour, having just done it is to relax - I almost lost it with the pain a few times (it was quite a quick labour - under 6 hours and only gas and air at the end) - the midwives kept saying 'you are safe' and that helped me so much. Maybe say that mantra to yourself if it helps anyone... good luck to all those waiting! X

Vickylou78 · 17/03/2018 14:02

That’s good advice @jjpeston. Fingers crossed for a quick and active birth this time. Think on all 4s does make perfect sense.

Where is pottery princess? If you are reading this I really hope you are ok?

Jjpeston · 17/03/2018 16:42

I'm also very much thinking of my due date twin @Potteryprincess30 - pls let us know you're ok if you're reading.

Ragdolly81 · 17/03/2018 18:47

Well is far after using the clary sage oil my braxtons are back strong and the pressure down below has got worse but nothing else yet so far except the need to go the toilet a lot. But hoping sods law works aswell as its snowing here so you never know lol. Feel like I am getting a cold aswell and keep getting random hiccups but don't think I can put that down to the oil

HazyDays81 · 17/03/2018 20:41

That sounds promising Ragdolly81 I’m also having lots of Braxton Hicks & pressure down below (always worse in the evening?!)

GWeatherwax - hope your little one doesn’t keep you waiting too much longer. Do you have an induction date?
