Hi there,

Does anyone feel like a chat?

Age: 34
TTC: 11 months
Due: July 2018

I had vivid dreams in the two week wait. Since BFP I've just had mildly sensitive boobs.

My colleague has just announced his wife is pregnant, they've just had their first scan, I can't help but feel he's stolen my thunder a little bit!

@MegEmski thank you for your lovely reply. I'll keep thinking positive thoughts!

Brettgirl · 13/12/2017 13:22

My midwife yesterday told me that you can't get antenatal classes on the NHS now, I've looked up the NCT ones and it looks like it's going to be about £300. I honestly think I can make better use of the money and think there are other ways to get the information. I'm aware it's an opportunity to make friends but I'm not very sociable in that kind of setting... what are you ladies thoughts? Xxx

MegEmski · 13/12/2017 15:04

@theruffles keep us updated :) I'm sure it will all be fine and you will be back here in 5 / 6 weeks showing us your 12 week scan photo!

@brettgirl they are expensive, but I've booked into one - everyone I spoke to has recommended them, mostly for the support afterwards!

LMX0 · 13/12/2017 15:07

@theruffles welcome and congrats!! Try not to stress a little flickering heartbeat was a very good sign 😁
@MegEmski omg look at your cute little baby bump!!!
@Brettgirl awww no way!!! No i deffo wouldnt be paying that either!!! Hopefully i am able to get then where i am as i really wanted to try them

LucyDolly · 13/12/2017 15:46

hello to all newbies and congrats

aw @MegEmsk look at your little bump

ive just popped in for a moan - the MS is now in full swing I feel ROTTEN today constant sicky no energy. Its my first day back after a few days off but I'm working from home. In the office tomorrow and Friday which I'm dreading as means I leave home at 7am and get back at 6pm.... ii feel bad moaning as I'm only 7 weeks but god I hate first trimester. I also don't feel like me anymore I just feel like I moan and sleep! meh!

LMX0 · 13/12/2017 16:12

@LucyDolly its okay we can moan together!! Today is one of my worse days!! Been feeling sick all day and was sick this morning & everything is turning my stomach but still trying to count myself lucky and it will pass (it is ok to go home and lie on the sofa and do nothing right?!) lol (if only)

Hows all you other mommas to be?

Of course it's okay to go home, lay on the sofa and do nothing!...your pregnant!
I've been in bed ALL day (only getting up for toilet breaks and food) and im not even having a rough day. Just felt like i deserved a day to lounge...Will probably roll out of bed before my partner gets back from work though lol

meow1989 · 13/12/2017 16:43

Hi all, had my scan today which puts me at 12+5 (which is nice as thought I was 12+1!) all looking good an so emotional seeing bub again!

Sorry to those of you who are feeling ill Thanks

Blair86 · 13/12/2017 19:24

Hi everyone, welcome and congrats @frenchsteph86 (there are a few of us 86's on here haha) and @theruffles @HoneyBee92 @NelleB and @Southernscape2017! Wow there are so many of us.

Nausea is fairly constant atm but haven't actually been sick yet... 6 weeks today. I got a free flu jab at the docs yesterday so that was a bonus, also filled out my form for free prescriptions!

@MegEmski you look great and what a fab little bump!

@frenchsteph86 wow I conceived in 2nd month off the pill and thought that was fast. You must have conceived straight away!

Anyone already feel like time is going sooo slowly? I can't believe I only found out 10 days ago, feels like I've known for ages.

NelleB · 13/12/2017 20:01

So glad it's not just me feeling like this... I have these episodes of being uncomfortable, sticky, tired, hungry, nauseous, hot, cold, cranky... 4 weeks in 🙈

I hope everyone's sickness is getting better!

LMX0 · 13/12/2017 20:02

@Blair86 yes time is going soooooo slowly
@MCP86 yay!! Good on you i had a day like that yesterday done my nails and pattered about the house but didn't do very much i managed to make dinner and a do a little ironing but ill chill on the sofa the rest of the evening

Blair86 · 13/12/2017 20:40

@NelleB definitely not just you... I am constantly hungry (and thirsty!) lol and nauseous, got back ache, not sleeping well, ugh! My moods have been ok so far though, fingers crossed for that. It seems crazy that it can all hit you so early on doesn't it?!

Does anyone else have to self-refer to their hospital? My GP wasn't that helpful, just told me I have to fill out an online form to get a scan appt, which I've done. No info on sorting a booking appt with midwife either, so I'm going to ring the hospital about that. Hmm

hellybellyjellybean · 13/12/2017 20:53

I rang my gp and they said I have to ring this children's centre where the midwife has her appointments. Had a 20 min appointment where they just asked a few medical questions, took my weight, height etc, asked what hospital I wanted to use then said I'd get an appointment through for a booking in appointment. That letter came, a two hour appointment slot in which I filled in loads of paperwork and then when I met the midwife most of the time they spent just asking the same questions they had asked on the paperwork, some of these had also been answered in my first appointment with my midwife so felt all a bit repetitive! Just waiting for my appointment for my scan now. What I find really weird is at no point have I ever had to do a pregnancy test or anything so right now I guess to a certain point i could've lied (I don't know why anyone would) but no one has had any proof I am actually pregnant which I find very weird!

NelleB · 13/12/2017 20:54

@Blair86 I had to do a self referral today to antenatal. Needed my NHS number (like I've used that once in the last 30 years please) they got quite snooty with me when I asked them to give it to me.

Honestly, I didn't think it would get going this quickly, I'm a bit taken aback by it. If I could have stayed in bed today I would have!!! Only 36 weeks left 😂😂

@Blair86 apparently this is a new thing that is being rolled out that you will no longer need to see gp just fill in a form online my mum told me about it
@hellybellyjellybean really?? That is a bit nuts my GP asked me to drop a pee sample in after my appointment and i agree who in their right mind would make it up altho there are some nutters out there!!
@NelleB you get days like that were bed is sooooo much more appealing!!!

Subo2018 · 14/12/2017 07:48

Morning everyone! Has it dawned on anyone yet or slightly scared them about the pain of labour might be like. It suddenly hit me the realisation that this is actually going to happen Shock

Brettgirl · 14/12/2017 10:24

I've not had anyone else test me either, it would really help if a professional said "yes you are pregnant!". Even two hours at the midwife and no test lol xx

LMX0 · 14/12/2017 10:56

@Subo2018 no im not thinking about that end of things yet just focusing on this end lol however once i done the test after the tears (of happiness) it did dawn on me that ll have to give birth 😂
@Brettgirl its really strange isnt it!!! Im sure there has been some (not very many hopefully) has went along to their scans only to be told nope nothing there which would be heartbreaking and awful that that could have been avoided in the first place
