Hi there,

Does anyone feel like a chat?

Age: 34
TTC: 11 months
Due: July 2018

I had vivid dreams in the two week wait. Since BFP I've just had mildly sensitive boobs.

My colleague has just announced his wife is pregnant, they've just had their first scan, I can't help but feel he's stolen my thunder a little bit!

I had a sneaky peek online 🙊🙈 how many weeks are u now?

Brettgirl · 26/12/2017 16:33

8 and a half, when we had our scan last week she said the chances of something going wrong are greatly reduced already, especially having seen baby looking so good. Worst case scenario we have to take it back, but I'm keeping faith xxx

BuffalotheGruffalo · 26/12/2017 16:52

Did you tell your family yesterday @Brettgirl? We're they excited?
I looked up some figures on a miscarriage website and it said that seeing a heartbeat at 7 weeks means roughly a 78% change of the pregnancy progreasing well from that point so I'm taking comfort in that having seen our little Percy peanut at 7 +3 a few weeks ago.

Hope everyone had a lovely, sick free christmas . I managed to get away with it yesterday but theb threw up after a coughing fit this morning. Have felt so tired today I could hardly lift my head off the pillow. I'm not sleeping well as I sleep for about 45 minutes then wake up with the driest mouth in the world, have a sip of water then 10 minutes later need a wee. It's exhausting!

I haven't scumbed to any sales as yet but we have most things anyway from DS as he was only weeks old when he came home to us and we have a lot of friends who will happily pass things on which is nice.

BuffalotheGruffalo · 26/12/2017 16:53

I promise I can spell, I'm not sure if it's my fat fingers or auto correct. I really mist reread stuff properly but I'm too tired.....

theruffles · 26/12/2017 16:58

We saw our little one last week on a scan and saw a heartbeat (second time!) but I found some bleeding yesterday. It didn't half make me panic! We managed to get a dr's appointment (Happy Christmas eh?!) who thought it might be okay as it seems to have been a one-off bleed (not bright red, no cramps) but it has scared me. I know it's normal to be anxious but I keep worrying we'll get to the 12 week scan and find there's no longer a heartbeat. I'm trying to keep distracted - we're not that far off the 12 week mark. I think I'll be 10 weeks on Saturday but I find myself analysing every symptom to check I still feel pregnant - nausea, fatigue and sometimes the odd moment of ravenous hunger are all still there. I think I'll be a nervous wreck if we get to actually have this baby!

BuffalotheGruffalo · 26/12/2017 17:24

@theruffles that must have been so stressful. Take it nice and easy and try not to stress too much although I fully sympathise because I spend most of my time thinking the worst but then remind myself that I felt exactly the same before the first scan and that one went well. It's hard though, especially as the 12 week marker seems to be taking forever to arrive!

Brettgirl · 26/12/2017 17:56

@buffalothegruffalo I found this In fact, once a strong heartbeat is seen on ultrasound (at least 120 BPM by ~7-8 weeks) the risk of miscarriage declines to ~ 5%. Therefore, in many ways seeing a fetal heartbeat is like jumping over a huge pregnancy hurdle.

BuffalotheGruffalo · 26/12/2017 18:15

That's even more reassuring. The midwife said to me it's all about crossing these litthe hurdles and seeing a heartbeat is a bug one as most miscarraiges occur around the time the heart should start beating.

BuffalotheGruffalo · 26/12/2017 18:21

I'm assuming that they would tell you at scan if baby didn't have a strong heartbeat? Sonongrapher said everything looked just as it should for 7 and a half weeks when we went. Just having a little fret about the 'strong heartbeat' bit as I just asked if everything was ok....

theruffles · 26/12/2017 18:24

@BuffalotheGruffalo thank you Smile I think I just need to calm down and stop overthinking every little twitch and ache! I've read seeing a heartbeat at an early scan is a good sign too.

theruffles · 26/12/2017 18:27

@BuffalotheGruffalo I've had two scans now (one at 5 weeks and another at 8 weeks) and while they said there was a heartbeat, they didn't say if it was a strong heartbeat. That worries me too, but I'm trying to focus on the fact we could see the little flicker of a heartbeat - that's good news I think.

peachesarenom · 26/12/2017 18:42

I haven't done any sale shopping although I'm very tempted. My hunby just forced me out for a walk in the chilterns. Slippery, grungy mud. I honestly thought I'd lose my hiking boots and/or slip. I survived though despitr it being pitch black for the second half. Just had a thai takeaway to feel a bit better. I don't understand active people. I should have been in the sales or when not preggo the pub!

OP posts:
Flatwhite32 · 26/12/2017 18:47

No sale shopping here. My last pregnancy ended in MMC at 12 weeks in August (found out at the scan) so we are living one day at a time at the moment.

LMX0 · 26/12/2017 19:33

@Flatwhite32 all the best for this pregnancy and yes just take everyday as it comes
@peachesarenom how dare he 😂😝 no i don't understand these active pregnant ladies
Dont stress ladies just enjoy as much as you can of your pregnancies (i know it really is hard too!!) and i agree these weeks really are dragging in my scan is next friday and feels forever away

LMX0 · 27/12/2017 11:16

How are we all today im in a bad mood today 😢 started off because DH didnt do the dishes properly, its probably a good thing he is still in bed hungover or he might be dead 🙈🙊. Also have any of you been experiencing strange smells i.e i can nearly always smell dog/cat food (as in the wet meat) i do have a dog but he only eats dry food so there is none in the house.........

BuffalotheGruffalo · 27/12/2017 11:33

I'm in a lazy mood. DS has a stinking cold so is flaked out watching YouTube videos. We are ordering a new sofa today, paid for with DH bonus which I negotiated with him to get if he could have new rubbish for his PC to play games on so win win all round here. I feel ok when I'm sat down doing nothing, soon as I move about I feel sick. So I'm not moving.

Can you make lots of noise @LMXO to get your own back for rubbish dish doing?!

peachesarenom · 27/12/2017 11:52

LMX0 my DH feels the same about me, I've done no dishes at all for 2 weeks!

OP posts:
LMX0 · 27/12/2017 12:45

@peachesarenom you have a perfect reason as to no dish doing, i can relate as last week making dinner or doing dishes was very near impossible!!
@BuffalotheGruffalo sounds like the perfect lazy day in your house neither child or hubby to annoy you and a nice new sofa for you that us a deffo win win all round 😊

peachesarenom · 28/12/2017 09:18

I haven't had a pregnancy symptom for about a week. I already have a pre preggo belly so I can't even tell if I'm showing. Although, if I have a bit of a massage I can feel something denser in there. It's so weird. I think I'm 10.5 weeks. I wont have my scan till 13.5 weeks so it's a long wait! Also, need to buy a house!
