Hi there,

Does anyone feel like a chat?

Age: 34
TTC: 11 months
Due: July 2018

I had vivid dreams in the two week wait. Since BFP I've just had mildly sensitive boobs.

My colleague has just announced his wife is pregnant, they've just had their first scan, I can't help but feel he's stolen my thunder a little bit!

Just in case I gave anyone false hope with my no sickness and more awake post; 11 weeks today, one of the first things I did this morning was vomit 🙄, then spent the day knackered. Hooray pregnancy ay?

Subo2018 · 05/12/2017 07:45

Morning! Hope you don't mind me joining. First pregnancy which was planned but happened a lot quicker than expected. I think we are both in a bit of shock. We are due 10th August (according to first day of last period). It's still early days but hoping everything goes well. Did anyone get nervous telling their parents? (Myself and partner are 27 and living in our own place so not sure why I am nervous) did you all wait till after your first scan? Smile

LMX0 · 05/12/2017 10:27

@meow1989 awww poor you!!! Everyday is so different
@Subo2018 welcome and congrats!!! No i havnt told any parents yet as i want to wait until the scan as i know my mum would be so excited and let slip and his mum cant keep her gob shut and im enjoying not many knowing atm 😊

Blair86 · 05/12/2017 19:12

@Subo2018 hi and congrats! Early days for us too, but we will be telling our families at Christmas as obviously I won't be drinking. Will be almost 8 weeks at that point, hopefully it'll be ok.

On a similar note, I have no idea what I'm going to do about alcohol at my work Xmas do! It's a sit down lunch in a private room, and wine will be ordered for the table, so not much chance to sneakily order my own drink. I am thinking of saying I've had a stomach bug in the night so am avoiding wine as too acidic, and then ordering plain tonics for myself if I can? Small workplace, and I'm usually a drinker, AND it's christmas so people might guess/comment but I really don't want them to! I think antibiotics is too obvious! Has anyone else had this issue with their work party yet?

Subo2018 · 05/12/2017 20:15

I didn't even think about the Xmas work party! Well we told the parents and they were so happy so that's a bunch of stress off my mind :). Fingers and toes crossed this goes smoothly :).

carringtonm · 05/12/2017 23:33

@Blair86 Yes, had it two weeks ago. Such a wonderful experience. DP and I were mesmerised! Got our 20 week scan on 24th Jan.

LMX0 · 06/12/2017 15:24

MummaEls · 06/12/2017 15:52

MCP86 · 10/12/2017 16:25

Heyyyyy!

I read through the thread and just had to join!
I'm 11 weeks tomorrow!
Can't wait for the scan, but feeling rather anxious.

Had been off contraception for 5 years. Actively trying for 3-4 years.
Was convinced something was wrong with me, but was told everything looks good.
This promoted my partner to get test done (He has 2 from previous relationship).
November 2016 they said his sperm wasn't progressive.
July 2017 they said he had no sperm! (Which could be due to underlying health issues).
We had been waiting for appointment with the specialist in December....only to find out in October that I'm pregnant!!!
Surreal is an understatement!!!
I'm ecstatic but convinced something will go wrong.

We've told our mums and our best friends.
Scan is on 19th, so fingers crossed that all is well, i plan to tell others on Xmas day.

I'd say my most "annoying" symptoms are blurred vision (i convinced myself that i was going blind) and constantly feeling hungry (I wasn't much of a big eater before now).

Oh gosh! I've typed a lot! Let me go for now lol.
But! Congratulations to all of us!!!!

LMX0 · 10/12/2017 17:41

@MCP86 welcome & a massive congrats!!! Sounds like youve had a very rough time of it the past few years!!! Awww your scan is so close i bet you are so excited!!! I bet your mums & bf were over the moon for you!!

MCP86 · 10/12/2017 18:18

Thank you!!!!
Don't know how, but managed to be calm over the last year, i guess knowing that there was an issue, what it could possibly me and maybe a solution kept me positive.
I stopped stressing about baby making during ovulation period, anticipated every period (maybe that helped me concieve).
Mum's and bf's are over the moon! We've been together over 7 years, so I guess people have been "waiting".

peachesarenom · 10/12/2017 18:49

MCP86 massive congrats! I too got my BFP when I was in the process of getting a fertility referral! You've waited longer though. I'm super happy for you.

I have my next appt on Thurs, diabetes check.

LMX0 tmi I had the longest pee today! Breasts still sore. My sickness is just the occassional retching so far. I can't sleep on my front anymore. I feel like there is a baloon in my belly and it's gonna burst if I sleep on my belly!

Ive heard of people before once the stress is off it happened and the fact of something possibly being wrong with either of you probably gave u a little comfort as to why it hadn't happened yet im sure your still in shock!!!
I thought i had been ruled out in nov was waiting on AF but she didnt come but i had all the usual signs but they were starting to ease so i thought id do a test just to rule it out and was expecting the usual BFN i near died when i seen the two lines!!!

LMX0 · 11/12/2017 08:19

@peachesarenom how far on are you now? Ive noticed my tummy becoming a little harder and feel a little bigger today and hello spots!!! Lol

peachesarenom · 11/12/2017 08:50

@LMX0 I'm about 8 weeks. I'm just finding it quite difficult to sleep. Gonna buy one of those posh preggo pillows today.

May I join you all please?
FTM, 39, due June 1st. 16 weeks
Not planned, didn't think we were doing this! But I didn't think we were getting married either. Hubby delighted, I'm still in shock a bit but happy. Suffering from lethargy and nausea since week 5 Angryno bump yet, but have eaten more carbs in last three months than I have all year, which is making me feel gross! But plain hula hoops and weatbix are my go to snacks!
Joined another on line group but they were all talking about how amazing they feel, which made me sad, envious and actually wondering are they for real??!!
Still haven't told anyone yet scepter hubby. May tell family this week as I am so tired of making up excuses of why I am not my usual doing everything self!
Nice to meet you all, I'll catch up on all previous posts this week, have a good week xxx

peachesarenom · 11/12/2017 09:12

Welcome Duvetlover and massive congrats!

I'm having a panic, I've got a lot of dryness in my vagina, everything I've read either says this is a worry or is perfectly normal. I'm off to the drs at ten to 12...
