Hi there,

Does anyone feel like a chat?

Age: 34
TTC: 11 months
Due: July 2018

I had vivid dreams in the two week wait. Since BFP I've just had mildly sensitive boobs.

My colleague has just announced his wife is pregnant, they've just had their first scan, I can't help but feel he's stolen my thunder a little bit!

Thank you. Just getting worried over nothing like usual. 😂😂 hopefully it'll come in a couple of days then i can go from there

Daphne33 · 07/01/2018 20:49

Thanks for sharing the info regarding the testing accuracy after 14wks. My midwife didn't mention this. Hopefully at my scan, the baby will still be under 14wks. Or do u think should I call the hospital imaging dept to ask for an earlier appt? I get this sense that generally, it's quite busy and u take what u get here under the NHS.

My husband has already taken time off work for the 18th though & he hasnt told his (very nice) boss abt the pregnancy. We only intend to tell ard 16-20wks.

@Lilywhit
Glad to hear all ok with you!

I've been getting these cramps too, especially yesterday. I think they've generally been a regular feature of my pregnancy so far, I just thought they would have alleviated by now.

LMX0 · 07/01/2018 21:31

Regarding cramps and back pains according to my friend apparently you somewhat get used to it and its normal as its your body stretching

Morning all, another Monday! I thought I'd cancel my blood test for Wednesday evening and have it done at the hospital this morning, otherwise I won't get the results til probably next Monday or Tuesday. Waited an hour, couldn't stand anymore and it was going to be at least another two hours so I've come home and I'll be there for opening time tomorrow...

Ha1234 · 08/01/2018 17:56

Hi ladies,
Advice please... have any of you paid for a private scan ahead of yr 12 week scan? My 12 week one was booked in for 29th Jan and I’ve had to push it back a week as my husband is away that week so it’s now not til 5th Feb when I will be just over 12 and a half.
Has anyone had a private scan at 10 weeks and if so how much roughly does it cost? Or should I just get a grip and wait the extra week and be patient?! 🙄xx

LilyWhit · 08/01/2018 18:38

Hi there
I had a private scan at 8 weeks 3 days, it cost me £140 this May differ think it depends on who is offering the service. But was so worth it! If you have the money then it’s a chance to put your mind at rest until your 12 week.
Mines tomorrow I’m so nervous xx

Ha1234 · 08/01/2018 19:08

@LilyWhit - thank you for the info and good luck tomorrow!

LMX0 · 08/01/2018 19:34

@Brettgirl aww nightmare hopefully you have better luck tomorrow
@Ha1234 if u can afford it do it and everywhere is different u may have a clinic that has a better price i think the one beside me is £89
@LilyWhit awww good luck for tomorrow leg us know how u get on 😊

peterpanwendy · 08/01/2018 20:06

@Ha1234 I have a 10 week scan booked for Saturday, it cost £60 I'm in the south east

Jessiejuju · 08/01/2018 21:09

Hi guys firstly congrats to all.
I am 22 and was totaly caugth off gaurd when i got my bfp am now about 6.5 weeks and waiting to hear back off the midwife about booking an appointment. I am very exited but also worried as i am kind of a bigger lady and not greatly healthy so feel like im more at risk but for the most part trying not to worry and just looking forward to that first scan. Due August 30th according to online calculations.

LMX0 · 08/01/2018 21:37

@Jessiejuju congrats!! Dont be worrying about your weight my bmi is 41 and the doc & midwife never said anything about it apart from at 28 & 36 weeks ill have to be scanned because they normally measure your bump with a tape but with being heavier it would b hard to get a good measurement so just to check baby growth & they may put u on aspirn from 12 weeks as its helps the placenta do its job but apart from that the doc said im a low risk pregnancy so no reason to worry i really hope that helps as i was worried too!!

Brettgirl · 08/01/2018 21:49

I'm bigger too, with a truck load of excess skin from losing 17 stone following a gastric bypass, and the midwife didn't say anything at all x

LMX0 · 08/01/2018 22:27

@Brettgirl 17stone!!! WOW!!!!

Brettgirl · 08/01/2018 22:46

@lmxo I wouldn't be here today without it xxx

Jessiejuju · 09/01/2018 00:14

@LMXO
Thank you for your advice just been worrying alot i think most of it is because it my first time and im so afraid that im gonna mess it up and i know that my bf would be devistated if something happened but feeling better now so thanks.

misshannah · 09/01/2018 08:16

Morning all,

How is everybody?

The struggle is real today. Fatigue from my M.E. Plus pregnancy fatigue means I've slept for 12 hours and could go back to bed. Instead I'm at work with the most unsympathetic manager who thinks I'm making M.E. Up... yay.

Early scan today. Mine cost £40 in East Midlands. Fingers crossed!

Hope you all have a lovely day x

LilyWhit · 09/01/2018 08:33

Happy Tuesday guys!
I have my 12 week scan today! ( im 13 w 4 days) wish me luck and keep everything crossed for me. @misshannah

Flatwhite32 · 09/01/2018 09:59

I'm 13+4 due 14th July 2018. Couldn't believe my bfp even with throwing up every day, until I had my scan on Friday. Now it's all so real and exciting. Can't wait to meet little one Smile
